duc, I did get one pic of a Golden, but I'm not going to waste band-with. :) Jane, OKC Zoo has some Lorikeets and they are one of my favorite attractions. Unfortunately they won't be on display again until next year due to construction.
Not a great pic, but a good bird for our list. A Lewis' Woodpecker. Taken along the San Juan in Pagosa Springs.

Nice Red!
Nanny, that Catbird is pretty too!
Great bluebird pic Dave!!!!!!
Looks more like a juv Baltimore Oriole . . . but what it is doing on the ground, ????!
OMG! I've been trying to get a Baltimore Oriole for years and when I finally get one I don't even know what the hell it is? I suck as a birder. *sigh* Thanks Resin, you made my year! I didn't even know what it was ducbucln, but thanks? :) Here's the scoop Resin. I just started birding or attempting to this new place near my work. I had walked about five miles and only had about an hour before they locked the gates. I took a casual stroll and saw about five birds flying from the trees to the ground and back again. This was a treeline on the edge of a field. I couldn't get close enough for a good pic as they would always fly. I couldn't tell what kind of birds they were or see them good. I took a look and aimed the camera in the general direction and took about ten pics. This was the best one. I got home and put them on the puter and thought ok, immature robins. I was looking for a pic to post and I posted that one without even checking the birdbook. After a lot of cropping, that was the end result. Imagine how happy I was when you said it was a Baltimore Oriole!!!! This is major for me! :)
LOL 24. you are so funny.
Thank's Lily, NM_Jane, I never thought I would see Pelican's and Canada Geese together like that thx! 2dCousinDave, that Bluebird shot is awesome! Great photo's by everyone! 24goingor5, way to go!
Sorry Reddirt I meant to mention in my last post that before I came to this site I had never heard of a White-headed WP or a Lewis WP, thanks for sharing!
Hello Teresa, sorry for the delayed response, but been away from the computer. The Cardinal shots were cropped very little and the Bluejay, if I recall, was not cropped at all; He was so close to where I had to back up some to get focus. I shot them out of my basement window. I just setup a log on the ground with some seeds in it to get them close and used the basement window as my blind (I do this sometimes when I can't get out). Try luring the birds closer and using a window or something as a blind. Also setup some perches nearby so they perch and that way you get the shots while they are perched and not at the feeder.
Here's one of my other favorite birds...The Chicadee

I came to the bird forum, looking for some info on the male cardinal feeding the teenagers. I cannot get a picture to save my life. I find it so interesting the actions of those teenage cardinals, to get the Dads attention. I know its common knowledge to you birders...but I about fainted when the Dad started stuffing seed down its throat. I have had a good week of this out my window, very enjoyable 'watching'. Anyway, as I was scrolling thru, there was a picture of it, to start this thread.
Yes, sometimes it takes a long while before their broken of their dependancy for food from the parents. :-)
