Well, I think we have everything set for the GS.....New Trader Joe's opened in town so we made the mistake of going to check it out for our Free Grocery Tote Bag.....what a circus!!! But they do have great prices.....will wait for the newness to wear off and traffic jams to go away before we go back...
Today's DG Articles were both great. No canning to do here but I adore all of Sharons writings....always brings back childhood memories. Geoff's article on staging succulents really got to me....I got busy and re-potted several of my house plants, many of which are succulents and were in desperate need of potting....need to pick up some more materials when we go shopping tonight...means I will probably end up with a new plant or two.
For now just going to rest up a bit...play with the paints if I get the energy while I wait for Bill to get home.

hi all - quick note - heading out to my yard to transplant some stuff to take to tomorrow's DG Calgary Roundup (2-4pm). I organized it, sorta, and it's at someone else's garden. We bring as many plants/seeds to trade as we can. It's a PotLuck, too, so I'm bringing homemade buns and butter, plus paper plates, etc.
There's about 10 people coming, from Calgary & area ^_^
Gotta hustle!
Now this has to be my lucky day...you have been found!. Sure have missed you all.
Hugs to all
Faye
Used to love bidding at this sole auction house in this area. Stopped going when I noticed, coming in early one day, that the bestest stuffs had been specially tagged and not auctioned off.
Now the only bidding I do would be on eBay.
So, Donna, your family's finally reaping what you've sowed. Don't you just love home grown tomatoes. Even grocery store tomatoes that were supposed to be 'organically' grown don't taste like the ones we grow! NOT close!!! Must be different sunshine!!!
Trisha, me too love Shar's articles, especially when she wrote of those old yesteryears folk herbal medicines. Learnt some things from her.
I know you'll have a good time at the RU Susan. You'll be leaving more than what you've brought, plant wise.
Sadly, I've never been to any RU. One day.
Hiya Faye. Easy to keep track of SI. Just check into General Discussions forum, and look for our latest threads. Missed you sistah!
It's such a restful evening tonight. Kel 'sawed' logs after filling up his belly. Poor guy will be back assuming more responsibilities again, when his brother leaves tonight.
This week, his brother has been bringing his dad for the shots and chemo treatment. That has helped Kel in just focusing on the shop.
Cindy.. tell us that your grandaughter's fever been broken, please.
Monk's on!!! It's a shame it's his last season!
Will keep Kel and his father in our prayers....it has to be difficult to take his dad for treatments and keep up with work at the same time.....
Yes, Cindy, please check in...this is a difficult time and we worry about you...
So many of Shar's articles remind me a lot of my childhood in Oklahoma...wish I had her talent for writing and the patience to do it...
Thank you so much Trisha. Kel truly appreciates it. I know at times he wants to break down and cry. But he just put his best food forward and trust the Lord to carry him through.
You'd make a good story teller, Trisha. Why not give it a try?
Eyes are tired.. wonder why :D So I think I'll just call it a night.
See you all in the morning ladies.
Finally back home...and tired, have to be at mom's by seven thirty so tink I will call it a night...
Have a good night Jaye, and all.....sleep well.
Morning everyone! I was so tired, I fell alsepp at 8:30, and just now gwtting up. Coffee is on!
Thanks again for all the well wishes, and prayers.
Andy was born 1 October 81. Maybe he does have some lucky numbers? I am off to fill the hummer feeders, and just enjoy the day!
You all have a great day!
LK
Good Morning, all!
Here's some fresh buns & butter, coffee's on, and I have some fresh saskatoon jam to spread on the buns.
Anyone for tea & biscuits? Apricot jam, if you prefer, is here too.
~Susan~
So glad those nerve racking moments are over, LK. You have a good rest today too. Enjoy your brugs... sip something 'mahhvelous'... buy something online!!
Got my buddy's name for Cindy's swap. Not something I expected, but hey, it's always good to make new friends right?
Hehehe... and I've already bought some houses.. but of a different kind.
