.......... that's a cat food?!?!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ug, I'm back, it's pouring out there! I had a big umbrella and I still got soaked! My hair is going to frizz and curl! Yes that's cat food! LOL I had to go to PetSmart...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahahahaha & I thought you Really were going out for Human Lunch lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, when something like that happens to me I always thank the Lord, who knows, you might have been infront of that poor old slow poke and been in an accident or something..patience girl..

Susan, you are just too cute for words..glad you married your dh too..lol

Shaking my head here, OMG, who would know (I should have because of the selling pitch) known that the serger had an automatic threader (kind of) boy was I trying to do the impossible...

Owner John sat me down showed me how, easy as 1-2-3..think I might have to take him home just incase..

The salesclerk took me over to show me the Janome Memory Craft 11000-imagine, almost $10,000.does everything..lordy it's so tempting..wanted me to sit and try it out, thank the Lord I only had 1 hr. for lunch...also looked at the Memory Craft 350E embroidery machine..they've come so far since I purchased my Janome 9000..asked if I traded it in how much I might get...she thought around $600...think I payed close to $3,000 when it first come out..IF I did trade in I'd give my machines to Melanie as she's shown an interest in sewing..would be an upgrade for her...

Still painting..Christmas is coming you know...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you Betty - you're one in a million, Lady ^_^

Blessings to everyone ^_^
None of you truly realize how much you mean to me, but I bless you every day.........
Now, if I can stop being so hard on myself, cuz others aren't, life will be truly beautiful, I know it!!

~Susan~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, you have to wonder why we are so hard on ourselves...we'd hug a friend, forgive an enemy and yet to ourselves we take everything to heart...

We should treat ourselves they way we'd treat a stranger shouldn't we?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

You're so right, Betty, and women are the worst (Canadian women apologize more than any other gender, or country.........have you ever noticed that?).

I've had people say I judge them, but I don't - I'm harder on myself than anyone else could be. Born worrier, that's me LOL
Anyway, I've had a relaxing weekend, and I feel like I've got more of a "handle" on my new responsiblities at work, so I'm starting to ease the "yoke" on myself. I'm even leaving work only 15 minutes late, instead of 2 1/2 hours unauthorized overtime..........

Anyway, I'm relaxing, so I can get things done I meant to do, and that's freeing, in itself. Taking things off my "to do" list makes it so much more handle-able.

