Garden Photos #45

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Yeh, I call them pale yellow but the seed pkg says "white."
About 15 robins flew out of this ornamental crabapple.

Those roses are pretty, even though they're going by.

Pretty crabapple! I saw some today, but didn't have my camera with me. I hate it when I forget to bring it. Had a nice walk on the Plymouth waterfront today, and saw a bunch of things that would have been nice to photograph.

I like fall roses, they remind me of Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.

Kathy, aside from the nice photos of pods, plants and puppy, your garden looks so properly put to bed. Ms. Tidy!! I am very impressed. My DH has been doing all the work this year to put ours to bed, but I may get out later today and help with the final cleaning up. My summer's Medical Inconvenience has passed, no more excuses.

Lots still blooming. We are about to plant the bulbs. I showed great restraint this year and will not get to 3000, unless I pick up some more in the T-day blow out sales. So about 1/3rd of what we have planted in the past. But I found enough new ones that I must spend a good chunk of the day making the new labels for them, plus I always order more of the same tulips and minor bulbs to add to the previous years plantings, if we love them.

I potted up 16 new hippeastrum yesterday for the GH. The greenhouse is packed, but very cheery! It took me many days longer than in the past, but I got it done in mid Oct. With this weather, I could have waited. Here are a couple of collages of the inside show. Patti

Another, showing lots of annuals that I just dig up and bring inside for the winter and to make cuttings from. Cheaper that way. Patti

Loved the seedpod photos, Booj---and the garden still looks nice! Patti, do you spray your GH geraniums?

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Wow! Nice Patti!!!!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Very nice, Patti! Your greenhouse looks so neat and tidy!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Thanks, It is part of the house, so it has to be less of a working greenhouse and more of a plant room. But I do have a really nice messy end with a sink, that I rarely show. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Vic tor, the mock orange looks like a sculpture!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - yes, I really like it too. They have some nasty spiky thorns. Great for a kid garden.^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Cool pic of the mock orange Victor. It looks like a maze for caterpillers.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

That's a fantastic mock orange. I have one that does not resemble yours in the least. Never blooms either. Maybe it's compost ready.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. And I did have blooms and fruit this year for the first time!