Think I'll stay home today. Been on the road everyday, and body's taking a beating. Move aside Maid M :D That sofa in the corner is mine!
You all have a wonderful Saturday!
Susan, hot buttered biscuits I like :D Thank you!
My late MIL used to make biscuits as hard as bricks. Good only for dunking in hot coffee!!!
'sfar as I'm concerned, the only thing you should dunk in coffee are those little Italian cookies - biscotti (They're as hard as a rock LOL)
IRL I'm baking buns - they're on their first "rise" now
Ahhhh biscottis... another wonderful treat to grab at World's Market.
I did say I'm staying home today, right.. might just go to the WM!!
Susan, I'm not into making breads or pizza doughs. That's Kel's deparment. Anything requiring kneading, he enjoys that.
I know those 10 folks will enjoy your buns, and might give you extra seeds!!
Warning for Yahoo email users........
I don't use my Yahoo that much, but I've been looking for a particular email (friend moved into the city, and I wanted their new ph# etc) so looked @ it yesterday.
1. I have a "notify" email other than Yahoo, in case there are changes to my account.
2. My other email contacted me to tell me my password had changed and another account (anakonda.hell@yahoo.com) had been added.
3. Just by clicking on the link from Yahoo in my other email verified who I am, and I was able to delete their yahoo and their hotmail account from MY account.
4. I changed my password & secret questions to something very unusual (and strong password).
5. Sent an email to Yahoo asking if there was anything else I could do, and gave them the ID of the person who was "tinkering" with my account.
I've had my Yahoo account for more years than I can count - in the '90's anyway - and I have a lot of history in it.
I wish I could export all my email, but I only have the option to export my address book..........
I was sure glad I had a secondary email for notification!!!
~Susan~
btw - this isn't the 1st computer ID theft I've encountered:
years ago I used to have ICQ (1996, I think, to 2002), and one day I couldn't get into it (It's a mini chat prog, and everyone gets unique #s - some that were very low were getting "sold" on EBay! I think mine was 11177 - it's been awhile lol)
Anyway, my friends were trying to contact me, and getting someone in Romania! She said her boyfriend "stole" it for her, and he didn't like Americans. My friend said "Susan's Canadian". The Romanian said "we like Canadians!!", so my friend said "Give it back to her then". "No" says she..........
and because we didn't have the verification processes we have now-a-days, I couldn't get ICQ to return the access to me........
Identity theft is so rampant today!
~Susan~
Checking my Yahoo email now..
All safe for now.
I do list a secondary account, and had also set up a false email addy.
In case of group emailing from my account of which I didn't authorize, I would notice that false email addy right away.
as simple as aaaa@madbones.com
Susan, take pictures please. Wanna see all the plants you will be trading and happy stuffed faces!!
Talked to Kel, and he's all game for a trip to WM.
Catch you all later. Have a wonderful day and echoing Faye somewhere... don't forget church Sunday!!! :D
I spoke to one of the UCW church ladies the other day and she said "We missed you on Sunday..."
I gotta tell ya - after my 2 wks vacation, caring for my mom, and my being sick - all I wanted to do Sunday was sleep & rest my brain...........I was so taaaaaaaahred! I know the Lord gives you rest, but I swear he was telling me to rest that day, and take my vacation then....I'd done good!
Looking forward to starting choir again this fall! My voice feels rusty LOL
~Susan~

Well you all take care now.
Jaye and Trisha, remember that you both will always be special too me.I love you both.
Jaye,i will call you maybe tonight if not one day this week.
Hey Cody, drive safely back home.
Wowwww Juanita.. she truly 'flipped' for her beau!!!!
Thanks.. for that little pictoriall info.
LK, Cody doesn't drive. She depends on others' kindness to bring her around.
Susan, we're given common sense right? Sometimes I wished certain people would just miss church.. like the ones sneezing or coughing nonstop during sermons....
