It is Black Cat Friday the 13th....here is my old sweet, Pet Cemetary kitty Max (minus a couple teeth...grin)

Thumbnail by themoonhowl

Trina, keep us up-dated on your daughter and you would absolutely enjoy visiting the exotic tropical rainforest. Your tongue would be wagging the whole time;-)

Wishing everyone a great Friday the 13th.

Jean, I liked your Max even without all his teeth;-)

Hi Rachel. I like your Kitty too. So pretty. Max is 13 years old and is the sweetest old guy....his nickname is Snag....short for Snaggle Tooth.

Are ya still getting soaked? Ida was a strange end of season storm. We have a new system of rain moving in this weekend...actually need it as have had no rain in a couple weeks or so....

Be safe, and have a great weekend.

Hi ya Jean. We got some drenching rain's and high wind's here but the rain let up yesterday morning. I can't complain because we needed some moisture again.

My cat blacky is a sweetheart but require's a lot of attention unlike my old cat 3 Toe's who would rather you just look at her and not touch;-))) 3 Toe's is ancient!

Wishing you a great weekend too and hope you get that rain.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Grin. Princess Grouchy Pants would not sit still for a picture...ahem, but the young Turk, Bob is very agreeable....grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Bob is a handsome boy, Moon.

Rachel, that picture is a hoot!

Sam has a mis-placed tooth. It sits in a little bit on the bottom, and if he's grinning it looks really funny. He needs braces!

Moon, I know you were kidding about the Christmas bonus, but the office manager before me used to do stuff like that. I had to learn my job through trial by fire, find all her book cooking (to the tune of $15,000).

I could very easily do something like that, but won't.

But I know you were kidding!! Besides, we get our bonuses at the end of January. Just in time to pay those bills ^_^

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Rachel I saw that and looked and goes "so that's what your trying to do to the house.....well ok just don't forget I like roses and honeysuckle too!" No fair though he has a sprinkler system to water his, I have to use watering cans, and a small one at that!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

That was JJ's joke about the bonus, Smiley....grin Good thing they hired an experienced cook to figure out your predecessor's recipe....lol. Man, 15 grand....and i guess she figured she was entitled to it.....

Maxie cat had to have 2 teeth, 1 up 1 down removed due to damage....now he is a drool kitty....lol

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Daughter is feeling better, blowing up my cell texting! LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Sorry Moon. I read too fast. Of course she thought she was entitled to it. And it wasn't big stuff - all nickel & dime.

Trina - it's amazing how fast those fingers can fly while texting, isn't it? What amazes me is they remember what they have to push the * button for IE: if you want 'good', while typing 'home' comes up. They automatically remember to push that * button.

Droolie, that's funny. My little namesake - her mom called her 'droolie' when she was a baby and in that stage.

Keaau, HI

Good day everyone! Aloha aku!

The Vanilla plants are always cultivated. They don't do well wild.

The Temple Tangors are some of the best, sweetest, juiciest Citrus available. They're the same as the Manderins found in cans at supermarkets.

It's been blasting rain since yesterday afternoon. The lightning has let up but everything is dripping wet. About a foot of rain has dumped since yesterday.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I'm here for a short this day is not going well,

How far below the soil do I plant this crinium bulb?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Hey Trina, what's going on? How is your daughter?

Keaau, HI

Hi Trina, the top of the bulb should be about an inch under soil.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I heard today that the depth you should plant a bulb is twice its width.

Keaau, HI

Crinums should not be any lower in the soil than about an inch. They can even do okay with the top of the bulb showing. Do not bury them deeply!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

thanks Dave...I'm just ready for this week of hell to be over and by the end of this weekend I know it will be worse! Amanda is home and fine but not but maybe 10 minutes after she got home Blake's crazy ass grandmother showed up and we had to have the police remove her from the house and my BF is an idiot and let the kid leave with her and I'm so angry I can't see straight!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Afternoon Dave. Sorry you are getting wet. Guess no work today, huh.

