ok now i knoiw where the threads have gone. sheesh
300,000 plants we like to talk about
this is a total pain!
Here ya go Jim we'll just move it to the top of the list!
Hey Trina your picture is fine.
What plant were you talking about "below" in the ID forum?
jjs, chances are the salsa will be fine. Jo put up a bunch of dill pickles using the Mrs. Wages mix and they were as good as the ones she use to put up.
I been chasing around hunting all you guys. Moon finally shoved me in the right direction.
Had this terrible craving for caramel all day.
LOL Jim!
Dave I figured out what it is...an azalea "Trouper"....I feel smart
Do the Happy Dance!
soooooo, anybody up?
hi Smileymom! I'm up...got lots to do, lotta people coming. I'm just having my coffee :)
this is my "do whatever I want to do" day. I don't get much of them. I guess I shoud go outside, but it's the time of year that there's not much to do out there. too early to get ready for winter, too late to do some other things I would normally do in summer. So I go out and look at my diseased lilac (I think) and wonder what I can do with it...
enjoy your company!
Hi, I'm up and waiting for my niece to drop by on the way back to Jackson, Tenn. Son and his kids coming for lunch. Thought I was grilling hamburgers but he called to say he was bringing bacon wrapped doves to grill. Got a feeling I'm going to do some hamburgers anyway. Dove is to dark meat for me. Other than that a laid back day.
how do you get the doves to lay still on the grill? ;) I'm pretty sure I've never eaten a dove...aren't they too pretty to eat? I can't eat duck, too greasy.
I just made about 10 dozen cookies (sugar m&m and those chocolate peanut butter no bakes I'm still licking the pan).
Burgers & dogs here, & shrimp cocktail ...I was in a mood for it. I usually do a specialty dish (like creole ribs or something) but I'm in a cookie & shrimp mood. Guests are hostage to my cravings.
Lynnie, you make my mouth water. Where do you live and could I be a guest? LOL Your food sounds a lot better than a cute dove on the grill!!!
I'll stop by Jim's for a burger before heading over to Lynnie's for dessert. Want me to pick you up, Venice?
how rude of me... Jim, would your guests miss you if you went to Lynnie's for dessert? I'll make no-fat, no-sugar cloud nine.
hahaha the more the merrier Jim bring your insulin....these babies are loaded with butter & sugar.
Sounds great! But I don't think I could even look at that little bird on the grill or off the grill!!! Maybe Jim can do his burgers before his son and birds gets there!!!
I agree Venice. I went to a pig roast once and lost my appetite. Maybe that's why my daughter won't eat anything that had a face!
Happy Labor Day to you also!
I thought you were going to show us all that wonderful food you had today. Yum! But it was a chicken!!! lol I guess it was a chicken.
Not too many people around today. Moon helped us with white flies over on another site. I guess it is the weather because even Jim has them. I saw Rachel earlier but can't remember where she was.
Hope you are having a good day. Do you have family over there?
Dave, Trina was trying to ID a couple of plants yesterday on this thread at 2:26-2:27 PM. I figure you might be able to identify those plants because they might be tropical? But you know I really can't tell. It sure has a bid root ball.
Hey Venice!
Trina's plants are Beaucarnea recurvata, Ponytails or Monja. Plants from Mexico that are relatives of Agave.
The chicken looking bird is a Kalij Pheasant, Lophura leucomelanos.
Have my older brother here, about a mile up the road. He'll probably stop over, unless the rain keeps dumping.
You celebrating the holiday? A day that we can all be happy that we get to work so hard!
I like Dave's menu. Has anyone seen Trina today?
Hey guys and girls, just hopped in to wish you all a "Happy Labor Day". Glad I finally found you.
Beautiful, sure wish that would grow here.
That IS pretty. What is it?
Hi, Folks....sounds like everyone is settling down some. Dave, enjoy dinner with your brother, but please put a name on your lovely tree.....LOL
Venice, Smiley, Flowers....Hi All....Happy Worksgiving day....all thankful for a job to complain about.....grin.
Dave, that tree is so unusual. It looks like it has berries and feathery balls on it! And that pheasant. lol It does look a little different than a chicken.
We are seeing a lot of rainbows. It must rain frequently there.
Your mushroom red sauce looks amazing with a little oregano, thyme, and bay leaves on the side. Everyone is having such yummy things today.
Trina, will do her happy dance when she finds out the name of those plants!!
By the way, since everyone has given their name, my name is Carol.
Jean, Karen, Smiley, and Dave, it sounds like you all are having a great holiday.
Hi Carol, I'm Julie. Named after Mary Poppins ^_^
Hi Carol...nice to meet ya....grinNow we all have a long list of names....Venice, Wilty'sRock'NMom, Carol....cool.
The moonhowl, MoonRock, Jean
Julie, how cute that you were named after Mary Poppins!
Hi All! Hope you all had a good day! I'm beat!

Hope you had a great time with family. Do you have to work tomorrow, Lynn?
I am calling it a day also.
'Night to everyone. Have a peaceful and restful sleep.
yes i sure do lol
we did have a fun day, lots & lots of food & fun...lots of kids running around. Sunny and warm out, no rain here...we could use some soon, though.
Night Venice...rest well.
Good to hear Lynnie, at least you didn't have 60 people trapped inside all afternoon....grin
Hi Gang. Good to see you are all having a good day. My son and his kids were over. First time we've seen the kids in a couple of months. Major family problems there. Kids caught in the middle as usual. The doves were good. Down hear Labor Day week-end is a big hunting week-end. First open season of the year and red-necks have to shoot at something. I have never really cared for them because the meat is really dark and dry. All you do is pull the breast off them, the rest just has no meat. Mark wrapped them in bacon and grilled them. The bacon made them more moist and add a lot of flavor. Really very good, surprized me. Course we had the burgers, smoked sausage, and grilled bacon. Cucumbers, home made sweet pickles and dill, home made picante sauce and chips for those that eat them. Naturally Jo got into the sweet making, blueberry pies and a plantation cake for me (sugar free). It was a real laid back day. Have a nice night all. Sounds like most are getting off so I think I'll get out my new crossword puzzel book. Finally found one that has a lot of diagramless puzzels in it. My favorite.
Jim, how is your cousin?
Jim just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. I'm sure they're taking good care of him.
