Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

mmm hmmm....!

Joeswife...got your package yesterday..thanks!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

RJ congrats on your bloom on the baby woodrose! Mine is still a bud.. love those morning glorys too! save a seed pod off one of those plz.
Rita what is the flower in #7271319?
my mother used to give us raw sugar canes when we lived in oceanside .. i have no clue where she got all the exotic stuff she crammed into our mouths, but I am glad she did. I still am trying to understand why she moved us to the middle of the US...
I saw the question about the basement thing.. there are three types of basements.. crawl, finished and unfinished. ours is partially finished.. 1900 square feet and not in use anymore, which is now my personal tropical garden, so I can while away the nights and weekends down there, instead of sitting in a recliner, yelling at a game on TV over which I have no control. here is the new lay out.. I have lots of sticks going now..

it looks really really cool!

Joeswife, it's Huernia schneideriana. Red Dragon flower.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Rita, it's beautiful and sunny today, in mid 70's. Enjoying it while I can because the rain is coming back on Tuesday. Never thought I would hate rain so much. My yard is constantly soggy and wet. The Japanese Maples did not turn their beautiful red this year. I think due to too much rain. :(

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

aww Nicole, that is too bad about that, the red maples aound here have been breath taking// if you have really moist soil, there is a plant that does well, I just have to find it.. .. Sunshine thanks for the information, I shall look it up.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

normally, we're in a drought, but we're practically flooding every few days this year.

And our rain is slow in coming this year.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

raining here, DH just mowed the leaves off the lawn, so that is good!
this is from this past summer:

Another Eucalyptus that's flowering now. Although, they recently did a major revision of Eucalyptus and shifted a lot of them, including this one, into Corymbia. So it's actually Corymbia ptychocarpa now, Swamp Bloodwood. But everyone still thinks of them as just another eucalypt.

oooooooo ;D thats so purty! gee u r so lucky to be around all that loveliness, Tropic
this is the closest thing I have to that aside from mimosa blooms here in Kansas.. this is a Kansas native wild flower. I was lucky to get some seeds of it..

People often walk past natives growing wild but there's some really nice things out there. That does look like a Mimosa.

Red Oak, TX

Joeswife, did it snow at your home last night? I spent the day digging hibiscus and bananas, I have a few more to do tomorrow. Can you please root a piece of the pink cestrum for me. I did not have any luck with the bubbler last winter.
The Kansas wild flower is gorgeous!!

Sunshinesw, it is good to see you !!. The Red dragon is a very pretty color, I rarely ever see the white Morning Glory bush.
Great Pictures, thanks

LiliMerci, I am happy that you are getting a few sunny days. Last week was just perfect weather here in Texas, but in a few days we will be having lows in the high 30s.

Tropicbreeze, It is hard to keep up with all the name changes, I have trouble remembering the old common names. I did remember seeing a beautiful Ecalyptus tree growing in a DG backyard that was about 12-15 ft high. I wonder if it ever bloomed for them. Those are Beautiful flowers. I thought that they were just grown for their fragrant foliage. thanks

Tropic, that is called catsclaw.. it is so pretty in bloom.. but it is so low to the ground, most people here in Kansas never see it. I am a Native plant nut.
Rita that is your smallest Philo? it looks so huge! The cestrums I have for you and the jessimines are already rooted and ready to go into the ground.. am planning on packing it up on Tuesday .
I agree , those white Morning glory bushes are so pretty! I have about 6 seedlings of the lavender one around the house still leafing, and one has grown an additional branch, all from seeds I planted last december.. I imagine I will see blooms this summer. ...
I have four cuttings of this that are now rooted, it grows the size of a large old lilac bush.. I am so pleased the branch cuttings have rooted.. they will spend the winter outside like in the country..

Here is the whole shrub.. it was covered in bees, butterflys and other insects.. it smelled heavenly, I am still looking for an ID.

Joeswife, those last two pictures are interesting, unusual blooms. The first Kansas native leaves remind me of a plant I know as a sensitive plant, touch the leaves and they close.

No working in the yard today, it is cold and windy.

This little noid blue flower is from a DG in Florida

I am so thankful that Craig is steadily improving. She asks that we continue to pray without ceasing.

Tropicbreeze that is an amazing bloom on your Swamp Bloodwood. I have never viewed that bloom before.

My Christmas cactus is about bloomed out but it was busting with bloom's a few week's ago. This is the second blooming session for me this year with mine.
