Today's Weather in Your Garden - 55

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No. Did not go inside at all. Not enough time.

Thomaston, CT

It was 60 here today, but the yard was too wet to work in. Good to hear you are in FL, Louise, & that you're getting the summer we missed here. Hope it's that nice in Jan. when we are in the Villages. Gee, Pixie, I'm surprised you had more kids after the first labor! I was in labor about an hour---that was enough.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

AN HOUR?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you should have had 10 kids.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Bill - I can't toughen up! It's like Hell here! LOL But while I'm whining about it, I might as well show you the slow progress we've made outside. Here's the way we found our breakfast patio when we got here......

Now here's our progress in that area. I still have lots of the plants I brought down here to go into this garden, but that will wait until next week! We did have breakfast out here this morning before the sweltering started again!

that is a lot of progress louise - looks good!

the heat will help ease the diet :)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Pixie they were here at 7:30 last night... so excited for halloween now!!!

South Hamilton, MA

good progress. On your way back to NH you could stop by & weed our garden???

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow, great weeding job even in all that heat.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice, Louise! A nice cool drink is in order.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Can't Hank learn to kill the weeds with his javelin??!

One more shot of the lady.

Cool! I don't like small planes.

50 and cloudy.

Clocks this weekend. Ugh - I thought it was next week!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I love Maine, did I say I love Maine? I do. Glad to live here, will not complain about a dusting of snow before Halloween again! EVER!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

overcast and temps will get into the mid-fifties. will be burning a lot of brush that i've cleared out this afternoon -

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor I don't like planes at all... but given the chance to fly in this thing... with friends.. couldn't pass it up

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

62 and sunny for now. It's supposed to have showers later, hopefully AFTER the football game. It's DD's last one as she's a senior.

South Hamilton, MA

Still in the 50s & DH is out running over the leaves with the lawnmower. Many more leaves to come, however.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Cloudy 57 high of 60

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Cloudy and chilly...I think it's supposed to rain on the trick or treat'rs tomorrow

Thomaston, CT

It was cloudy & 57 here today---the sun peeped out a half hour before it set---yep, showers here tomorrow, and DS & his crew here for dinner tomorrow night--yipee. Ten kids? I'd be insane---can barely watch my 3 GKs. Don't know why I had such an easy labor---maybe because I was planting daffs & making grape juice just a few days before.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Guys! Allison - your focus is where it should be! I hope you and Randy are ready for tomorrow night! Enjoy!

Iris - I can barely keep up with OUR weeds in 2 states! LOL

I had to take Hank to the doctor today.....he stepped into a fire ant hill on the golf course 2 days ago and had a ton of bites; after 2 days, a secondary infection set in and his leg started swelling. Whew....glad we got in to see a doctor today. Serious stuff! Miserable too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Feel better, Hank! I'd probably be dead if that happened to me.

South Hamilton, MA

Weeds in one state are enough for me.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

He's lucky, Victor. He has a serious allergy to bee stings and uses an epipen for that after a life-threatening event years ago. We did not realize that the fire ant venom is in the same family. He had no serious symptoms until today, strangely, except for the stinging locally. He is on antibiotics now, along with some other meds and a helpful cream.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

You're a smart lady, Iris! LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

owie, I hate those fire ants...I stepped on a fire ant hill when we were in FL when I was about 3 or 4, my parents threw me in the hotel pool.

Hope he's better soon.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - scary, Louise.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

60, dark overcast and drizzle. Yucky day for the kids.

South Hamilton, MA

supposedly 70 a bit of a nasty wind though so is cooler by feel.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Jen! He thinks they are a bit better today and he had a better night last night. He's keeping his leg elevated for the swelling. This is a shot of his ankle.... Pretty dicey-looking, huh?

OMG, Louise---looks awful---hugs to Hank! In the mid 60's here, very overcast all day, but I've had the windows opened---feels good.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow! Best to Hank. Stick it out the window today!! Great to scare the kids. ^_^

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Marilyn!
Victor - that's a great idea!! Guess who gets to hand out the candy???? LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

so sorry to hear about Hank... hope he feels better soon!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How did the kids like your extravaganza, Allison?!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

just posted a long post on the coffee break thread... some loved it and some were not sure if it was all ok with them.. but most were going crazy... heard comments like "this is the best house EVERRR"... the little boy had a christmas morning sound to him when he said it... made our night... Randy and I want to set up a microphone down by the street so we can hear what they are saying... would be fun to be a fly on the wall.. I am still not sure if the parents love it more than the kids do.. at one point we had 15 adults just standing there watching while the kids went house to house on our street.. one of our neighbors was asking advice on how to set some things up .. they must have stopped by 5 or 6 times in the last few days... makes us feel good

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great!!!
