Barb, just went and bought the 'add a quarter' ruler for sewing...did you on the Nov. block add it to the cuts???

What a relief..saw that only a few days and it's the end of month..no block..going back on the threads think I sent October so still time to be on time for the Nov. block...what a relief (IF I'm right) lol

I'm pretty sure I saw that you had sent yours. I need to go back and check out the block again. It's been a while since I made it but I will get back to you and let you know.

Saved by the bell Barb..picked up some pretty material at the quilt shop at lunch..brought it in to the office so I could drool over the colors..now to attempt this months block??? tell me it was easy...please/please...with all I have to do just can't spend mega hours re-doing blocks...

Betty I just checked the Oct thread and you are marked as being received by Janice. So now it's on to Nov. I use my Add-a-quarter ruler when I do paper piecing. So far these blocks don't need to be. If you are having a problem d-mail me. Hugs, Barb

Barb..seems mine tend to end up 12" rather than the 12 1/2..don't like following that company's easy sew patterns..lol...

Oh oh..recipient said no pink..keep looking at the polka dots on black to me they are blue and maroon..but someone who doesn't appreciate pink tones might take it as pink..guess I'll have to go in search of another fat quarter..yikes...

Okay - that last post tells me you are working on Jaye's block. I'm going to d-mail you with a couple suggestions.

What do you think though Barb about the maroon dots? think I'd best either cut around using up the blue or get another piece of material..

Just as I'm leaving all the girls ask me for the date of our annual craft day..ooops, thought for sure they'd forget but not..so Sunday - Nov. 29th spaghetti and craft day at my house..lol...shaking my head here..

Barb, always joke when I say I'm conned into something..I love every last minute of the rush..as Recreation Co-ordinator for a large municipality I was in same energy mode so it's fun to do it now..missed that part of my work...

I'm very organized..really I am..have to be..so this weekend my 'to do's' are...

3:00 pm - leave for Toronto with the girls to shop at Ganz until 7pm then
go to Michaels and pick up supplies I need for Card workshop
and greenery/moss/christmas picks etc. for your kits...
Likely won't get home until 10 / 11

Saturday:

7:00 a.m. Be at TimBrr to pick up more wood
9:00 a.m. start cutting the rest of the kits
(all day job)
5:00 pm Clean up and get ready for trick or treaters

Sunday:

9:00 a.m. Start putting pkgs. together and do labelling


So, not preasured in the least..lol...

But remember I've all week at work to play..

Keeping to my schedule..been working so hard even forgot lunch..off tomake a coffee and a sandwich..might even get stuffed pork tenderloin in the oven..

Done with #7 kits, also is it #4 - red cardinal (?) think it's that number...will shortly start the #5's...promised myself I'd work like the dickens till 5 and then clean myself up for the 'trick or treaters'

keep having the feeling that Jeff might come with the boys for trick or treat ..they'd enjoy being with Kyle and Noah I'm sure..however 100 miles is a long way to drive for pop/chocolate bars and chips from grandma....lol


Crissy, you are probably trying much too hard..like you say plant it in the ground and hope for the best..that's what I do, if it lives it's because it wants to be in my garden if not..oh well!

Wind was soooo strong last night, had to pick a lot of decorations up from the ground, forgot that I tend to have a lot of earaches now, said I wouldn't go outside to work without hat, didn't and now I've an earache..best go see what I have for it...

Crissy, my growing motto has always been "Grow or die, dang it" LOL.. nothing inbetween! Glen always said that he was going to make me a garden sign with that on it, because I was always growling at my plants with that saying! lol

LOL Chris, sounds much like me...have to get back to work but thought I'd go through some of my shopping bags from yesterday aft. to see what I really picked up..most are little gift for drop - in visitors at Christmas...fell in love with these flower pots..too cute...might have to keep one for me..

Listened to the news, the graveyard that Roger is burried in had major damage done last night..Greg and the boys just popped in, will have to post photo's..he'll drop into the cemetery on his way to the scream shack .. let's hope Roger's isn't one that has been damaged..

So very sad isn't it when kids have no respect for the dead!

So here I sit, upstairs preparing more kits for the Christmas cards, keeping me busy..almost nodding off..lol

Nov. 1st..with all the Christmas projects on the go, cards/painting/kits..I almost feel like putting on Christmas music..

