Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow! Jim, you save me a leaf in the spring of Northwoods Cranberry Blitz..........I totally forget about the Northwoods' streps.

Isn't it Beslisle's that sells them?

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Gail, I never did get my order from them. Look at the rating on the watchdog. I should have looked before I tried to order.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

If you paid for it, I would let their phone ring off the wall until I got my full money back or email them 30 times a day!!! ^_^

Williston, ND

sure will gail,I know them by the way, they are nice people but dont always reply,i suspect they arent getting all the emails sent to them
now if you really want to be annoyed theres a vender that will take you money and may or maynot send your order,or take over a year to get it,and then have heavily subsutitied a lot of stuff you ordered,I will never order from them, but ive been told by many a person
it sucks too becausse hes got some good smithies and some neat streps

Williston, ND

oh and i cant say on this forum but if you email me and send me alll your streps i might tell you who,lol ok not all your streps

Bonnie, I wish I knew why some streps get limp. Check this out! All the others in the tray look great and this one may die!! I have put her in the bright kitchen window to see if she can dry out faster.

When I was repotting ( I still am),some of the plants that were looking bad were totally rootbound and others had practically no roots.Same soil, same pots, same everything??

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I can only tell you what works for me, Lynn. I look very carefully at each root system before I choose the right size pot. Streps hate being in too large of a pot............Even some of the larger size pots I get when I order from vendors, I often take back down in size when repotting.........all based on the size of the root system.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

Gail;
I know what you mean, i can't figure it out either.
bonnie

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Yes,
I think some from vendors were overpotted.I should have scaled down the pot size.

Williston, ND

looks like red alert but im not real sure
ill check and let you know, its one i dont have at this time lol

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I will be sure and take good care of her for you!!!! Also, I will post the next set of blooms and see if they are any different...........now I am going to look up Red Alert.......I meant to order that one from LLG and forgot............

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Jim,
Does my first picture look like Mighty Mouse to you? To me,the color is a little more vibrant. It's so hard to tell on a tiny little plants first bloom.Susan sent me that one and some divisions from a tray that we are planning to idenitify when they bloom.

Lynn

Williston, ND

no its not,not sure what it is yet,but mighty mouse has a little blue bloom, its cute though,

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Jim, do you know why some streps get limp, like in Gail's pic above? It is a mystery!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Thanks Jim!!

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Love Northwood's Cranberry Blitz!!

Lynn, I just potted up the Maasen's white you sent me. Hope I get blooms soon!

Williston, ND

two reasons streps go limp underwatered or youve over watered them and there was root damage ,sometimes they come out of it
I would cut some leaves, rehyrate them, then pull the plant and whack off the root ball and start rerooting it, or try to plastic bag it
that works sometimes too

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Jim........will do that!

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Just wanted to post a photo of some baby sinns--who says that micro minis are difficult--LOL

Thumbnail by Hillbilly_Gran
Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Those look great HB Gran! Do you grow them covered? What's the name of the pink blooming one? It's gorgeous!

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Nope--grow them just like you see them-- in the stryofoam meat tray. They are so much easier than I ever imagined--they sometimes get really dry--but just keep blooming along. I am finding they are more tolerant to me and my conditions than AV's. The pink one (photo does not do it justice) is a seedling from a "mini sinningia mix" It is either from the gesneriad society or Thadd Scaggs-- I'll have to find my notebook to know for sure.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

So cute Gran! I grow my sinn.rio das pedras in the open too,it does just fine.

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Great Sinns. Gran!! The ones I have are mini or larger, but they are all out in the open.Sometimes I think about getting a big container of some kind and grouping them so I don't forget to water!!
