That was the last for tonight. I want to go out tomorrow morning and take some. I saw some nice color this evening at a couple of local ponds. Want to get some pics before it rains on Wed. Hope it's sunny in the morning.

And nothing says fall like mushrooms all over my lawn---can't ID as my son borrowed my guide book, & he's in N. Dakota right now.
DH and his brother have game cameras they put out to see if the deer are crossing our land. This is what they caught, not a deer!!!!!

Pixie that's a very buff looking moose. It must be Bullwinkle! Onewish I don't think those are mushrooms. I think it is a fairy ring which is a very lucky thing to have ^_^ Luv the VC Robindog. Mine has about 3 leaves left cuz of the evil leafhoppers sigh. Beautious reflection Victor!

Yes, mushroons grow around tree stumps.I used to forage for them with my father. My brother still does but I wouldn't trust myself anymore.

Thanks SO much Dave47 for breaking the ice on this! I really dislike being negative but I knew some mushroom fans who actually had a book published on mushrooms who both died from misidentifying. I'm soooooooooo glad that you said you aren't going to eat them RobinDog. Sorry but mushrooms as edibles scare me now. :(
I buy them at the grocery store and gobble them up. Love them.
You should never eat a wild mushroom unless someone knows for sure it's safe. And even then, I would not. My friend is a mycologist, but I tell him I'll eat it a day after he does.

I'll eat any shroom from the store. I love them, but only cooked. Raw ones taste weird to me.
