I'LL BE YOUR TENNESSEE LAMB....

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

trina, your starting seeds now?

What kind can I ask?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

tropical plants, and some cacti

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

I see.
I want to start my Hen and Chick Seeds too, but I have to find a place where they are safe from my animals who think all greens are good to eat. ugh!

(Zone 5b)

But Kassy I didn't get dinner :(

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL Lynn, eggs only :p

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

we had tenderloins and fried potatoes

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

They lay some big eggs Lynn..
We have saved the shell from the one on the left, because we knew no one would believe us as to the size. It won't even fit into a yogurt single serving container with the lid closed.

Hello all you chickies!!!

Thanks!!! I have 3 begonia cuttings, Angel Wing Begonias, and they are now in water in a bouillion cube jar about a half full. I didn't have any distilled water but I will get some tomorrow. When roots are 1/2" long, then I can pot them.

I recieved some puple fern things and I can't remember who sent them to me. Was it you Smiley? I should have written it done. If I did write it down, I can't find it. Anyway, those roots are about 1/2" so I will need to pot those.

I have had so many accidents in the kitchen. I dropped mulch, potting soil, dropped a pot with a plant in it up-side-down, dropped cherry tomatoes on the floor and stepped on one, and I can't remember all the rest! I am too tired tonight to clean well so you know what I will be doing tomorrow.

I bought a plastic tray at the Dollar Store so I can put a few pots on it. I also got round aluminum pans to put under pots, 4 in a package. Goodwill is next door and Wednesday they have 30% discount. So I bought a ceramic pot, a brass pot, and 2 small glass bowls, $2.45. I was going to use them under pots but they will make great ceral bowls that I need.

Kitty was gone all day because of the noise. She came back about 7:00, ate, and went back out about 45 min. later!

Hope you all are having a good evening.

Kassy, beautiful eggs! Does the white one always have wrinkles like that?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Hey Venice!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, I saw that you are about finished with your seeds. You mean your seed list?

(Zone 5b)

Hi Venice! You sound busy over there lol get some sleep tomorrow's another day.
Rachel my roses were still blooming when I last checked them...rained all day today.
ok Kassy I'll settle for eggs *grin* if I can go Trina's for tenderloin.

Keaau, HI

Looks like Carol's Pothos is the plain kind of Epipremnum pinnatum. The leaf shape is quite variable.

To propagate Begonia's I just stick the stem in a peat based growing medium and keep it moist.

Actually venice, that white one shouldn't be white. It was a very light brown when we got it a few years ago. And it should be about the same size as the dark brown egg.
I felt sorry for the girl who layed that one.
I think the wrinkles in it may have been formed because the calcium to make the shell was getting way to stretched. At times we do get an egg with a wrinkle in them, somthing you never see in the store.

trina, Lynn is on her way. get out the tenderloin

Good to hear about your Rose's Lynnie. Mine are still going strong here too.

OK, I have never eaten brown egg's Kassy. What's the difference in the texture/flavor of those vs. the white one's? To tell you the truth...I never ate egg's up until a few year's ago. I know, duhh on me;-)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Venice I meant I finished adding all my seeds to my DG tradelist. And Lynnie, swing on by I got plenty of tenderloins!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I prefer to buy brown eggs because they have prettier colors! But usually they are more expensive.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

the brown eggs have richer fuller texture in my opinion

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Lynn, next time I get my hands on a egg from the store, I'll show you the difference in the color of the yolk.
The ones from the store are very light yellow, compaired to the ones that are farm fresh. I think it's all the greens our girls get.

I'm thinking the brown that you buy venice are also darker yellow on color? becasue those are usually hens that are allowed to roam.

The white eggs that we usually get, well those poor girls are penned up in very small cages, and usually after a year they are there not longer. The best production in a hen is the first year.

We don't only have brown venice, and I know some like the brown better. To me it makes no difference if it is brown or blue or green or mud green.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I just prefer farm fresh to store bought anyday!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Oh, we do have one that lays white, an english hen.

And then there was the time my BF sold the colored eggs to someone, and their son threw out the light green one that was in the carton, because he thought it had gone bad........LOL
No one told him we had Easter Egg Chickens that layed colored eggs. That was when we frist started with the Easter Egg Chickens

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

trina, my BF can't get his chickens to produce fast enough for all the requests he gets for them.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

that's too funny Kassy

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You can always tell a farm fresh egg when you fry one, the white spreads so nicely.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I can imagine! I know how quick my aunt's and now My cousin's, that and thier fresh honey, use to be cream, milk, and butter too but Alicia doesn't have time for that any more

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Evening All

Kassy are those plants gonna make it?
You have some pretty chickens there.

Venice you sound like you are having the kind of day I had a couple days ago.

GS wanted to do pumpkins after homework so here are the ones we did tonight.

Nice Pumpkins JJ!

Aaawww Kassy I like that one

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

thanks trina, she is one of our EE's, but I can't tell you for sure what color egg she lays. I can tell you it is either light blue or light green............LOL

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Yeah that one is pretty.

Do you give your chickens baths? I use to work with girl who showed some of her chickens and she gave them baths. She has some of those that layed colored eggs along with a lot of other kinds and goats, and emu's, donkeys, dogs, cats and alpacas.

Thanks, GS didn't do to bad for a little fella.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Had to get DH to go unlock GS bedroom door.

Locked himself out and the key is lost.

If he gets laid off he can always pick locks. LOL

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

JJ that's funny

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

No, we don't give them baths. They would just go find the dirt and give themselves a dust bath right after we did it with out luck.
They love their dust baths.

LOL JJ

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I noticed that they like doing that!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Just like little birdies. They take dust baths.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh, just like my dog...

We are having a battle of wills this week. New DIL thinks she can take over and change the rules for GS.
Big mistake!!!
Of course my son can't see it, thinks she knows it all after all she has a bachelors degree. No job but a degree. She thinks GS is not doing well enough in school and the teachers here aren't doing their job they let him get away with doing poor work. Of course she knows because she could be a teacher.

Big mouth me told her she better learn how to be a wife and get fat ass out of bed in morning and clean house once in a while.

OOPs no brownie points for gramma.
I am going to make my MIL look like a saint and that is almost impossible.
And I really hate being the bad guy!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I do too JJ but we both know that sometime's it's needed

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL JJ
Oh, if you only knew a few things about my DIL too...................grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Well I talked to GS mom and since he is having hard time with all these adjustments,(only because he is spoiled, and thinks he lives at my house, according to new DIL and she is there now so no need for me to have him all the time, like I have since he was 1 1/2) she talked to his pediatrician and has got appt. with child therapist to help him with adjustment.

Hopefully this will help of course she may have a degree in that too.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, if you are still around, thank you for your help with my flowers. Don't know what we would do without you!

Well, Trina, JJ, and Kassy, I am going to head on to bed. This is a sleepy girl.

Night and don't let the chickies get you! Sleep well!
