FROST ON THE GYPSIES, Hello Fall

Keaau, HI

I use broadhead razors Trina. I broke my last ones target practicing with my brother (need to remember to get more), he also shot a few holes in my tool shed, as he kept missing the target. I let him practice at home (his home) now.

Can't say I blame you there Dave, We use to have a 40 acre farm we let people hunt one year, OMG city folk need to stay in the city, they mistook our big old horse CoCo for dear and our big black lab, hit the propane tank and the barn, that was the end of renting to hunters!

Keaau, HI

That's cold enough for Fall, Rachel. I guess all of your tropicals have to be indoors by now.

Trina, I wonder if that Orchid is a cross Generic hybrid. The dead dry roots can be trimmed off. Take the plant out of the pot and look at the roots. If there are a lot of dead looking roots there, it means that the Orchid is getting too much water. Repotting it is a good idea.

I just "rescued" it from wal-mart so it could be. I lifted it up and its in a plastic container inside the metal pot and it's definatly a little moist gonna keep it out and let it dry some...trying to convince BF to let me go "rescue" some more of them, a white one with BIG flowers, a white one with red centers, a pale yellow, a nifty looking green and ALL the purple ones....I love purple.

Venice not actually scuba diving more like snorkling had his face in the water. The bowl is pretty big.

After digging through a bunch of totes I finally found the devil costume. This was the very first costume I ever made about 24 years ago and I can't count how many kids have worn it. People I use to work with was always borrowing costumes at Halloween.

Smiley, that lamp is absolutely beautiful!!!

How long have you had those daylillies? I got some and maybe I should have waited to plant them so they would have had a better start. Mine look pretty good outside. One pooped out and one is just barely trying to grow But all others are growing but not as big as yours!!!

Dave, how do you catch your fish? I bet you can have fresh fish anytime you want it.
I didn't know that you had so many bad critters and people around where you live.

Trina, can you pull out one of your seed drawers and take a photo? Or just measure the size of it, 3 dimensions, then I can get a good idea of what it is like.

I made new poles for my trees and tied the trees to them. I cut abou 20 leaves from the better tree because of brown edges. The trees looks really bare now!!!

Keaau, HI

Sounds like you'll have a rainbow of Orchid flowers!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, that costume is really darling!!! You have made other costumes?

Trina, have you ever visited that school that your kids are going to now?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Heres the back, if he'll stand still. It use to have a wire in the tail that made it stand out, but through the years has been removed.

Love that costume jjsgramma and what a cutey he is.

Hey Carol, I catch most of my fish at the supermarket. I do have fishing equipment, but don't have the ability to get down to the coast often enough to keep fish on the table.

I eat a lot of Mahimahi, as it is high in Omega-3 oil.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, are your stores very far away? Mahimahi is very good even when it travels all the way here.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Venice I think I have made every Power Ranger and Ninja Turtle known to man. Let see then I made a bat, sylvester the cat ,beetlejuice, dopey dwarf, a wizard, a belly dancer, Dallas cowboy cheerleader, a black ninja, that shredder guy from the turles movie, a skunk, a pea pod, a catfish, little red riding hood and the big bad wolf, a werewolf and a dracula et. ect.

Here is my puppy

JJ, that is so cute!!! Is your GS going to model all of your costumes?

Do you make those costume's yourself jjs?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Venice yes I have been to both schools, they suck
and the drawers are (inner dimensions) 3" wide 4" deep and 12" long, there are 15 drawers across and 5 rows of drawers, I am only using 3 drawers right now, tropicals, perennials, and annuals, once I get some veggie seeds I will use a 4th drawer

and here is the best I can do on the "babies"

Those are the only two I have that will fit him right now, Venice. I use to have a He-Man with muscles but can't find it or the Incredible Hulk that would be his size.

Yes, Rachel all by myself. Use to start sewing about three to four weeks before Halloween, and never failed, someone would change their mind a couple days before Halloween. Sometimes they got it sometimes not. (yes they were spoiled and if I dropped a pin you could count on DH stepping on it)
Those were the days!

Still have some of the costumes and some of them were recycled into something else.
Now sometimes you can get really nice ones from ebay cheaper than you can make them.
I have a tigger, a pooh, and the honey pot and a tazmania devil that are all disney costumes.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I use to do that for Kenny, his favorite costume of choice of costume and trust getting his little butt out of it afterwards was a pain, but it was a duck, a yellow duck, fuzzy with big orange feet that fit over his shoes, but now with mine and his and they are getting older I don't make there's anymore But I do occassionally make mine, and have patterns for several

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oops just thought of something, you don't suppose those roots are dead because of the stupid Ice Cube thing do you Dave?

Wow jjs. your a very talented seamstress. I bet the Disney costume's are adorable too.

Trina, you got a lot of plant's sitting all around you;-)

I am going out to cover up some plant's that are still blooming. Heck it's going to get awful close to freezing tonight.

You ladie's have a great evening.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

bye Rachel hope you'll be on later I got another Late night ahead of me, so I'll be on all day....ooohh Matt's home from guard duty, he has to go back tomorrow though cause it's his weekend

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oh I am so Bad

hey where'd everybody go?

This is the oldest Matt, he looks so impressed doesn't he? He hates having his picture taken so I was shocked he let me take it!

Thanks Rachel, but I've never sewn anything but a costume that ever came out right.
I think its because they are made big to fit over clothes and are usually big and baggy and basically they are all a jumpsuit.

Learned fast to use basting stitch, much easier to rip out, then go back and sew with regular stitch.

Trina I have a big box of patterns somewhere. Some pieces have never been used and others have all but disinegrated they have been used so much. Sure was fun when they were little though.

I have a rose that is still blooming, but don't know how. The poor thing has been through freezing temps already. Planted one out to my friends house and it was so cool because it was their 55th wedding anniversary yesterday and I took them out supper and that knockout rose had a pretty red bloom on it, just for them.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

He looks thrilled Trina.

Sent Dillon to the garage with papa so I better make good use of my time and get something ready for supper. Think his dad forgot where we live, maybe he worked late?

Later All

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I need a vacation! kids can't go 2 seconds today without fighting I swear and they all have at least 1 friend here! and tinks collar had been cut off of her when I came back from getting Amanda. she has a sore side, and she just wants held (no Blakes not home) Kenny said he found her running around the front yard. So I yelled at him because when I left he was supposed to be sitting in the front with her while she was on her chain. So I made them all leave and I have a few moments of blissful silence...is it monday yet?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Well, there is mama Trina and your babies!!!!

Is Matt in basic training for the army? He has that standard cute haircut!!

Guess what! I got a package labeled -- Live plant material do not delay delivery! And in the box was a very nice address book and pretty gardening gloves, which I have never had! Such a surprise!!!! Thank you Trina!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, I know what you need! A baby sling! One that would fit both babies. Then you could go about and do things. And they will still be happy. What do you think? I bet JJ could even sew one for you!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I might have a pattern around here for one, use to make alot of baby stuff, but I don't know anybody with babies anymore

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You would just need to make it big enough. One for 2 babies!!!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)
