Happy Birthday Rita!!! Sorry I'm late. I had computer trouble yesterday. Hope you had an enjoyable day and got to spend some quality time in your garden.

Wow is that a Dutchman's Pipe Vine? If so that is the biggest I've ever seen!!!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I am lusting, there with the Borneo Giant. Just planted mine and it's only about 8" tall, but it's checked every day, at least once if not more. It will probably be stared to death. Hoping the iguanas don't get it.

Have to take some pix.

good morning Tropinuts! Sallyg has written a wonderful article about pawpaws. It turns out there are 2 fruits called by this name: papaya and asimina triloba. ck it out. http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/2623/

who grows asimina triloba? Do you ever see this fruit sold at the store? I would like to try it.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

planc.

Finally, here are some of my philos. They are from Armando (giancarlo) who has his garden with the angels now. He was a very generous man. There were labels, but they got eaten or whatever, so just enjoy.

TexasbigLeaves,
Thank you very much for the birthday wishes, and the beautiful plumeria picture. Is it the Queen Victoria?
Could you please take another picture of the Dutchman's Pipe when they are all open?
The seeds from the Pride of Barbados took two years to bloom, (I have lots of time). Everything in your garden is huge, my Thai Giant is shrinking.

I am guilty of staring a few plants to death myself, especially when I paid too much for them. I enjoyed your garden pictures, it seems as if we like the same plants.(thanks) I do have Giancarlo in my favorites, I would refer to him frequently. Sorry to hear that he died

Sunshinesw, the amayrillis is just as pretty the second time. I did not know that there was a white morning glory bush, very pretty.

Rita, I think that is so polite that you comment on every single post others make in this forum. I try to acknowledge everyone but not nearly as thorough as you are. Thank you so much. We should all follow your example, esp. if somebody asks a question. Makes for a friendlier forum.

budgie, how do you care for your beautyberry, especially the white

Red Oak, TX

Happy_1, you must have put a 6 insted of a 8. I think that you are referring to post #7104815, which is an Anthurum Mehani. They are very easy to grow, the new leaves are alway a nice golden brown, the picture did not show it too well.

This is Anthurium Clarinervium, trying to recover from being transplanted

Texasbigleaves, you are really living up to your name, Those are the biggest leaves ever!!!
I will have to get a few of those Hybrids Alocasia x Blue Portora from Lari Ann. I hope that she is still on the marketplace.

vossner, I did read the article on the Pawpaws and think that I will pass on that one. I am trying to find a few Soursop seeds, I know for sure that I love that fruit, plus it makes a very good ice cream.
Thanks for your kind words. Everyone is so polite to me, I try to return the kindness.

The white beauty berry is treated the same way as the purple. Full sun and moderate water when established. My one bush got to 7 ft tall and 6 ft wide or so. It died back some during the winter and I trimmed in back to about 2 ft in early spring. I have just cleaned and dried seeds of both if anyone wants to try some.
