Synda - good news about her being out of the coma, and alert enuff to complain LOL

Phyllis - very strong of you not to play emotional blackmail....... I know I had to do the same thing when my son asked me if he should move out of the city, to be with his GF (from Winnipeg, to Beverly Hill...). I told him it had to be his decision, but that I'd miss him - cuz I'm his DM, after all......... He moved, of course (hormones win out over DM at his age of 19!!). That was many, many years ago - I haven't seen him since..... Oh, that was a bad memory lane thing.........
You, of course, will see your son, and your grandbaby ^_^

Well, I'm doing well - have 2 out of 10 squares done tonight, and my points Match, Miss Jaye!! :-~~~~~~~~~
I think that Cindy would approve - there are butterflies in the center ^_^ I'll have to take a pic of all 10 when I have them done. Should be in a couple of days, now that I've gotten going LOL

~Susan~

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

O I forgot to say that we did a dry run of putting up our 10-person tent, in our friend's yard. It only took 1 hour to put it up LOL It'll go alot quicker from now on, now that we know what we're doing lol

WOW is it ever Big. Even my DH at 6'3" was able to stand up straight in a fair sized area. Of course it went down at the sides, etc, but it is large. I meant to take a pic of it, but forgot of course (CRS). No center pole, either ^_^
My friend (Marlene) came out and stood in it with us. It has a spot to unzip for the extension cord, etc. Guess we'll be using our camp fridge lol. It even has a divider to make it into 2 rooms lol

Can't wait unti the 25th (Fri) to head out.

Morning everyone!
Laura, sending prayers for your interview, to go smoothly, and successfully! Don't be nervous, just be yourself. I know you will get the job!
Coffee is on, and I have banana's, peaches, and toast if you want!

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good morning Ladies,

Wow yesterday was great ^_^. Steve looks a lot different than what his pix shows on his profile. He is 5'9" just a tad bit overweight, but so am I so what the heck. He is 5 years younger than me and asked if I had a problem with it. "moi"?why no makes me feel good that a younger man would like an old lady like me, lol. He has the prettest blue eyes nice soft lips, hee hee. (he likes to kiss alot) He is a truck driver full time and welder part time. We have a lot of things in common fishing, camping, nascar, like the mountains, etc. We took a drive up to one of the places he likes to camp, I've been past the place hundreds of times and never knew it was there. We sat and talked about our family and things we like to do. He talked about all the places he has traveled too. I mentioned that I haven't done much traveling but would like too. He asked if I would like to travel with him. He is hoping to get a OTR job soon and asked if I would like to go with him. His truck is a really pretty blue (from what I could tell from the pix). He has a daughter and 3 grandkids in Austin, TX and that is one place he travels to alot. So who knows someday I might get to meet LK and BJ.

Well, I need to get ready for bowling so I will..............................TTYL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Laura - I'd wish you good luck on your interview, but I'm sure you'll do juuuuuuust fine, hon!
My thoughts and prayers are with you! ^_^

Bowling? I didn't know you bowled, Cindy. So do I - in fact our league starts up next Sunday! (The Fun Bunch - 7pm)
I should show you the pretty butterfly cup & dainty saucer I got a week ago, while visiting Waterton National Park (Glacier Park, in the US).
It's sooooo pretty ^_^
Good for you on meeting a fella you seem to have so much in common with ^_^

cya all later, cuz I've got a meeting to prepare for......

~Susan~

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Thanks for the breakfast of champions, LK.

Cindy, did you get his Social Security and DL #s???? Just to make sure you leave those with us, when he takes you on the road!
Nothing wrong with a younger guy. Think Synda or is it Crissy has a much younger husband.. Synda for sure.
Look how happy they are.
Of course, me too. Kel is 11 years my junior. My ex-- 15 years my senior. It's all a matter of compatibility and reciprocating affections.

Susan, how are you this morning? Did Bob had to find his wife amidst all those fabrics?

Laura, I pray they select you for the job.

Well... better get busy.. got plants to pack and an envelope to fill.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good Morning!
Nummy breakfast, LK!

Jaye - Bob was watching TV, while our cat (Baby) watched me sewing - when it looked like I was going to get lost, she got me out LOL j/k - but she Did Watch Me Closely. Maybe she wants to learn sewing, or maybe it's because my sewing table partly blocks her litter pan roflmfbo!