This church I used to go to had an old preacher who once threw up right there after giving a sermon, from a bad dunnowhat. He said he does not like to miss church.
Yes, just got back from WM and did we stock up on choccies!!! Don't worry sistahs, eating them sparingly. In case you're wondering which is Kel's.. it's Ritters Marzipan.
Trisha, any look familiar to you? Tonight, I'll try the one with chili and lime.

I'm really to begining to hate doctors and nurses. Now my granddaughter's has not ruled out the H1N1 virus completely. She is still running temps of 101. They want to do some chest xrays now. I'm so worried, I hate this not knowing for sure and have to wait until Monday to get the xrays done. We are going to visit my brother tomarrow and I'm just not in the mood :(
Cindy, visiting your brother would bring some distraction to your mind.
For now there's nothing you can do till Monday comes.
We'll continue to pray for your little one.
Jaye you are killing me. I love Ritter. Discovered it on a flight through Iceland. The airport stores had every variety made. I bought coming and going and ate off of it for a year. Then realized I could get it at WM here. :0)
Juanita, have you ever tried Ritter's Hazelnuts. Like my niece would say.. "It's de bomb!"
*hanging my head in shame*.... I really haven't forgotten you gals... I've missed you all so much... Life has gotten hectic, and have had a series of events happen that has kept me away... but I think about you all very often.
Just a quick update... we have 2 exchange students this year...
Inaluk... we call her Ina... is already here from Greenland... a really lovely girl... really tall, and really skinny... looks like a model... so, I've got the ole' shotgun ready for all the boys that might show up...
Chanitra... nickname, Eve... will be here next weekend from Thailand. I don't know a lot about her yet except that she's never (in her life) made anything lower than an A in school... and she likes to eat, and cook. Jaye, can you address that ability a little bit? I sort of like that part about "she likes to cook" because I love Thai food...
NOPE... the boat upholstery isn't done yet. Good thing too... we decided this week to rebuild the peices I was suppose to be working on next... so, now... I'm waiting on Don... oh, the irony of it all.
Hmmmmm... wonder how you could make up for this lack of attention to us old gals....
I know.. more of your brisket BJ.. wait, that's Don's! :D
We understand completely.. take care of real life, but please remember that we love you!
Wow!! You will have a full house, BJ!!
You're lucky to have Chanitra. Most South East Asian kids, especially the girls, are taught to cook before they hit their teens. Seems like you'll be having your own gourmet chef, BJ.
For the first few weeks, they both might be glued to the tv, you know, get themselves used to American culture ;)
How is Michael? Have you heard from him?
I have heard from Mike... we email at least once a week. He's wishing he was here this year instead of last, since I'll have all these cute girls... yea, like he'd be able to get his hands on them... LOL. He's doing fine... back in his old school, and melded right back into the home routine quickly. I knew he would... he'll do fine where ever he goes.
Guess I better throw away the scales, then... huh?
Lolol.. you and Don will not be looking like third world refugees for sure!!
Now all you got to do next is find out where Dallas' Chinatown is. I'm sure Chanitra would enjoy a visit there.
Kel says he expects pictures, us too!
Pictures... that's another problem... the card reader in my computer isn't working... won't recognize my card... I need a new computer so bad...
TV... Ina is already fascinated with it... her family only gets "1" ... yep, that's ONE, channel at home. She can't even begin to try to channel surf yet... give her time... she'll get the hang of it.
Ina will enjoy having another girl around, especially from Asia. United Nations at BJ!!!
Hopefully Ina will adjust. It will be easy on Chanitra, cause of the American influence in Thailand. Then Kristy will have so much to show the two girls!!
Well I'm off to bed. Call if you can sis. We miss you!!
Ohhh she's very pretty!! Yep, oil that ole shot gun :D
Poor Mike.. but he himself is a handsome fella, shouldn't have any problems attracting home town girls with his cowboy hat ;)
So good to see you tonight.
Good night Sis.. good night everyone!
