I have a good friend that lives over in indy, close to seymore, I will be driving over there the 15th of Nov. to take her some things for Christmas, all you do is go from here to Lawranceburg take a left stay on rt 50 till you get to her town
then I call her to come get me, it takes about 2&1/2 hrs, she is the one that gave me the Apricot moonflower, plus a lot of seedlings

Blooming Brug
Have you tried to grow a sanquina?
Those seem to belong with brugs, do they??
Charleen
I have been to Seymore, right after I moved to In. It is very pretty there.I thought you were talking about Indianapolis..lol.. That's where I hate driving..lol. That is really nice of you to visit her. I bet you have a great time!

Charlene
I do have a sanguina, the red one & a cross rosa lillaX wildfire, I am waiting for them to bloom, the I'll take a close up shot, so you can see what they look like you can grow those from seed
Elizabeth
How long does it take from plant to seed, Elizabeth...longer than one year?
Dee
All rightee!! I knew you probably
had one. Do you pollinate them too?
Thee has been some pretty brugs showing up on this brug forum here lately,
Have you seen them. I love them all.
There is a beautiful pink dbl. that is gorgeous.
Charleen

it's nice of her, she treats me like family I met her on GW, she came over here & spent the night, then this spring I went to her house & spent the night, we went to all the nursery's we had the best visit, when she came over here I sent her home with some plants & she brought a bunch here, I think we were both trying to down size
she is about the sweetest friend, I am sooo glad I met her
Elizabeth
Charlene
I leave the pollinating to the experts, I just got lucky to get that cross, but next year is a different story, I will try my hand at pollinating, both the Brugs & the sangs, I have seen the beautiful double pinks, every year there are more new Brugs
there are some great people working on that, Elizabeth is a new one this year, Angels moonlight is new, the list goes on, phanomenal is a fairly new one, that's why you need to be a member at BGI, you can see all the new ones, just registered
Elizabeth
That, IS nice Elizabeth! I think gardeners just love sharing, don't you?
Yes,Charleen there have been some pictures of some beautiful doubles..
Dee
Maybe the first of the month. Do they take checks?
I don't like CC. Don't use them, leave that to DH.
Charleen
Dream Angel is the one I
was talking about. I love that one.
Charleen
Dee
thanks, we do love sharing don't we
Elizabeth
Yep, me too.
Charleen
Yes, it is very pretty. I am supposed to get that one in a trade, but I haven't got the second 1/2 of that trade, yet...so We'll see..lol. I have read that it's a hard one to get to bloom, tho.
Dee
Charlene
they take money orders & paypal, I will sending a money order next Thursday, if it's something that works for you I have the addy, anyway you can see all the new Brugs, plus they also have a classified section
Elizabeth
Alright, I can do a money order.
That would work.
Charleen
Charlene
I just might know someone that has Dream Angel, I will check with her, she has some beauty's, I think I remember her having that one
Elizabeth
Do you have any Amaryllis?, i have some
red ones, that probably need thinning.
Dee or Elizabeth.
Charleen
I always buy a red one at Christmas time. They are so pretty!
Dee
Dee
I don't think any Brug would be as hard as herrinhauser Garten, that thing kept setting buds then they would fall off, if it would've Bloomed it's beautiful it's an orange double, I had it for 2 yrs, but it bloomes in a GH, so richard will send me a Pic when it does, he runs the GH at the university
Elizabeth
Was the heat too much for it??
Is that why it wouldn't bloom?
They have a more controlled environment
in a GH>
Charleen
That would be so frustrating, Elizabeth, but it nice that you will get to see a pic of it blooming.
Dee
Charlene
I do have a bunch of the red Amaryllis, I buy them when they go for $1.00 at the end of the season, not this year though
they never rebloom at Christmas either it's feb. or in the summer, that's one plant I need to put in the fridge over night
just to see if it'll bloom at Christmas
Elizabeth
Charlene
that could have been it, I just wasn't going to winter it over itgot huge, so I need the space for the ones that did Bloom
they were happy to get it, their students are learning how to air layer
Elizabeth
Girls, I am gonna get off for tonight. I have to give Scooter a bath...He had too much fun playing outside today. He is gray..lol Talk to you tomorrow.
Dee
Dee
it is nice that they send you Pic's to let you know how they're doing, as soon as I get it I will post it, but 2 years of waiting I wasn't going to do it for another year, besides Langbushers Garten has almost the same color Bloom & it's a double
Elizabeth
usually just keep mine alive, then in Spring plant them and leave them in the ground.
Then they come up and bloom when they are ready.
Guess I'll leave for the night too.
Goodnight all.
Charleen
Good night Dee
sleep well, don't let Scooter drown you
Elizabeth
Goodnight Charlene
sleep well
Elizabeth