Thanks for caring and understanding, Betty. You're wonderful ^_^

~Susan~

~~~~~~~Hi Mary!!!
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Good Morning!!
I'm having a testy morning, one of the guys here rolled his eyes at me this morning getting onto the elevator and someone else won't quit talking so I can read and enjoy my morning!
LOL Betty, I don't have any of those patience things, and it's proven right now!
Good Grief.
I guess I'll see everyone in a while, packing up and taking everything to the hotel today for the big conference tomorrow and Friday.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Morning, there is a stranger in town, sunshine peeping out of a few clouds...brrrr it's mighty cold, first time I've had to scrape the car windshield...makes one appreciate being inside with heat.
Called Caleb last night to get info on that Vampire Chicken costume..said I'd been searching the web, some a cartoon version..asked if that was the right one...'no grannie, I just want to be a chicken vampire..he's just like a real chicken..white with red stripes!' so I ask, 'red and white stripes, could you mean Caleb that because he's a vampire he has blood on him and not stripes?' too funny, he says 'yes, that's what I mean grannie!' so now I'm on the right track...tried to find a chicken pattern, no find, so guess I'll play it by ear..
Just like a kid waiting for Christmas Eve...2 more days and I go to Frankenmuth...might get me motivated..
Mary, how have you been doing?
Victoria Harbour, ON
OMG Debbie..no Target stores here but there must be one in Flint or somewhere where I'll be this weekend..I could just convert it into what I need..tks..you are a sweetheart..
Debbie, mom just called, wants to go back to Buffalo, scheduling for possibly Nov. 6th/7th and come home on the 8th..even checked hotel availability..Super 8 just down on Niagara Falls Blvd. has rooms (thank goodness)..guess I'll make the booking...
Glenview, IL
I know i have shared this with you Betty but i wanted to share it again.
By the Way Betty! Happy Anniversary to US...
It is now 3 years since you and i have met through Daves Garden...
and it is Because of You and Liz, Jaye, Deborah and lots of others throughout the threads
Thinking about this this morning, I think Carol answered my call!
Love You All.
Carol Jean La Barge-
Just One More Call
When I am lonely, I cannot help but to think of you and cry some more.
It can’t be helped the tears just come, somewhere from the deep inside.
I hear you say Jude it’s ok, you’ll be alright, I am here right now with you.
I sense the strength of your hug once more. I see that smile meant just for me.
I wish too, the phone would ring and laughter is the sound I’d hear. But that can’t be
Cause I did the calling and you would do the laughing.
I did the crying and you did the cheering,
I did the yelling you did the calming
I tell you my dreams and you did the encouraging.
No matter what the time you always made it mine.
Now I know it’s sad but I wish I could call just one more time.
I would say to you, Hello, sister where are you?
I would say I want to give you a hug too.
I would say you are missed, by me and all who knew you.
But most of all I would say How very much I love you.
Our conversation would be long and I’ld have a drink for us to share.
One more time I want to hear your voice say HI!
One more time I would thank you Carol, for just being you.
One more time we would tease about our age and now it’s not fair cause I am the oldest
Sort to say, I could just hear you laugh and say now who’s got the silver in her hair
One more time we would laugh and giggle over just anything.
.One more time I would thank you sister for taking care of me.
One more time I wish to hear you say and I love you too.
There is so much I have to say. I just wonder if you can see the display.
I know your there cause I feel your warmth in my dismay.
I want you to know the strength Julia showed when you left me.
I want you to know Jacob still talks to you.
I want you to know how Sabrina gives me hugs from you.
I want you to know that even Steve tells tales of you.
Waite… I have to take a break – Let’s have another drink while we wait.
Oh My Gosh Carol Bear, there is still so much I have to share.
No one really cares what I have got to say. They all have got their own way.
You understood where I am, what I do and the whys of me.
You showed your love for me since we were small, always their when I would fall.
You shook me off and say try again. There is no point in giving in the hard part is already done with the start. Now go on don’t hesitate and don’t make the same mistake.
Then. We’ld laugh and giggle.
You made me laugh and see humor at most everything. Especially despair.
You helped me realize there is always repair.
The people we met along the way has been lots of fun too for us to share.
We sang and danced, cried and cheered, Drank up a storm, played some games,
Watched and discussed movies and read the same books.
Oh my, if just one more time we could discuss the ways of everyday life.
Would you scold or hold me for all the things I have felt.
Pangs of guilt, for not calling Ginni. -not that I don’t care because I very much do.
I know Shawn is right there and Bummer too.
I’ve tried more than once just to say hi and each time I’ve missed her.
A Very poor excuse from me and I know you would agree.
So I will go and write a note just for Gin to see.
I’ll return again in just a few minutes. Here…have a drink on me.
So… my sister, I have many things yet to say I just don’t know where to begin.
Carol, we talked about everything-except for one thing. Our biggest plan was to get old together. Now who is to teach me, warning of all the things that should happen?
Who now is going to laugh at my stupid little jokes. Who I wonder is going to push me when I need a coax. And tell me life is not just a hoax.
Sigh…It’s been a long 5 months.
Still I hear your laugh at the little things that make me giggle.
I ‘ve been in a lost state of mind. Well not really lost, just boggled!
