DAILY PICS VOL. 241

They seem to favor the peanuts in the seed mix. Have you seen them in the area? If so, putting out some sunflowers seeds mix with peanuts that is a sure way to lure them there. :-)

Nice Mockingbird WC!!

Only have seen them once...the first spring we were here. Maybe not enough dead trees or open areas right in my little area. They sure are pretty!

Sent to me in an e-mail. Wish I had taken the pic. Looks like my cat BUM when he was a kitten.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

aww!

Agree with having a tree for nut storage… Every time I go to my Mom's house, I see a Red-Headed WP on this tree.

Wonderful pics everyone!!

Linth, I continue to be amazed at the viriety that you get in that area. I lived in SilverSprings for a while near Rock Creek or Sligo Creek park (not sure). Was 8-10yo and developed my love for birds and the other little forest creatures there. The creek was right behind our appartment building and I would sit on a rock wall for hours watching , listening and feeding the little critters.

Lighting isn't on my side, this morning. But I've just had a feast for the eyes! Lord and Lady 'Bama just brought their fledgling to the feeder!

Please note; one has to enlarge the thumbnail to see the currious cardinal.

Linthicum Heights, MD(Zone 7a)

BirdieBlue, Rock Creek Park attracts a lot of birders especially during the migratory seasons. Warblers, in particular, tend to congregate there during that time. There are many good birding spots here in the mid-Atlantic with a lot of different species.

Thus far in 2009, the top birder here in Maryland has seen 319 of the 343 species recorded (in 2009). The all-time number of different species seen is 413. So, there is a lot of potential. Just need to be at the right place at the right time.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Congrats Lily...I know you have been waiting for the little ones!

We have several Juvie Cardinals that come to the feeders. The are so cute!
