Here is a first bloom on a baby Strep. that I got from Susan.We will know the name when she comes along!!

Some of you have asked about growing Episcias from leaves.If you have stolons they usually root within a week,but if you need an extra of a plant without stolons or even an extra stem you can root leaves.For me it takes a couple of months before babies appear.
The dark red one is growing babies at the base,but I need to take a daytime picture or use a flash for you to see them.The other is producing a stolon.It is behind the leaf,which means I cut it at the wrong angle LOL.

OH JAN! Thats wonderful...must make you feel so good! I'm embarrased to post my few streps, they are all stragglers. I have managed to keep Alissa alive (knock on wood!!!!!), but it has hardly grown, still looks like a baby strep and its well over a year old by now I think. ha. And still waiting on the elusive bloom, ha! My luck it will bloom and die. tish