I walk in a daze, lost in the haze. Who’s to tell me which way to turn in this maze.
I know in my heart you had to go-it was just your time. I’ve come to terms with that just because the way you were called. I have to admit I am really glad that you were scooped up so quick you didn’t see. That is what comforts me.
I hope you don’t think me a coward, as I could not see you that way. I had all intention to run in and make sure it was really you. My brain was screaming it just can’t be.
As it was time all I could think is I don’t want to remember you this horrific way. So Steve went in and hugged me tight because I was right. I heard from our brother the details and that was enough because I just am not that tough. The call alone was enough.
Writing to you just like now is sort of like talking to you somehow. I think for me it’s a good release, a simple way to ease my pain. This, my sister, is to be the phone line from here on. The phone number is love clicking away with each stroke of key.
I am thirsty, let’s get a drink RC for me-help yourself if you wish.
Carol Bear…I think you are with me all the time, just as mom and our sisters.
Even though I cannot see or hear you, the echo of your love is locked within my heart and soul.
Sometimes I am blue if I could call.
Just one more time-Here is one conversation I had to say.
H E L L O my sister where are you?
I want to talk to you,
can you hear?
Where are you?
I want your arms grasped in a bear hug around me
can you feel me?
I am shaking.
Can’t help crying.
Where are you?
Why do you not visit?
I can’t see you.
My heart is hurting
I don’t hear you.
Bear, where are you?
Got no one to tease,
Or talk, everyone’s mad
Cause I am not pleased.
Are your hands on your hips?
To hear that from my lips.
What’s the number to heaven? How do I call?
Can you hear my call? It’s long distance from hear on earth-
To the Spirit world called Heaven.
Person to Spirit-Babe to Bear.
Sister to Sister.
I wonder where you are and what your doing. Are you visiting all those you have missed?
Are you with our sisters causing mischief with the angels? How are my boys?
There are so many questions answered only by my Faith.
I have to share with you. My faith sister is what makes me go. Each day I get stronger and willing to keep going. Do better, laugh louder and harder. Remember what I have here and now. Enjoy each day I am given. Loving those around me. One day at time.
I am Thankful for this gift…Life.
Without you it’s a little harder but then I realize you’re only gone from sight not heart.
I go on.
Love,
JudyBabe
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
I forgot to say - got about 5" of snow on my car this am, to shovel off before I could drive lol
It was really beautiful Christmas powder. So pretty, but so treacherous driving.
Yesterday there were over 350 accidents in Calgary, from the snow (1st big one of the season......) Yes, I did say 350!
Today I believe there were fewer accidents, but the ones we had were major ones. At least one fatality....
I drove in 2nd gear......... There was one patch on an off-ramp that caused me to spin around last year (with a car behind me, but going much slower so I was in no danger.........). This am when I came to that off-ramp, I was very cautious........
Anyway, safe & sound, and it's going back to fall weather (y'know - the stuff we skipped to go right to winter?), this week. I'm looking forward to it. The snow will melt, and I'll get to clean up the yard lol.
Morning, finally getting my act into gear...
For anyone wishing to join our 3rd. DG Christmas Workshop, I'll post the following thread link...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1048304/
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
very tempting, Betty, but I think I'd better beg off..... I was here until 6:30 again last night, and my boss was asking "why". Simple answer - more responsibilities, means more learning curve and I was learning how to use the library cataloguing program on my system. Yesterday I did a meeting, and 2 teleconference setups. Nice they were in the same room, but still had all the other stuff involved with them, to do ^_^
I really love the extra learning & responsibilities, but sometimes I can't be in 2 places at once LOL
I think, after the Christmas Apron swap and the Tote Bag swap, that I'll have to stop swapping for awhile....... but I'm still here to yak LOL
Victoria Harbour, ON
Tubby, keeping my eye on the morning 'smile'...hope you are gaining strength..perhaps in the morning I'll go in search of a 'tubby' smile and post it for you..
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)
Trisha - what little boy?
~Susan~
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
A kid in Colorado let his Dad's weather balloon get loose....he hid, they thought he was up in the balloon...had the national guard, police, FAA and every other agency around called out...after about five hours they find out he was hiding in the garage attic.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Trisha, did you see the interview when they asked the little boy why didn't he answer when called???? he said because of the show or film??? they are starting to think this was staged...what's your thoughts on it..
Looking for a joke for 'Tubby' not sure where he finds them all..lol...
Off to the USA this aft. - too excited for words...to make my day brighter I was checking craft shows and on Nov.6th/7th and not far from Buffalo there is one with over 250 vendors...great weekend to pick to go away with mom..lol
Can't you tell I've the Christmas bug???
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
Just checking in.......haven't been doing a lot....a tiny bit of painting, a little housework and working with one of Bill's employees to find a home, clothing, baby supplies and financial assistance for a 16 year old who is due to have her baby any day now, she is homeless as her parents threw her out. Mary has found a place for the girl to live...my Church is putting a notice in this weeks newsletter with a list of the things she needs so we will probably have more baby things than she will need by next weekend. But if that happens, Mary knows many others who can use some help also. She is a single mother herself and does a lot of work trying help out the growing population of homeless kids in our area.
Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)
Hi guys, it has been so long since I popped in here. Got laid off again on the first, since we got fired from NASA and the new company took the girl who was there longest, and let me and the other new girl go. They underbid this contract considerably.
There are a growing number of homeless kids and adults everywhere in this economy now. The parks in CA are full of homeless people sleeping in the park. The cities let them because it is easier to keep eye on crime. After all if one out of 7 people in LA county is unemployed, what options do people have?
Nice to see you guys up to thread 123 or something like that.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Hello everyone. Just checking in. Tubby, hope you are doing OK, and getting lots of rest?
Laura, from downunder, I heard on the news that Australia is burning again. I do hope your not near it?
Betty, hope you are home, and getting things unpacked. Please tell us how your trip went?
Baton Rouge, LA
Hello All;
I might be getting a new computer soon...Hopefully.... :)
Once I do - it will be easier to get on here more often... I miss you all !
Hey Betty, Judy, Trisha....Everyone ! It does get hard to catch up once I'm off for a bit. DH and I visited the nursery today for the first time in a while...I think I'm getting a bit rusty...I've forgotten plant names and the like.....
I feel that it has been 2 months since I've been in my backyard....It has rained it seems for 2 months....
I am still trying to fit in at my new job...and work hard....Still on 'trial' I feel.....
and Band ....DS's Senior year....trying to figure out what do to next....Homecoming is next weekend....Senior pics....Game Thursday....I'm supposed to 'feed the band'....So gotta figure that out...
But I miss you all and will be back soon... (((HUGS)))
Mary
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
Miss you Mary....just keep checking in so we know you are still around!
Tubby and Shirley....miss you guys too....hope all is going well. ((((Hugs and prayers)))
Victoria Harbour, ON
Dawn, how nice to see you drop in...I'm so sorry you've been laid off..you were enjoying the work were you not? Do you have enough unemployment insurance to get you through the winter so you can look for other avenues of employment? Hope so..how's Greg doing?
Morning everyone, or is it? bit confused..left Friday afternoon to go to Frankenmuth Mi. ...got there after 10pm, shopped at a few 24 hr. stores..up and out at 8am, never got in till 10pm (talk about shop till you drop) up early Sun. and shopped all day..never left the outlet till 6pm..ran into long wait at the border, the traffic near Sarnia...omg, 4am when we got home, did a load of wash this a.m./picked up a few goodies for the office (diet foods) and was here 10 minutes early..
Rita had her camera with her..we took photo's of all we bought..anything that had packaging had to be taken out of the package .. there wasn't a square inch that didn't have something, including on our lap, under the seat, even sitting on bags...we've got to come up with something different next year..like rent a motorhome..lol..
Going to put my head back and close my eyes, Paul said he'd wake me if he needs me...now there's a BOSS!
Didn't go crazy at Bonners but did purchase a few ornaments to include in my 'christmas garden ornament swap'..found the cutest kayak ornament for Jeff...because my Christmas Workshop might be a deer, was able to find a parking meter that I can duplicate which says 'deer parking" with a changeable meter reading that says 'Santa's been' it's adorable..will put it together and post a photo...
I'm also in a birdfeeder swap, don't have my name as yet but found the cutest feeder..should have bought 2 but NO ROOM! Next year perhaps...laughing here, maybe they should include our names in the picking and I wouldn't feel so bad keeping it if I got ME!...might make that suggestion...
Bought some clothes, a few scarves, jacket..some Christmas gifts..when I saw what the others were buying and there was no room, thought I'd let them shop because I'll be crossing the border in a few weeks..can go hog wild then...
This craft show will be on the same weekend, Debbie is this the show you were telling me about?
http://www.wnypremierpromotions.com/christmas/christmas.html
Tubby, sending prayers sweetie..how are you doing Shirley...
Stacey, enjoyed Bonners...was walking around and I heard "Betty is that you" here Pam, a friend I've painted with in Barrie for 20 years was there with her daughter, grandson and hubby...couldn't find the girls I was it but found a hometown friend...then we were downtown in one of the major restaurants and who is there but Pam..when we got talking they had been to CrackerBarrel in the morning and saw a group of ladies leave, said omg does does that lady look a lot like Betty ...too cute...then she proceeds to tell me that they were having breakfast and had to leave the building...kitchen fire...ooops...
SIL Linda was having mega trouble with her leg, we were at Bob Evans, she got up quickly and put her knee out of joint..ouch...so off to the hotel room, iced her leg and within several hours she was back on the shopping marathon...
Boy can those women shop...
Judy, would say 'share the ornament' that you are working on but no can ask, perhaps I'll be the recipient..what's the chances of that? lol
Trisha, sounds as though you are a great help to that young lady...God bless you!
LindaKay, Barb, Liz..all others..hope you've had a great weekend as well..
It's a sunshine day here, bit cool but better than rain or snow...
Having the marina come and shrink wrap the Foxy Lady tonight..because I'm so tired might ask them to change appt. until later in the week..doubt I'll be up much later than 6:30 pm....
