Nope.
My poor Phillies.
Coffee Break #20 - Baseball weather??
Finished putting up some decorative shelves in my bedroom because hubby never finished doing it. He can't stand when I buy stuff made in China. It was going good until the one shelf ended up not level and I couldn't figure out why...I had a level and ruler and measured it out properly...I was like "what the heck is going on???" then I figured it out...the one shelf was actually thinner than the other one throwing it off. UGH! So of course I had to break out the spackle and fill in the holes and now have to touch up the paint. Oh well, looks good though. I'm so proud of myself.
Good job! (Can't count on that Chinese junk for quality.)
good for you Jen!!
do not get flu shots myself - figure it is better to build up the immunities - my wife the DON (dir. of nursing) gets one every year and will get the N1H1 next week i think - she thinks i'm nuts - hope she is not a carrier
I have to admit to a story that happened about 21 years ago. My dad had given me some cash for my birthday so I went shopping. My son was around 2, I unbuckled his car seat, and got the stroller out, a little fold up one. I unfolded it but something was stuck on it so I was bending down trying to fix it. When I stood back up, my son was gone. I panicked. looked all over the car even under the seats. A car drove away. I was almost crying. Then my son toddles around from the front of the car. I ended up buying him a giant stuffed green dinosaur!
I'm leaving here soon to go visit him.
Now I have to go back to check the link I skipped.
my one niece was good for taking off the second you stopped paying attention.. it's a terrible feeling Deb
good morning everyone. it is a lovely 52 down here, feels so good after roasting all summer.
Hi Wren, sorry to hear your having surgery and so many problems but you have been missed.^_^
You asked if anyone knew how hard it was to type with one hand and it be your left hand.......not that bad, im left handed! lol Just kidding sweetie, I can imagine it's no fun!!
How's that handsome boy Andre doing??
Andre is still overly "fluffy" (read fat) and full of mischief he hurt his back jumping for a ball so we have had to cut back on the excising. Or I should say it was the wild landings that hurt his back. Has not slowed him down a lot, he spent some time in "time out" this morning after I pulled him out of the trash can.
Shoulder feels better today so am typing with both hands. LOL
Joyce (are you here yet?) many thanks for that link. Turns out I have not read one single book by Enid Blyton! I think I was thinking of Enid Bagnold's name and Rumer Godden's books.
I hope everyone's joints feel better! I'm dealing with severe tendonitis myself that maybe is a pinched nerve or something. Ouchie and one-armed typing,
As I have asthma, Dr insists on seasonal flu vaccine. I once got flu after one, but that was a long time ago & i was probably incubating the flu at the time, so vaccine had no affect. I am in the age catagory which doesn't need the H1N1 but if doc says so will get it, after all he has kept me breathing.
Hope work on the arm & knee goes well. Pain is no fun. message from IrisMA, temp freezing in Ohio
Thanks. Wish my knee were better, but it's not.
Terrible scare, Deb.
I think they are recommending everyone get the H1N1 sot.
Hi Wren. Sorry to hear about your surgery. Hope everything goes well. Just taking a quick break from digging dahlias. Back later.
Just got a car ins. statement I DO NOT understand. "The automobile of the first party must not impact. the automobile of the second party, unless identified and not convicted or identified as traveling at an excessive rate of speed." Blah blah blah.
I've heard nothing but bad things about that H1N1 vaccine.
You need a lawyer to understand those insurance policies.
In the photo, Andre is airborne!
A nice pick-me-up on a gray day...
too cute though
Very cute! And athletic.
Anyone ever have these snacks? They are great. And natural, gluten, cholesterol and trans fat free. Really yummy!
http://www.foodshouldtastegood.com/#/home/
(puff, puff, puff) well that's all the digging I can do for today. Dahlias are looking very tuberlifik this year ^_^ Bernie I'm glad to hear your family only had mild cases of the dreaded flu. I don't think I will get a shot. E had a flu shot once and ended up in the hospital and I have his genetics so I think I'll pass. flowerjen you should be proud of your shelves! I bet they look fabby! Carrie are you sure that is car insurance? Sounds like UFO insurance to me. I just luv Andre's dances ^_^
will have to give them a try
Those snacks sound yummy.
Victor, where do you get them? Gluten free and edible is a good combo.
I get them at the Stop & Shop near me, Carrie. Before was the first time I was on their website and did see they sell directly - by the case. Probably cheaper that way.
The page wouldn't open for me. What kind of snacks are they? Apples?
Okay, Victor, people who like reality tv shows or who participate in them are no different than you or me!
I can't believe that kid didn't get killed by the train. That poor mother must have been screaming her head off. I think I would have fainted!
LOL! Yeah, big therapy in balloon boy's and balloon family's future, Cousin Nut.
Victor, I'm jealous over the hot tub! I want to be soaking in one right now. I just did a lot of work in the garden and yard.
I got my seasonal flu shot about 2 wks ago. I've never gotten sick from it.
Victor and Wren, good luck on your surgeries! I hope you both have quick recoveries. Nice to see you back again, Wren, even if just for a little while. Yes, you've been missed.
Marilyn, you should have given that mother the one finger salute! But, really, there is no way a mother or father can keep an eye on their children every single second, and it doesn't take long for something to happen. I don't have kids myself, but I do know this for a fact and sympathize with those who have little ones to care for.
Victor, I will have to let some of my friends who are gluten intolerant about those snacks. It's hard to find gluten free stuff that tastes good.

Oh, I just wanted to mention about the balloon boy incident, how could anyone believe that a helium filled balloon, giant or not, would be capable of lifting a boy of that size (or any size for that matter) into the air and taking him for a ride? It's preposterous! I think Mythbusters show did an episode once where they busted a myth about something very large filled with helium being able to lift a person up. It would have to be the size of the Hindenburg or something like that.
Karen
mythbusters did it

here is another one

Not sure how small the kid is, but the officials seemed to believe it was possible. Looking more and more like a fake, as I thought. I look forward to these idiot parents being charged.
Another classic game last night! Lots of sloppy defense, but very exciting. Not over until 1:10.
Wow - how horrible about the UConn football player.
Tell us.
such a shame
Okay, so MB did it, but that was a lot of helium and a lot of balloons. I don't think the one the balloon boy was supposedly in would have lifted a child. Yeah, I hope the parents get charged.
Karen
They should have to pay the salaries of all the cops and rescue personnel they called out.
Saw on the news tonight the story of the UConn football player who was murdered--very sad. All the pics of him show him smiling, and in one tape he describes how lucky he felt to have escaped the streets of little Hati in Fla--via football. His poor family...
They said that size balloon would not have carried that kid - as small as he is. The whole thing was a hoax, as I expected all along. They should have to pay everything, go to jail and lose their kids.
