At this time, I realized I had dropped something and had to retrace my steps to find it. And I found somethings I missed.

Pony, I think you will like them.

The fairies must have thought we were all gone, so they came out to tell stories about us. LOL

Coming back down, after I found what I dropped.
Phoenix was after something by the back door.

It's all too much. I'm reminded of the comment made to me by an astonished Costa Rican hombre once upon a time:

"You take dog to U.S.? YOU ARE MILLIONAIRE?"

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Aw yeah, Tills- you know me too well. I LOVE the dragon. And the one reaching down into the bowl... OMG so cool! I'm jealous. ;)

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, I'm behind again!
Lol, Pix on the outfit and camera. Poor Mary probably thought I was avoiding her because I was trying to hide from the camera the whole time. It's so not fair-Rick pretty much can't take a bad picture and I can hardly take a good one.

And speaking of Mary, wow, so many pictures--Julie & Sharon, lovely gardens, all of them. You've reawoken my "space envy" in a big way-I so want a little more breathing room! I've even been indulging pointless fantasies and looking at real estate listings that I can't afford. :(
Oh, love the dragons and the peachy dahlia-it's like a sunset.

And I think I missed saying this-not even sure it's the right thread. So sorry to hear about your stepdad & mom, Tils. {hug} We're so right there, too-it's incredibly hard. We got home from the RU to discover that Rick's stepdad has also suddenly developed severe back/hip issues and has been bedridden ever since. We're waiting to hear the results of tests today. Hope things are settling down for you & yours.

Summer, my garden is nothing like any of these folks, (theirs are larger and more organized, I think) but I'm pretty much right on your way either north or south (east of 205, though). Might make for a decent potty stop-or a place to kill time if you need to pick someone up at PDX again one of these days. I do enjoy guests-especially ones that take plants home!

I haven't commented much, but have been thouroughly enjoying reliving our weekend through all of the photos. Worlds of thanks to everyone, especially Mary, for sharing your efforts! It has been fun to be able to revisit everything at a much more leisurely pace!

I think Pixy already said it once, but it is very strange to see your own world through the photos of others. It is a unique kind of walk through your own world.

Sue, thanks for the compliments! The pictures do a good job of showing off the good and hiding the "not so good"...I love the space that I have, but would also love to just once have even half ofthe gardens cleaned up the way I would like them at the same time.... never going to happen! Then again, I understand the "space envy"....I get it every time I go into a house that is over 1000 square feet! I console myself with the fact that it is less space to have to clean.....

Summerkid, We were sad that you couldn't join us. Do take any chance that you get to meet some of these people if you are traveling through the area...everyone is fantastic!

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

I wanted to post this seperately...

Mary and Sue, you both have all my sympathy in dealing with your parents/stepparents. It is very hard to go through health problems with family members, especially if distance is an issue.

You too Pony and Tracy. I am hoping the final tests come back as positive as the rest.

Sending hugs your way and hoping that everything works out OK for all families...

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I want to give a bow here, to me LOL for going out of my mind here trying to post them in order. I would give anything (almost) to have your garden's and your time to do it all, and be 10 years younger LOL

Susy, I do have pic's of you, and was nice not to post them. but sorry they are on Photo bucket.

I did not take any hiney photos, to make all not worry. Maybe alot of the backs of heads or bodies.

But note to self, but a bag over head. when someone is taking Pic's of one's self. Sorry I was sad how my pic's came out. Hate them. I never look like that before til I had Skin Cancer on my face.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Pony. We did not have time to really converse so to speak, At the party. But the things you have said in your posts, So reminds of my younger days and my son. Who will be 46 soon LOL

Off to bed early call
Hugs all
Tills

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Honey, we all feel that way. But we need to enjoy where we are because it only gets worse, right?

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Cheers to Tills, for workin' her fingers to the bone posting a million photos! Yaaaaaaaay Tills! Thank you, Lady! :D

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Tilly, I'm so sorry you had skin cancer, and I truly hope it is all gone and not coming back. Made me cry thinking about what you have gone through. All I could see in the pictures of you was your beautiful soul shining through. I guess I cry too easy, and too many people I know are fighting cancer of one kind or another, and others gone now.

Tills you are one brave lady, and goal oriented, too! Hurrah for you that you posted all those photos. I hope your fingers are still intact!
Those dahlias look good enough to eat! Ever since Lynn told me that you can propagate dahlias by taking cuttings, I've been seeing other people's dahlias in a different light. I passed by one at my son's school today - cactus type, orange with white tips - and considered taking a piece of it. Probably would have if I hadn't been running late for work.

So, summerkid, sorry to hear that the b'friend is 'exish' at this point, but I do have to make the point that no one ruins anyone else's life without their permission - work ethic or no. Latest book I'm reading is called The 4-hour Work Week - written by some incredibly gifted and driven young man who evidently can convince anyone to do anything, and then pay him for it. you have to admire that kind of chutzpah. We need to out grow the need for a 'work' ethic and commence to growing into a 'live life to its fullest' ethic. So maybe you are just ahead of your time, summerkid. Aren't we all 'summer kids' at heart? Here's a summertime photo to remind you of the energy of summer!

Rose Lodge, OR(Zone 8b)

Pixy, you have captured the essence of my nickname, exactly! And Jack is only exish because he's so far away.

