Beautiful pics Met! Thanks for starting the new thread!

Rose, Very nice shot of the Sandpiper in the last thread.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Wonderful Cardinals! This young Red-shoulder Hawk spends a lot of time on our fence, watching the squirrels.

Another shot. These photos were taken through a dirty window, at dusk, with a 300mm lens. Didn't know until I viewed them on the computer, that they were this clear. A very pleasant surprise.

I love that second picture of the Cardinal feeding the young one.....beautiful!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Nice snaps. This evening I put a deer cam overlooking my bird bath. I wonder what I'll get?

I understand that there are a few birds that will not visit a feeder, but will visit a bird bath.

Oh well, we'll see.

Quoting:

Yep - anything with a particular diet that can't find what it wants on a feeder. But virtually all birds want water, either to drink or wash.

From the Osprey nest this afternoon. Pied Cormorant just before it vanished behind trees.

Doesn't it look like this Great Egret and Laughing Gull are about to take a scenic ride in this little boat? (July)

From the boat in July. An Osprey Mom with her 3 chicks. They nested on top of a buoy marker.

Pelle, they are beautiful photos. I absolutely love the one of the Egret and Gull going for a boat ride. That's priceless. Of course, I'm rather partial to Ospreys.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Nice start to this thread Meth.
A good close up of the Red-shoulder hawk, bsharf.
Pelle you got some really good shots, from the boat. Lovely birds.
Margaret, what I would give to see your birds. They are very colorful over there.

A visit from the Cedar waxwing a few days ago. He needed a bath.

Wow! All the pictures are just awesome! It seems like they just keep getting better and better! Margaret, I wish that I could be in Australia! Burn, I love the surroundings and settings in your pictures. Pelle, I wish that I could be as lucky as you and get to watch the Osprey, and see Cape May. Bsharf, great pictures of the Hawk! I got to see one myself this morning. I've been trying to find their nesting ground, or hunting spot... I finally found it. Hopefully they will stay around long enough for me to get some better pictures. Meth, how do you manage to get pictures like that (of the cardinals and blue-jay). Do you crop you photos, or are you able to actually get that close to the birds? And they're so clear!!! I wish that I could have gotten you to take a picture of my hawk.

Essex Junction, VT(Zone 4a)

I've seen this lady(?) around a few times, but she's quite shy and never stays long when I'm around. I'm surprised I even got this "good" of a picture. Is it a female orchard oriole?

The chipping sparrows have been around a lot lately, even at the feeder. Here's a shot of it feeding its young.

Haha, Poor young Crows! I wonder if the birds feel self conscious during the molting time?

Pretty Scrub Jay!