~Susan~

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well he did show me his DL. I don't think there is anything to worry about. He seems to very honest and told me I could ask him anything I wanted too. It will be awhile before we hit the road. But I did tell him that I have to be home on Tuesdays as that is bowling and the only obligation I really have. His mom has a motorhome and he said someday soon we will go to Tahoe for the weekend. He also has a 30 foot cabin cruiser, but it is in a marina and he needs about $300 to get it up to Sac. It needs some work done on it. So I'm thinking there will be some nice fishing trips on the river next year (if things work out between us). Work has been slow but he has many plans and he said now that we have met he is going to work harder to make those plans happen soon, lol. Asked me if I had a problem accepting gifts, I laughed said "No, I love getting gifts" then he said something about flowers, I said what about flowers he laughed said you'll see. It has been a verrrrrrrrrrrrrry long time since a man has treated me this way, even my late hubby was not this romantic. I'm sure we will be seeing each other soon, he will be letting me know what his work schedule is going to be. He did mention something about getting me a laptop with a webcam so we can see each other when we chat. Gotta love a man like that, lol.

Yes Susan, I have been bowling since I was 17.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmm do they grow the men like that out there in "the OTHER CA"?

re: bowling - got ya beat! I've been bowling since I was 7 - my first game I got 65 lol
Still not great at it, but that's me - I have gotten 273, though......no often do I do that LOL

~Susan~

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow, Susan, that's an enviable average!
I used to bowl, not anymore.

Cindy, you deserve to be treated like a princess.

Back to work...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

o no........ not my average - my average is about 152.........
that way-out-there score was a "one-off" lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey CIndy, glad you met someone, but you still need to be very cautious! Ask him if he has a criminal background? LOL!
He sounds like a very nice man, and showering you with gifts and flowers... Nothing wrong with that! As a trucker, you do know he will have a lot of time on the road, but if he wants you with, that will be nice too. Yeah, you may get that chance to see Bj, and myself, but don't forget about Phyllis, she is here too! Just give me some advance notice, so I can plan my trip?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cindy - hate to be a "downer", but.........
I used to be married to a trucker - 20 of the 23 years we were together (he wasn't a trucker when we met/married).

It's a hard life for both. If he's travelling on holidays he sees other families being together (decorating houses, etc), and that's harsh. I had a dispatcher tell me that the wives have more time to "fool-around" than the trucker who doesn't have time to get to know anyone - they fly through a city so fast.
Take it from someone who knows - it ain't easy, babe! Even harder when you're being mother & father to kids - it's like being a single mom..........
When we divorced and he remarried, his new wife phoned to tell me how lonely she was....... SHE married a trucker, and I told her that's why we weren't together anymore!! btw - she also claimed I was her GF! NOT!! hahahaha
He's a lovely man, I just couldn't handle the loneliness. I turned my life around everytime he came home, and I truely wasn't myself. You end up becoming strangers to each other.
That being said, there are a lot of happy couples who share the trucking life, too! If you can do that, it can help ease the times apart.

hahaha I even wrote a novelette about the life of a trucker's wife lol

~Susan~

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Susan, thanks for the advice. But you see I don't have to worry about any of that kind of stuff. I don't have kids to worry about, my daughter has her own family, mom will be just fine without me so I'm ready to do some traveling.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

We can't help but do WORRY about the people we care for, Cindy.

My ex got into the trucking business, besides our marriage, his health went south too. But then I never accompany him on his long distance cross-country routes.

AND I'm serious of leaving behind FULL info with one of us when you decide to take up his offer. You never thought you'd be surrounded by sistahs that take their titles seriously huh?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

How about some ♫♪♫ music for this room?
Of the pictorial kind..
"Rhapsody" in bloom minor :D

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

sistah Jaye - you & I have a lot in common don't we?! Both have ex-trucker hubbies lol

Cindy - I did say that there are some very happy trucker couples.......y'have to read to the end, dear sistah ^_^
I'm not ALL downer, doncha know? roflmfbo......!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, she is beautiful! So far, I have only seen yellow blooms. Hopefully someday, I will see different colors?
LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I do have the yellows too like CG and that Versi Orange.
Somehow this year, they are slow.. must be that surprise snow we had for 3 days!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't give up LK. You got a longer summer than I do.
I also lost Naughty Nick and Puppy Love to that near 'harsh' winter!
Yep, hearing Susan snickering now. One day snow is near harsh for us here!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Woooohoooo
It's Catfish Tuesday!!!! Off to get ready... see you all later sistahs! Crissy's not around.. so try NOT to behave :D

Thumbnail by heavenscape
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have some for me please?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'll do another piece of carrot cake just for you LK!

Ciao!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Wish I had some of that catfish to go with the Shrimp Gumbo I am making. ;0))

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well girls let's not worry about it just yet he hasn't gotten the job. He is working local right now. I for sure will keep you posted if and when it happens. Hey we just met yesterday so who knows what will happen in the next week or two. I might find someone better. I have gotten alot of emails from other guys wanting to meet for coffee but I could tell just from their pix that I'm not what they are looking for. When Steve and I first started talking he said certain things, like he could tell from my picture that I was a passionate woman (and I am I love to hug and kiss especially my grandkids) and that also shy at times, but I can be very mischievous ( and I had'nt even told him I was a Gemini, lol) at times. I asked how could he tell that it's my green eyes, lol.

