IF YOU BE MY DIXIE CHICKEN....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Of course the Poo Babies are tapping their toes...afterall, the song is by a group called Little Feat...lol

Hey everybody. Dreary day down in LA...rain in the forecast for the next....oh, I don't know, rest of my life, maybe....grin

Thanks Venice, but the dog photo is one that was sent to me, not one I took. The 2 story Jack o'lantern was fun, it had a small light inside that flashes....made a big impression on the little ones.

Jesup, GA

Kassy, how awful!!!!

Dave, aloha kakahiaka! Do you eat the apple/banana or cherry fruit? Or even the dates?

I stopped by Lowe's this morning. One was marked at $1.00, got it for .25 and one was $2.75, got it for $1.00. I know the Brom looks horrible but it has 2 small babies.

Dave, I don't see any reason why I can't cut off the part that is absolutely dead. Do you?

Are these hens and chicks or some other variety? Do I plant those now or keep them inside until spring?

Keaau, HI

Keep those bugs away from the bananas, Kassy!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Hmmm, not sure that they eat banana's Dave
Their favorite food is boxelder seed pods and lord only knows, my BF has plenty of them!

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol, I eat most any food that does not have legs. Especially food which grows on my farm.

The Bromeliad does not look dead to me; the green parts are still feeding the young plants. You can cut off the dead brown parts of the leaves. After that put your garden shears in drawer, and forget that they're there.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Pretty good just for a quarter!

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL Dave

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I haven't been on since lunchtime, and came back on and saw Dave's flowers, and thought 'how can he stand waking up and seeing such beauty day after day?'

(( sigh ))

Then, Kassy's bugs brought me back to reality! LOL

Nice find, Venice.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Dave, I have a question.

My boss' wife has an orchid that she thinks needs to be re-potted. Not knowing anything about orchids, all I can say is that it's a more common one, like what is sold in Home Depot. The flower petals are roundish.

She think it needs to be re-potted because the roots are showing on the top of the pot. I told her I believe they like it that way. Under what condition would someone re-pot an orchid? It's growing like crazy and flowering twice as much as it did last year.

I would figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but told her I would ask.

Keaau, HI

Hi Smiley, if the plant is root-bound it should be put in a larger pot.

Orchids can form a large colony, if given room and the right conditions.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll go surfing around for her. She's a nice boss' wife!

Jesup, GA

Well I'm back again. Looking at all that beautiful fruit of Daves,I'm going for a snack. I know what you mean Smiley. It would be nice to wake up to all of that beauty around you. All I'm seeing is mud, muck and more rain. Just saw the Poos go by in a 4 wheel drive. Grin Hi Dave have you finished the work on your house yet?

(Zone 5b)

aaaw Dave, you're making me hungry again! I dropped dinner of the in laws they're lucky I didn't eat it on the way over *grin* but i came home with chocolate, so that's a fair trade.
Nice hens & chicks Venice.
Hi Kassy, Smiley & Trina!

(Zone 5b)

Jesup, GA

Dixie the Gbabies are so cute when learning to walk. Can't ever wait for them to walk or talk, then wonder if they will ever sit down and be quite again after they do..LOL

Hi Moon, Smiley, Venice, Kassy, Trina and Aloha Dave.

Going to start on my pumpkins. Wish someone would clean them for me, Yuck I hate that job!
Have a watermelon no one wants to eat I might carve it to. Never done that before.

Later

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dixie, where did the poos go for their ride?

Trina, are you there? I think you have some of these hens and chicks. Are you keeping them inside until spring or always inside. Same with that vinca plant. My is still outside.

On the other side of my fence is a strip between it and the sidewalk, only about 9" wide, really awful soil with stones on top. Do you think I could just stick them in that horrible soil? If so, maybe I will go over and get more!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Venice, My hen and chicks are outside and they don't come in, but yours looks very different than mine...and don't worry about the vinca, if it doesn't survive the winter I have more in pots all over the house!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Do you think I should just plant the h & c outside now?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice what kind of vinca do you have?
