Coffee Break #20 - Baseball weather??

South Hamilton, MA

Solution to protect toddlers: open the windows from the top!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Talk about 'by a hair'! I too watched it several times.....notice he picks up the briefcase higher. I don't think i'd worry about the brief-c, i'd of dropped it in favor of more speed for running! lol

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Staying in shape is good.
Looking better would bemy recomendation.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

One looks better when in shape. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

not sure if that was real - that bus appears to be moving way to fast through a small intersection

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I haven't heard the 'Fly Over Land' expression before. I'm good with it. Less peoples mucking about when the rest of us visit all the good parts in between. Let's just keep it our little secret ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

It's real.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

bus driver didn't even think about stopping.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The bus lost its brakes.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Scary for everybody!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh - got home before to find two JM stumps. All the branches were off and were chewed upon. Looks to me like the work of a woodchuck. I'm pissed. Lots of $ down the drain.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Sorry to hear that Victor :(

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

very sorry to here that victor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

That is a shame! Sorry Victor :-(

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

How much wood did that woodchuck chuck?

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Ouch!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

that's a yankee fan for you

South Hamilton, MA

Tough luck, Victor. Can you wrap a wire mesh around the trees for the winter to discourage chewers? We have a 'chuck' here eating acorns, but I would love some way to do it in.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i have heard they have trouble swimming

South Hamilton, MA

So we build pools at the edges of the yard?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I had the same woodchuck question in mind.

I don't usually pay much attention to the Yankees but could this pitcher BE any bigger??? For pete's sake 290lbs?????

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I don't care if he's 490, he's great.

Sorry about your loss Victor. Didn't mean it to sound mean.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What's with these lousy umps tonight???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks all.

No problem, Dave.

CC is definitely a large dude. Lucky he does not have to run the bases. Weird plays and call tonight! What was Cano doing?? Not to mention Posada. Weird. A-Rod ia all confidence now.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Were the JM's new ones??? That really stinks.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

best team money can buy

as for the woodchucks - have-a-heart-trap - and re-locate - where you relocate is your own decision - some have chosen that they do not hurt other gardens too

South Hamilton, MA

Come on, Bill--it is against the law to relocate in MA.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

One was a new Koto no ito from the spring. The other was a nice Ukigumo from last spring.

I see so many woodchucks around so I doubt I could trap effectively. This is the first time I've had damage from them.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Does Liquid Fence work on them?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sorry Victor... I would get a bunch of have a hearts

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

victor i would be sick and on the hunt

iris fortunately i have not had a problem with groundhogs/woodchucks yet - kinda surprising actually - i am not sure if moving a woodchuck is illegal here - i have friends that have done it - of course they also have not been caught - and i have other friends that make sure they meet thier maker

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

DH would be the ground hogs maker......and taker. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

shhh (me too)

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

So sorry Victor. Are any of them salvageable? maybe dig them up and put in pots indoors until they recover. Are they too big for that?

South Hamilton, MA

Your pals are illegal, that is if their town is still in MA. Glad that you have not had problems with woodchucks; they are a pain.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

wha I think your snakes ate the chucks. Victor maybe you should get snakes?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Bill, I crack up when a fan of a team with one of the highest payrolls in baseball complains about the highest payroll in baseball. That complaint belongs to the Royals or Marlins fans not the Red Sox.

The officiating was horrible. Fortunately it wasn't a close game. But the official at third base made 3 or 4 bad calls. He's supposed to be very good (usually).

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Some products to get rid of them include the smell of fox, their worst enemy. I wonder if dog or cat urine would do the trick. maybe sprinkle the litter box around...just an idea....