I USED to be that driven kid, though. Your book interests me. I'd write one myself if I weren't so &%$%# lazy.

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Mary,

I forgot to mention that I was impressed that you were able to capture one of my true garden fairies...I have never gotten them on film, but I know that they are there. I am talking about Post #7041213.... where my dogs are having a drink. Look at Hunter's side...his sides are totally black...see the dancing brown fairy on his side?

Eugene, OR

Wonderful Tills, you captured a rare picture!!

The pictures are great, mainly because of the beautiful subjects.....the gardens. They reflect the hard work and love that has gone into them. And a gathering of people who appreciate them. Great job everyone!!

Monticello, MN

Really am sad that the party seems to be over - no more photos?
Was amazed at how a still look at a garden is so different than a stroll through the same garden
Thank you to all of the photographers for their perfect shots
This thread was the highlite of my days - (well maybe there were others - but)

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Have missed a few days and WOW! it's fun to catch up. Tills, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the time and care you have put into making this an RU anyone could enjoy.

Don't worry, one of these days I'll pop in on the PNW and see you in person. What joy! MHF, thank you for thinking of me per your post. And all the rest of you as well. I feel sooo at home here.

Summerkid, I had been wondering how the 'visit' had gone. I agree, that things are only done with the permission of others. Have a safe trip delivering the trailer whenever that happens and enjoying the company along the way.

Hoping Tracey's tests all turn up with good results.

I'm starting the whole physical thing. Mammo, Dexascan, bloodwork, etc. Anyone know about Lexapro? Please Dmail me. Thanks.

Did everyone look at that photo Till's took, Post #7041213? WOW! I didn't notice that the first time around, but I may not have enlarged that photo. Wow!

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Pixy, I'm glad someone else saw it and appreciated it! I had to do a double take. I would like to think it must have been having so many earth oriented folks being in my garden at the same time that made one of my fairies less shy!

(Sharon)SouthPrairie, WA(Zone 7a)

A HUGE thank you again to all of you who contributed photos here and to photobucket. It has made reliving the weekend very special and has been really something to see the four gardens in other people's eyes. A particularly special thank you to Soferdig and Mary. The time you two invested has been astounding and the results very much appreciated. Steve, I would love to have a hard copy of your commentaries. Do you know how that could be accomplished?
Also a thank you again to Gwen, who has been trying to keep photobucket in some semblence of order. (Hope you all have continued posting there as I plan to download the whole thing one day.)

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

I had enlarged the photo, but missed the Fairy. What a shot!

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Love the summer power shot.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Jan - what do you mean, "starting the whole physical thing?" Did I miss a post?

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I can not believe I missed that, as many times I have looked at all thes pics. Trust me many LOL. Plus I was ask By Julie to down load the dog pic's to the bucket so she could get prints of Phoenix, Julie they are there Look for RU dogs.
Thanks All; Glad you all enjoyed them as much as I did in taking them, but next time I do this I got to come up with a better plan LOL. 400+ pics at I forgot how many differant things going on all on one chip not counting Lynn's to. And I promised to take as many as I could, for those that could not come to RU. And from the sound of it (pat on back) I did good. ^_^

When I got home, no was here. Dogs with dad somewhere.
And here comes Tilly just waltzing or should I say taking her time, to welcome me home. (there was no speed here)

Thumbnail by tillysrat

Glad you liked it, Willow. I love the sun shining through that particular bed in late summer.

Tills, Cats never hurry. They wouldn't want you to start getting used to them being glad to see you. LOL!

Still reeling from that photo. Unretouched, right?? Didn't do anything to it, Julie?

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Pixy, I am still amazed at the photo myself. Mary was the one who uploaded it, so I didn't see it until it was here on this thread and I found myself gawking! No touching up on my part! I am hoping that it is one of the ones that Mary put in photobucket, as I am dying to get a closer look! Haven't had a chance to look yet, but plan on getting there tonight!

Mary, I will pat you on the back again too! You did great. The welcome of a kitty is very different from that of the dogs, but just as wonderful!

Okay, off to check out photobucket and see. That is just so strange!

So, where is the link to the photobucket site?

Pixy....it is wilder when you can actually zoom in. WOW. Photobucket site is: http://s1008.photobucket.com/albums/af204/pnwroundup/

You should have gotten a d-mail with login/password....if you didn't, d-mail me and I will send it to you. You need to check it out. There are lots of good pics that I haven't seen before, and the fairy pic is on page 8. To zoom in, you need to click on it until it is full size on your puter, then right click "save as". Will be curious to see what you think!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Don't you guys think it's a humming bird-esque fairy?

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Okay, I did not tamper with it trust me. But Julie is there one hanging about that could of cast a shadow on Hunter and I pick it up. This is so amazing to me, on how I did it. Or someone gave me a flag, to say you have none in your yard LOL Hunter stayed with me almost the whole time. Did he pick this one to follow me. Or did you do it LOL

Okay. found it, saved it to desktop and enlarged it to 800%, then back down to 400%, then settled at 200%. Nope. not a hummingbird. Not a moth. Not anything I've ever seen with the naked eye before. My computer programmer, logical left brained husband is completely flumoxed as well. could it be????

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Wait !!!! that was not my camera that took it, Mine had died and I had Lynn's then. But I still took it and I have her chip. I look at the bucket and my own HP photos Its there.
