I was joking, luvs, since you wrote it twice!
The photo contest
OMG LOL I didn't even see that!! ☺ I still don't like busy backgrounds though! (lol)
oohhhh.. ok.. now I get it.. I am good for those kind of shots
We all are. But most of us either crop it nicely or don't enter it in a contest!
Congrats to all the winners of the photo contest. All the contributors should be proud and I know we here at the NE are very proud of the talent that represented us so well. I have just voted for the calendar pics and it is a difficult choice for most months except oct. for which there is only one choice imho, our very own Victor's beautiful fall scene.
I find that I very often only see the flower or garden when I take a pic and notice the rubble later. Digital cameras and editing have improved my finished pics a very very great deal.
Thanks Pat!
did they say when they are letting us know which photos are in ... and which are out??
Have not seen that. Voted for yours for Jan or Feb. Forgot which.
I think it would have been fairer if the top 13 winners (by points) automatically got in (cover, plus 12 months). Then the vote would decide the remaining ones.
that would be fair.. and thanks for the vote!
You're welcome. I did not vote for the crappy few.
Personally, I would like to see Containers, Veggies and Garden Art dropped.
my container photos stunk
Victor--you were Sept. for my vote. You only look at the front of the calendar once.
oh I picked Victors for November... we should have all voted the same months
Garden Art is the one category that I don't look at the overall composition of the photo, but judge based on the subject. All other categories I judge not on the subject, but how the photographer has handled it. Does that make sense?
You can still change your vote!
Can everyone vote? Or just the cotributors? I do not see a way to do this....
Anyone. Here:

Thanks Victor! Tough choices!
I voted for Allison's shot for January and mine for October.
I did also. Great minds, and all that.....Something about Allisons really said January to me. Although I keep going back and forth about the cover, so that may change.
The dog picture said March to me.
Yes - Allison's pic is a nice sign of encouragement for the long winter days.
I also did Allison's for January and Victor's October. Great minds and all that!
I did the same Jen. I liked onewish1 for December but liked the Reindeer too!
I put the deer on December too!! How funny!!!
mee three...on both counts!
Me too on the elk!
Are they the same thing?
Not sure. Can only go what lands on my roof!
LOL!
Victor's for Oct., Allison's for Dec.---we're all close! Great minds & all that.
me four! I mean, Allison's for Jan
you guys are going to give me a big head... :::::BLUSH:::::
Awwww, sweet.
There was a metal spider web trellis picture that had a metal pig statue and the spider had spelled out Some Pig in the web. I thought that was cute in the garden art section, voted for it, but it didn't make it to the finals.

Charlotte's Web always made me cry when I read it to my students---I was glad when I stopped teaching 4th grade---didn't read to my 7th grade science students, but they probably would have liked that.
I remember loving Charlotte's Web as a kid, but I can't remember the ending. I have a funny feeling that is best. My best childhhood friend got a pig as a wedding gift. She named her Charlotte. I guess I should read the book again, even if I end up in tears.
Congrats Victor on your first place photo! I always enjoy the contest, but I didn't have time to enter this year :(
Thanks Christina. I always love your shots. Congrats to Allison too for her first place. We'll both be in the calendar. We made 'the cut'!