Did check the graveyard, much damage but not to Roger's tombstone..thank goodness...do hope somehow they find out who did this damage!

I've been busy, bit waylaid here and there but back on track..
Even sat and had coffee wrapping some Christmas gifts..lordy if I had more wrapping paper the saws wouldn't see me down here for the rest of the day..NOT..know you want your kits and it's a busy week ..today has to be finishing kit day...

So now I have

#3 - done...

#4 - on my list of to do's...pick up large round wood pieces
for berries... ooops...just notice I didn't do 'greetings'
sign..back later to cut that piece

On to #5..think it's the piece with the most cutting..being done on slightly lighter wood because of the multy layers to it...
Need five but like with all the others I'll cut an extra one for good measure..

Let's see how much time it takes...

Betty, went to wisconsin over the weekend to pickup the new puppy. She is a black female Flat- coated Retriever; name of Stonewall's Black Pepper. She cries, like all babies being away from momand her litter mates but we are having a good cuddle. You know puppies; play and then deadfor a nap. I'm going to try and get some sewing done but without Pepper chewing on the fabric.

janice love the new little pepper. Make sure you get him some chew toys, so he does not ruin your fabric stash.

Ohhh Janice, isn't he the cutest..bet you are thrilled..yep, I'm with Linda Kay..toys are needed ASAP before he finds your best slippers/shoes...lol..

Sailor being of senior age is content to lay and watch me go from craft room to workshop...maybe I'm tyring her out...lol

OK , this project originally was cut in one piece..because of the size I enlarged and cut out 2 candy canes to make '1'...well just not what I wanted..

SOOOO the plan is to either send you 2 large candy canes and materials to make '2' ... 1 could be a gift and 1 for you..lol or I've cut out extra's and you could pick alternate..

SORRY..some things don't turn out as planned!

Need to know asap...

the solo candy cane with large bow,star and greenery would look great..remember 2 for the price of 1....lol

I can do the bow myself Betty, 5 teenagers I've got lots of practice with bows...LOL

Was going to try making parcels tonight but much too tired..

Instead will cut the scarves, look for greenery and moss then call it a night...

Talk about sawdust and 4 trips to the firepit with left over pieces of wood...

If you remember on Friday I listed my 'to do' for the weekend...let's see how close I came...

What did I accomplish...

Yep, Friday went shopping..ended up with over 20 Christmas Presents ..ahead of the game for sure...

Sat...did get to Timbrr as predicted...started to cut kits.. stopped at 5:30 to get ready for trick or treaters..just sitting wasn't in the game plan to while I waited I included cutting out more Christmas cards...actually 26 to be exact....

Sunday...

Finished all the kits but for a few pieces...cleaned my mess..still a bit more on the craft tables but hey, more to cut and still have to package up what I have so will leave to main clean up till then...

During break periods I wrapped a few Christmas gifts and put others with name tags...thought I had wrapping paper but not..

It's now 5:30 and I think I'm going to just relax...

Did ALL I wanted to do except the labels, good thing to do at work tomorrow...

Ask me if I'm pleased with my weekend...sure am...
Going to join the dog, kitties and play lazy!
Now I think of lazy when there is only a few hours left of the weekend....

Hope you've enjoyed your day and for those who dropped into Santa's workshop, thanks for keeping me company..sure did enjoy!

Good grief Betty, makes me tired just reading it. If I had all of that to do only about 1/4 of it would actually get done, I'd be so scatter brained about it I'd just run myself in circles. Maybe if I made a schedule like you do it would be much easier. Doubt it, I would just say, "Oh it can wait an hour." and 5 days later I'd actually get to another 1/4 of the project.

Busy busy weekend, want to share pics but my computer just doesn't want to load them, so I'll take them to work and post in the am. I have to say the weather was perfect, a very normal Halloween temp, mid 60's during the day and low 40's during the night, which made me thankful I could wear a long sleeve t-shirt under my short sleeve dress...

hey I bet if I sent Ms. Betty my 5 teenagers she wouldn't have gotten that much accomplished either..LOL Just Kidding Ms. Betty, thought I'd come drop in so you don't pin my ears together....grin
