I have stop posting, I have lost my server and phones off and on all day so I give up for now, they will be out on tues to find out why. But a hour later they all all working. LOL

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

I love reminiscing about the marvelous time I had with everybody at the Round-Up while viewing all these great pictures. Thanks for all the effort of photographing and posting, Mary (and others too).

I have a few more while your server is having troubles.

Jan, I hope you are able to enjoy all these photos and commentary from the far off East Coast, and wish for you to be able to join us next time. Maybe we should plan the event around a time you are visiting your family on the West Coast so you can be here, I would love to meet you in person.

If I can find it, I've got one of Rachel and her dad, the famed barn builder.

Another fine job Tills. I am so enjoying your tour.

Everyone's pictures are great.

Man! Next time we all get together someone please remind me to put on a little makeup and try to be more aware that cameras are everywhere! Plus, I better never turn my back to the camera or I'll come face to face with my derriere right on the internet! I'm scaring myself just thinking about it! I've been known to smile, really, I swear I have.

So many things I knew the answers to as I was reading all the posts and looking at all the photos. I don' t know how you all have the patience to post all those photos. I'm just amazed! Let's see -

Lynn, the sign in the greenhouse that says 'Dream' should actually say 'Dream On!', or maybe 'In your Dreams!'. That's how I generally feel when I wish the garden would look a certain way for more than, say, a week. But, truth be told, I put the sign there because I always dreamed of having a greenhouse with a pointy roof. Somehow, the roof line really mattered to me.

Pony, that's dahlia coccinea that you loved. Wait until they die back and I'll take a look at the tubers to see if I can get a piece from them for you. I grew them from seed, which is easy, but the color is variable. I threw out half of them to get these colors. However, they will bloom the first year from seed, so it's not that long a wait. I'm impressed by how they are constantly in bloom.

Clerodendrum trichotomum - otherwise known as Peanut Butter tree because the leaves smell like peanut butter. The bees go insane for the flowers from this tree.

The beautiful pink plant at Sharons is Justicia somethingorother. I think someone else posted the species.

In case anyone was wondering, in the photo of the succulent pots, the blue plastic pot with sedums in it is just a bunch of cuttings that are rooting. Not meant to be decorative, I just forgot to move it.

Tree with heartshaped leaves is a redbud. I have yet to see a bloom on it.

I love that hidden pot at Sharon's house. Between her place and Julies, the entire hillside is going to be an oasis of color.

So, I still have large amounts of Crocosmia 'lucifer', and these purply blue siberian iris. Also, Lynn, you forgot to get cuttings from the coleus, and the baby Foxglove 'Pam's Choice'. I have zillions of babies from these as I let them go to seed.

Thanks, Pixy! Do you think yours will set seed if you let a couple heads go? I don't want you to tear up their toes just to humor my obsession. ;)

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Tills - the big white blossom is a datura.

Probably they will set seed. But I'm likely going to look at them anyway because I'd like to move a piece somewhere else.

Love that Justicia.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

There is so much here that I couldn't give full credit to due to rushing around getting things done the last few days. But:

Tilly, the pictures of Mt. Tahoma are amazing of all those little delicate plants among the rocks.

Laurie, I love your description of the village fete! We should all have those so people get together to have fun in simple, homegrown ways like tossing rubber boots and measuring green beans.

Pixy, Thanks for the expert identification of just about every plant I have wondered about in many gardens visited at the round-up and the Vashon tour. And I know you have a lovely smile.

Highmtn, the rock bunny is really cute. I must come up with more interesting things to do with all my rocks than edge beds.

Katye, You have manually moved 3 tons of rock in a week! Hats off to you.

Pony, I hope your DH is feeling better.

Since I was tied up with a visitor until last Thursday, it took me FOREVER to catch up with the news & photos from the roundup. And I half wish I'd been with you guys, how sick is that.

But I'm hoping that the Oregon title will arrive this week for my Airstream that needs to be delivered to its new owner. If so, I'll be driving up on Sunday to Port Angeles, roughly a 6-hour drive. Looks like I take a left at Olympia. Do any of you live near there plus might be interested in a visitor on Sunday night or Monday morning?

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

We're 30-45 minutes North of Olympia just off of I-5 if you feel like making a side trip on the way back. ;)

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

I'm 45 mins. west of Olympia and north of Shelton on Hood Canal. My garden only takes about 5 minutes to see, but it would be fun to meet you if you need a place to sleep or a stop for lunch. Not very far off Hwy101.