Trina it will get better, deep breath, slowly exhale.

Smiley Yes it was me on the bonus ..but it was a joke...grin

Nice kitties Moon, do they like poo babies??

Lynnie here ya go, the fireplace. DH had to replace the bottom. He even painted the new board. I think he forgot some though.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes I know the porch needs painted and the grass needs mowed. Next year.

Any volunteers????

Need a ride??

JJ, that fireplace is so cute. I can just see it all decorated with your special touches.

Since you are a northern I have a question.

I found 2 trash bags of leaves today. There are not leaves around here except for the tough oak ones. Then I saw a place that had a sign that said free compost only about 1/2 mile away! And of course I can always get coffee grounds at Starbucks.

So now I have leaves, can get compost, and coffee grounds!

Can I put that stuff just on top of the soil?

Trina, so sorry you have such crazy relatives. All I can say is that I hope things improve for you. Glad Amanda is doing ok.

LOL Yep, I will take a ride. When does the train leave. So cute!!!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I have mulch also.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice, I really don't know. I'm sure it can be put on top but the leaves might just blow away. Maybe put a tarp or something over it?

I was reading on some thread where they dug holes where they wanted to plant next year and layered the leaves ect in the hole and then covered it back up with the soil instead of using a compost bin.

Sorry I can't say for sure how it would work but doubt it would hurt anything.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey Smilely,JJ,Trina,Dave, Rachael,Venice and last but not least Moon! JJ I want the first ride with Santa and Elfie. See Dave I know my fruit lol. Venice didn't get to GW today but hope to this weekend. Trina sounds like things are calming down some for ya Yeaaaaaa. Smilely just a little check for all won't even be missed and we can go eat with Moon tomorrow evil grin ha ha. Kassy where ya be? I know you aren't working today, want some pictures. The cats are cute, but I'm a dog lady. Oh Dixie girl where are yooooou?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

that evil woman is not related to me...Kelly was Blake's MOM. This evil woman is Shirley, she was Kelly's mother and the reason Kelly died and why Blake is so messed up!

Jesup, GA

JJ's the fire place looks nice. Trina glad things are setteling down. Hope your daughters recovery is a speedie one. Hope for better days little T.! Hope all of you have a nice night. Going again, grandaughter has a dance recital later on this eve. See yall a little later. Moon dont eat too much! Grin....little Max is too cute. I think being snaggled toothed makes him even cuter!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave or Moon,

Do you think I can put these things on top of the soil. First leaves, compost (horses), coffee grounds, and then mulch???

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Venice to me a compost is not a compost without leaves. I toss em in and turn when I think of it. You have to have a ratio of green and brown stuff to make the decompositon take off to produce good compost.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I can NOT imagine how much Kelly suffered being locked in the basement to her own house while her mother took over her life and abused her son. Shirley knew Kelly had Breast Cancer and refused to let her out of the house to get treated. she died in the basement of her own home! As far as I am concerned shirley winding up in someones compost pile would be too good of a place for her to be!!!!!!! Going to go play with dirt now before I explode!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Well, I love see the photos of pets. Really like kitties but like puppies also. Or any other kind of critters or poos!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, didn't anyone know that was going on to call authorities?

Flowers, I know green and brown. I have 4 types of materials to add to the soil.
Can you say specifically, in your opinion, what and how I should use them?

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well to keep rodents from coming around Venice, I have an open fenced in area that I throw all my pruning clippings, raked leaves, any peelings such as banana, potatoe or apple ect. and also my egg shells and coffee grounds. I don't put left over food in because I don't want mice and snakes skunks raccoons or whatever might be lurking about. The rain keeps it moist and I will turn it with a pitch fork every so often and usually wind up with nice compost in spring for my flowers and shrubs. If you want to hurry up the process then a tarp or cover will make it heat up quicker and decompose faster, I am in no hurry lol

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I don't want to do a typical compost pile. I just want to add some things to the soil to enhance what is there.
