Good morning everyone. It's supposed to rain here so is still dark looking outside. Sure makes a person want to burrow back down under the covers and stay there awhile longer! :-)

Ladies, one thing I have learned from my many travels through life....if you have a cheater for a husband (or boyfired etc), you can't blame yourself. (don't mean to be gender specific, women cheat too) They will come up with all kinds of reasons to justify it, but the problem lies within them, not anything the wife or husband does or doesn't do, or is not able to do. They just use that as an excuse for something they would do anyway. Some people just seem to have it inside them. I don't know if they are trying to prove something to themselves, or have super low self esteem, or what.

Others, on the other hand, wouldn't cheat no matter how many perfect opportunities they have. I have one of those now, and am hanging onto him with all 10 fingers and even a few toes if necessary!!! :-)

Good Morning Cat....Those sort of folks are egocentric....the world revolves around their wants, desires, needs and they truly have no concern for others when it comes to fulfilling those. They are in their mind entitled to what ever they want, and it is the business of the rest of the world to either provide that or stand out of their way as they provide for themselves. Unfortunately, so many of them are quite charming in the pursuit of what they want and can seem so loving and solicitious and dedicated...until they tire of what they have, and then they move on. And of course it is never cheating in their eyes....how can it be cheating when they are sure they deserve it?

So glad you have a real sweetie...he is a lucky man...and you can tell him I said so....LOL (like that makes a difference, grin)

(Cathy), MO

I agree . And I will tell him! Hey it never hurts to give them an ego stroke now and then!! :-)

(Zone 5b)

Good morning! nice to see you Cat! Hi Moon!
Venice, Trina, Imzadi are you all still sleeping? I know Smiley is up, saw her bright & early!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning Lynnie, how goes it?

(Zone 5b)

pretty good....I just stopped by a garden center just to poke about :) and saw a pretty little conifer. A dwarf blue cypress....how cute would that look in a rock garden? lol
I read that it gets "plum tones" in the winter...is that perfection or what? It wasn't on sale though...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

A real pain when you have to think in terms of a bank loan to get one plant.....grin That does sound just perfect for your garden.....will carry the rose theme into the new area.

(Zone 5b)

well I have a million cans here to bring to recycling center...but I want to have the kids come along & reap the rewards with me, so they learn the value of a. money b. recycling

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I hear ya. Jordan has been collecting cans all summer under duress...he just found out he can get 30 cents a pound and isn't frowning quite so much....he is saving up for car insurance.....driving, the great motivator...grin

(Zone 5b)

Mine still like stuffed animals lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just wait, your day is coming....number four in the car queue.....hope the nerves hold out...much older now and more aware of the scariness of teen drivers....a new litany to prepare...grin

(Zone 5b)

Moon I was a driving instructor while in college *grin*

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

car insurance? stuffed animals? heck my 14 is saving for the parts for his 1907 Model T (yes he already bought the car, the wheels, engine and tranny), My 13 yo the parts for his 68 Boss Mustang, and my 12 yo daughter for the parts to the 67 cougar sitting in the drive....but thgen again they all do odd jobs like mowing, babysitting, going to work with dad to get the money....the 15 yo on the other hand thinks we should hand him one! He thinks we should make one of the other 2 boys give up vehicles they already bought (cause those aren't the only ones they have, just the ones that take priority over the others) and give it to him!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Brave woman Lynnie....grin Would you do it now?

Hard for some kids to figure out, Trina. Hardest thing ti break a kid of is the sense of entitlement.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

especially since he's only lived with us for about 2 years now, thinks if he wants it he can just take it and the consequences don't apply to him

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sometimes No is the kindest thing you can say to a kid....

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

we say no alot, unfortunately, if we say no he just turnsaround and goes and steals whatever is, and usually the cops bring him back, the 3 younger ones have had enough

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

and "because I said so" too, Moon. I use that one on my daughter when our conversation starts taking a turn for the worse. And as parents, we have earned the right to say that.

I have one of "the good guys" too. I used to envy (good envy, not bad) my cousin who had the big house, etc... I'll take my little house filled with love and laughter. don't have to worry 'bout my man when he goes out, or worry about getting a hand laid on me.

when my son was first hearing about girls & sex, DH stayed one step ahead of the peers and taught him about love and respect. he's a gem.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

might be time for tough love Trina. easy for me to say, not being in that situation, but I think if my mom had done that with one of my bro's early on, I think they'd BOTH be better off today.

gotta go, see everyone later.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

hard to beat a good man/father/husband...gotta tell them that occassionally too.

Arrrgh...gotta grt clothes off line starting to rain....

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I know all this but can't get him help, tried all they want to do these days is lock kids up not help, can't afford boot camp, and can't put him in a psych ward to get the help he really needs until he commits a major crime

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Have you looked into the court advocacy program in your area? They work to try to keep kids out of jail.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

don't have them here because we are not a major city

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I am sending you some links for your review...perhaps you can find something in these to help him. Good thoughts on his behalf.

Hi all, just stopped by for a few minutes and off to prayer meeting. Volunteered to help where needed with the kids program, got sent to the 2 yr. olds. Like kicking the top off a fire ant bed. Loved it.

Went to see my cousin today. Had him heavily dedated. Not losing blood. Main problem now is bad lungs from smoking.

Sounds like you were describing my daughter-in-law, Cat.

Gone!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I'll bet you did, Jim. and i'll bet the kids had a ball with Grandpa Jim....grin. keeping your cousin in our thoughts...and prayers.

Started a new thread...Location, location, Location....see ya there later.

Moon