So for now it is weekend dates, he said our next date will be a candlelight dinner and maybe some dancing. Been awhile since I've been out dancing guess I better practice, lol.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

A candlelight dinner and dancing sounds wonderful. No one ever took me out for an evening like that. I should have insisted on it!! My DH was a trucker too, but mostly in the state of Ca. He has been retired almost ten years, but still talks trucks.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye have some Catfish for me..I am tired and haven't even started to think about dinner yet....

Mom hasn't been feeling well for a few days and was worse today....she called this morning to say she had a doctors appointment and would I go with her. By the time we got to the lab for her first tests she was freezing. Then we went up to the Doctors office and before he was finished she had chills so bad she was shaking. They said she has a bad bladder infection, is running a fever and is dehydrated.....we spent the rest of the afternoon in the ECU where they put in an IV and gave her two bags of fluids and antibiotics.....she is doing much better now but we have to go back at ten in the morning. It was a long afternoon. We just got home a little while ago. I fixed her a cup of broth, hope that stays down as she hasn't eaten anything all day.....now I need to figure out what WE are going to have for dinner.

No bike ride tonight....want to stay around here in case she needs something.

Have a good night everyone.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

omygoodness, Trisha! I can't imagine how worried and upset you must have been whe they told you about her infection, fever and dehydration! Dehydration is the worst, I think! Good thing you'd taken her to the Dr who was smart enuff to take action right away! How old is your Mom?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

For now, we'll relax a bit. Thanks Cindy. Continue to inform us on your potential dates... we'll volunteer our 3 cents (inflation)!

Pegi, you could stage a candle light dinner at home. It's much more romantic, and you won't have a waiter intruding every few minute.

Awww Trisha. So glad your mum got the right doctor. Bladder infections are not fun.
I get UTI easily. I found that alka seltzer helps and lately I've been drinking unsweetened cranberry juice.

Lookee here.. my plate at Ryan's. Just 2 catfish, 2 huspuppies but a large plate of salad with no dressing.. I did good ^_^

Thumbnail by heavenscape
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Susan, We were lucky recently...on Mom's last Doctor visit we got a P.A. (physician's assistant) instead of one of the doctors....he has done more for her these two visits than any of the Doctors out there have done in years! Last visit he took her off of some meds the doctor had prescribed....said it should not be given to patients with heart palpatation issues she has had in the past.....She will be 81 on the 28th......

Jaye that looks sooooo good!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

PA, eh? hmmmmmmm I'm thinking that a PA is a much newer designation for this person, and they're still feeling HUMAN lol
I work for Research Drs. and they're really sweet people, but they can get so mired down, that they forget what it was like to be new, and human.
Don't get me wrong, Drs aren't infallable, but they are human themselves.
I've had some really bad Drs that should have been sued, but they kinda stick together - family drs that is. I would rather work for a Research Dr anytime!!

~Susan~

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

My own doctor sometimes doubt the side effects I had been getting with some meds, until we brought to his attention what we found online, from the drug makers' websites!

I truly believe that God placed that P.A to check your mum, instead of the doctors. She's indeed fortunate.

Good night everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone! Time to rise and shine! Coffee is on! Pancakes, bacon... Not a healthy breakfast, but one that will stick with you for a bit.
Trisha, sorry to hear about your Mom not feeling well. Hope she is better this morning?
How about Laura, how did the interview go?
Jaye, that catfish sure looks good!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning LK! I'll help myself to pancakes, got sugar free syrup here.

Dr. in the house this morning. Here's Dr. Seuss.

Time to get busy. Changed my mind on the fabrics selection for the tote bag. Decided on another 'doable' pattern instead. Just don't want to be all stressed out doing one that's overly complicated. Then will continue packing for that tropical plant swap.

Wishing you all a beautiful Wednesday wherever you are.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh but the pancakes sound good but had breakfast at 6:30 this morning. Will have more coffee please. Couldn't sleep so I got up with Kim (actually she was leaving for work) and got busy on my day. Trying to get a hutch assembled so it can go on top of my new computer deak. I am all left thumbs with this thing!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're hilarious Maid M.. that Death Date quiz on FB.. so.. no elevators for you at that age. What.. someone will have to carry you up the stairs!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Carry me nothing!! I will going up them 2 at a time--hang around and watch me. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh dear.. I'm sure we'll catch you swinging from the rails going down too?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL Maid M & Jaye - We're ALL there, hon! You can be old at the youngest age lol

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Susan, the hilarious part is the quiz predicted I'd be electrocuted changing a light bulb standing in water at 99!!
I agree with Synda. If I could stand at THAT age, I'd be one awesome woman.
Can't even pull my self up at this present age! LOLOL!
