I just found strep leaves in great condition(crisp) from Gail in the fridge! They've been in there for about a month, I guess. They were extra leaves or pieces of leaves that I didn't have room for when I first got them. I cut off any questionable parts and put them down a few minutes ago.
(Connie, I also put a leaf of Miss Mable down for you)

What fun on a Sunday afternoon! I live for weekends just to play with my gessies.:)

Oh, and I ordered some supplies from John at Cape Cod, FINALLY, on Friday. Pots, Avid, markers, brushes, labels, super coarse vermiculite. This week I will probably call back and order some Keiki grow and Marathon. Although, I currently use BATS, which has the same active ingredient as Marathon: Imidacloprid.

ya me too , love to cover the table with my plants that need potting and taking leaves of my favorites so I have them to share :) doing that today too but I also have to put plastic on some of the windows to keep out the Winter winds but it is soooo nice today now that I think I will work with my plants today and clean up and do the windows next weekend :)

Thank you for the leaf going down for me Shanika , are there some you want that I can start for you today too ? I love your pics , Gail and I love the Russians too , I have 3 or 4 and your Supernature was one I bid on too but it always went too high and then for the last 2 I was getting sick and just didn't keep watching , I am so glad you and Gail got one :)

Yeah, the real work(as non-plant people would say) can wait til another weekend.;) LOL

Gail was the one who gave me my first Russian strep- I think it's called Russian Pink. It was a large leaf, so I put half down when I got the box one month ago and the other half was found in the fridge today:)

Russian AVs though are a bit different story for me. I had my first one from PJ's violets a couple of years ago- it was called Winter Smiles. I loved that thing to death! I don't know what happened to it, but it went to plant heaven.

I will start a leaf of Supernature for you today too. I'm in the propagating mood.:)
You could start a leaf of that Kei-Yoki if you can and David Thompson's strep Stoplight. Isn't this fun? I'm thrilled!!!!!!!!!!(doesn't take much for me when it comes to plants)

Monticello, MN

okey dokey , will do for you too :) and thank you for the Supernature leaf down too :) I already have babies of Kei-Yoki so will grow one out for you and then when you get it you can put down leaves too :) it is fun :) I too get the smiles and excited feeling when i putts with my plants :) and I so love it when I see a leaf getting babies , it is such an accomplished feeling , I have repotted 10 plants in just the last few minutes and I potted up some leaves so I am done for the day , now have to get ready for tomorrow :) I will put down a leaf of Ford's Wild Fire too when I get my plants from Dennis , I will have to see if Gail wants one too , she is with her grandkids I guess , I am so glad she got her new pc , I really missed her .

Hey you say you are in a propagating mood , you haven't told your hubby that have you :)

Hugs,
Connie :)

I am back home from watching 15 volleyball games in two of the grands final tournaments and got to see my grandson play soccer. What fun we had!!!

Since last night was Halloween and all the grands were having a party starting out at their house with pizza, etc..........I decided to meet my friend Betty in Seguin for the night and go to our favorite nursery this morning and then home this afternoon.

All the hoyas were gone and begonias filled the greenhouses......what a sight to behold!! There were all kinds........cane, rhizomes, etc. Some were 7 and 8 feet wide in hanging baskets. I didn't buy any but decided to go with succulents of all kinds for my kitchen gro light shelves.

They had these great looking black hard plastic Bonsai trays (containers) so I bought some and came home to start cramming succulents in them for these shelves that get so warm.

You can't see much at a distance but they look great........even have a Haworthia with a bud turning into a bloom right now. Viostrep sent me one Haworthia and she is to blame for this new addiction.

Here are all the plants on the shelves and then I will show you one of my favorites up close.

Meant to tell you I love all your new pics, Shanika!!! I came home to blooming avs and streps everywhere and new babies from so many stuck leaves......both avs and streps. (I, too, have some still in the fridge).......

Here are the kitchen gro light shelves with my new succulents all planted up.

All these plants and leaves on the floor have powdery mildew. They have been treated and now I have a fan on them so I can put them back on the shelves in another hour before I go to bed.

Wish I had time to take pics of all shelves, but here is one of smaller avs.

Look at all those blooming violets! Gail, those are nice. How many times do you have to treat with the Safer's for PM?

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

LOL, Connie. I didn't tell him. He just thinks I'm doing plant stuff- it's all the same to him!

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

Gail;
What are you useing for powdery mildew?
bonnie

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

BTW Gail, excellent job on the succ dish garden. They are so beautiful!!!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I have always used Garden Safe brand of Fungicide 3 (3 Garden Products in one).
It also has the name Schultz on the front also...............I don't spray unless I see powdery mildew but it doesn't hurt any of the blooms or buds on the plants. I also use it for my streps also when they get powdery mildew, Bonnie.

thanks Gail;

I took a few pictures tonight and haven't looked up the names on First Class to be sure they are spelled right and have the right name........so be sure and correct me if I am wrong with what I have on the pots. ^_^

I am loving Blue Chiffon, Gail. I'd love to buy a leaf or trade one of mine for it. I'm really liking the blue AVs. I am just learning at this moment that D. Thompson hybridizes not only streps, but Avs too???!!!!!

So, was David hybridizing AVs before streps or the other way around?
