lavender...mine are about 2 - 2 1/2 feet tall....I had them around my mailbox but they got big & crazy so I just dug them up & plopped them behind the playhouse (next to the scary corn) and they're thriving. Some more babies popped up around the mailbox. I don't have the heart to pull them.

purples are my favorite colors in flowers...
Oh wow moon...that is totally awesome!!!!
I just read an article on how to collect the seeds, it sounds pretty simple, I'm gonna try it & send them to you. These plants spread pretty easy, so you may want to pot them.
they are hardy for our zone right? I may end up with both...some outside and some in a pot...I have issues, I can't help it
Moon that's awesome, I googled it...
Trina we're in the same zone, I think, aren't we? They're hardy to 5. Well from the link I think it can help with any issues lol I had no idea till I read that. I'll have to put that stuff in my coffee *grin*
cool then I can have them outside
A young man left Spain for Australia to seek his fortune and left his sweetheart to prepare for his return. It took a number of years, but he finally earned enough money to buy a large tract of land and build a castle for his princess waiting for him in Spain. He sailed back to Spain to collect his bride, only to discover she had given up on him and married someone else. He was heartbroken, but his intended's younger sister Margarhita was so kind, he married her and brought her back to Australia, where he spent the rest of his life building her a kingdom surrounded by beauty.

the man in the picture looks rather doubtful ;)
Moon I'm going to have to start saving my nickles you keep showing pictures like those.
You have been some really neat places. My yearly trip to Florida is really looking boring!!!
aaaawwww....too bad we can't all have the fairy tale.....gotta kiss a few frogs before you find your prince charming
Trina, this is what it is. It is in the DG file.
Cockscomb, Plume Plant, Feathered Amaranth (Plumosa Group) 'Fresh Look Yellow' Celosia argentea var. plumosa
ok thanks venice! how do they mske seed ?
I don't think he realized I was taking a picture of the towers behind him....JJs, we saved for 6 years to be able to go and see where our baby girl lived.....and then discovered that we could oh so easily live there ourselves.....then we spent 2 more years saving up to help our daughter & SIL and kids come here this summer....they couldn't come because of the baby and stuff, so we packed up and went there again this past May/June.
I included a link to better pictures and the story in the other post....Jose was quite the entremperneur.
wow moon that is awesome! so how'd your daughter end up in Australia?
ohohohoh...my new passion flower has a bloom getting ready to open...As soon as it does I will take a picture and post it here!
I checked out the link moon, it was awesome.
6years I better switch from nickles to gold dollars.lol
I know it is expensive to go. DH talked about it once and I checked into it. Thats all the farther we got.
That was years ago even. Now can't smoke on the plane he wants no part of anything over 2 hrs.
I bet if the Grandkids were there it would be a diffferent story tho.
I'm so excited my new passionflower is blooming already! doing a Massive Happy Dance with my Nyquil
Let's see I don't smoke and Lynnie is getting me into shape.
Maybe I can ride in the suitcase next trip. :)
A smooth talking Aussie man met her at a trade show in Las Vegas in 2000 and decided he needed a Cajun Princess to make his life complete......they married in a fairy tale wedding in the Cook Islands in 2003, after he came and lived here for a year so we would know she would be taken care of. Peter is a great guy, a terrific husband and a wonderful dad.....He and Jan lead a truly charmed life there in Brisbane.
I am a smoker but I can adapt....and I know I'll fit in the suitcase....LOL
Beautiful family Moon!
Trina, you mean the celosia, I guess. I thought it was bug poo when I first saw their seeds last year and I tried to shake them out. Then I found out they were seeds! When they are ready the plumes start to fade a little and you can see some of the seeds. If you shake them they fall out and then I take my fingers across each little plume to make sure they are all out. But that is after they are thoroughly dry. They are just a touch bigger than moss rose seeds but they are black and very round and roll very easily.
What a lovely family. Picture must have been before baby.
Can see why you would miss them so much.
Well I need to get GS off to bed and DH is coming in from the garage so I will say
Goodnight.
Enjoy your night everyone
Sleep well
JJs the price for tickets was actually less this time than last. We did a lot of traveling the first visit. Flew to Sydney, then to Ayer's Rock, then back to Sydney, On to Brisbane and then flew to Cairns and then back to Brisbane, back to Sydney and then home.....this time, Brisbane Airport had set up a direct flight from Los Angeles to Brisbane.....I was so glad. I had only made one round trip flight before we went to Australia, and I am not a good flier....grin (major inner ear/balance/motion stuff) The flight from Los Angeles to Brisbane is about 14 hours. From LA to Sydney was 17 hours.....
Thanks all.JJs, the picture was taken when Ethan, the new little guy was 6 weeks old. Granma is holding him so he's not in the picture....grin
What color is it going to be?
this one is called a Blue Eyed Susan
aah, the don juan rose. love it.
bills were playing the patriots, had a good lead, looked like they had it in the bag, then gave it away. I said at work, whoever decided to schedule the bills against the pats on the opening game of the season on the first monday night game has a sick sense of humor.
good thing i'm not a huge football fan (my hearts been broken- what, 4 times??)
everyone have a good night!
can't wait to see it Trina!
Trina, I looked up your Blue Eyed. It is a pretty color and not as scarry as some of the passion flowers
I thought it would look good with my other one which is pale
Oh, by the way, if you click on the link below, there are some really gorgeous photos of the whole park.

The Kanye West interview was on the Jay Leno show just now. Jay made KW speechless for a while and you could here a pin drop! He couldn't answer most of Jay's questions!