Be aware, Summerkid, that on the map that road looks like it's easy to travel, but it's totally not. Once you get onto highway 101 the road is winding, narrow, 2 lane and goes through many small towns that slow you down. lThe last time I traveled that road, last year, it was under heavy construction, which slowed me down even further. It took me 5 hours to get there from Tacoma. Generally I get there in 1.5 hours going the other way. I don't know if the construction is finished or not. If you have all day, enjoy the ride. If not, you might consider going through Tacoma and onto the Olympic Peninsula via highway 16, and then to Highway 3, across the Hood Canal Bridge, even though it looks further. It's further in terms of having to drive through Tacoma, but it may be faster. Highway 16 is 4 lane all the way and even 3 generally moves quickly. If you go that way, find out if the Hood Canal bridge is on schedule first. Check this website to get information on traffic on Washington roads, something I highly recommend you do before you leave. Just a word to the wise. I'd like to think you won't leave Washington cursing our fair state. Your '6 hour drive' is probably wishful thinking.

If you go through Tacoma, stop by and say howdy and take a potty break.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Well that's true but it is the senic route.^_^ I think the construction is done.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Hmmm .... so glad I mentioned this since now we're getting the xpert opinions. Six hours is just what Google maps is professing. I dread traffic more than I do twisty "scenic" roads because it makes me nervous to have other drivers around a trailer that is already sold ...

Thanks for all the hostessing offers!!! Maybe I can get treats at all of them, much the way my dog makes her round of the neighbors in the morning, sees who had pork chops for breakfast.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, I've still got your freakish yellow snapdragon seeds here... and Chianti sunflower seeds. Still haven't made your wind chimes, but I think I have a piece of wood that will work now. *tempt tempt tempt*

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Would SO love to see you, pony, as long as your husband's heart would hold out.

Also, everyone with your rock-haulin jones, I am strong like ox if you are on one of my route options & need a hand. Would be delighted to help out.

One other thing about the rock walls -- is everyone aware of the hypertufa brilliance going on elsewhere in these forums? Someone makes incredibly realistic looking boulders and entire walls, often with styrofoam as a base.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

The hubby would likely be at work, depending on when you came by.

I have seen the "boulders" in the hypertufa forum. Pretty awesome. I do want to try hypertufa someday.

I'll see if I can dig up some livasnaps for you. Do you do tricks?
I both post and haunt the tufa and cement forums, but not lately as it just tempts me to overdo it more than usual. I made the rocks in my front area. Too much fun.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Summerkid, Pix's has a point about 101 It has some tricky spots, but a very scenic route. If you go 16 to 3 also what she said, I'm am 3.5 miles from the Hood Canal bridge but I woul need to know real quik if you as coming. Then I can take the day off and jump in my jeep at see heidi at Dragon Fly.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Tilly, a bit confused here. You are recommending 101 or the other route? Unfortunately, I won't know for sure that I'm making the trip until that trailer title arrives (otherwise there is no way to make a handoff to my Canadian buyer).

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Also a note to that. Going 3 and 16 to I 5. I can make it to Coos Bay in 6 hours, Have family there We took 101 once took almost 8. Just a thought and we where just in a car.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Easy drive, I 5 to 16 to 3 Un less the wrong time of day, Rush hour. best time late evenings.

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

OK, good to have options. I just have to get the trailer up there safely. On the way back, I can horse around.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I want so to finish this. I still have Julies to go and the last day at Lynns.
Went back to work today, Boy was I lost LOL I got split days this week. So I am off tomorrow and then Friday. Want it done LOL

Thank you Holly I never seen that pot.^_^ Cool lookin

Laurie, thank you for the name of the Datura, Pic's has giving me seeds. But no luck.

We are still going, off to explore Julies

Good to know, go the easy and fast one coming up, then take the fun one going back. Now that works LOL Great idea.

This has a story and I missed it. Need a little help here. LOL

I just had a giggle. It may take you 6 hours to come up, but may take 3 days to get home LOL

The bridge was so cool, have no idea what Sharon was pointing at.

Oh, Mary, do NOT say that! I have other things to do, maybe, other than living life to its fullest & getting everyone ELSE to horse around.

My exish-b'friend says I ruined his life with my lack of work ethic.
