Aloha ahiahi! Good afternoon everyone! Happy Labor Day.
Labor Day Weekend is when folks from all over come and ride their Harley Davidsons (and other bikes) around the Big Island. It had been a tradition for several decades.
Here is the Saddle Road, with the Hills of Omaokoili in the background.
This is where Mauna Loa (new lava) and Mauna Kea (old lava) meet; and where Pele (the lava goddess) and Poli'ahu (the snow goddess) would do battle.

Hot Dang I found ya! Hey people Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day. Went to eat yesterday before going to apple festival. Well medical condition prevents me from eating too much at once but if you have a Ryans there you know a spoonfull of all your favorites can make a hearty portion. On the way back witnessed a wreck right in front of us (nobody was hurt). I brought grandkids with me. We stopped by the store to pick up a movie and before I knew it I got sick and had to barf in the movie bag lol. Then went to car wash and we got stuck because I couldn't find neutral. My gauge is off lol. Boy was I glad to get home and kids were good, just hope the soapy bath water they used to water my peace lilly doesn't kill it. Mowed today so things are humming and maybe back to normal what ever that is. Nice pictures!
Beautiful picture, Dave. Aloha ahiahi.
again, beautiful pictures.
May I call you Dave? Metrosideros is a little hard to copy when you are farther up on the forem lol. Looks like your weather was beautiful today, especially after the rain.
Hi Smileymom, hope you are doing well
Hello everyone....Back home with GSJ, Hi Julie, good to see you. Hey Karen, Sorry you felt bad yesterday. Glad it was short-lived.

Hey Moon, just glad to be here finally. Think folks are pretty busy today.
Hi Flowers and Moon. This is my do-nothing day, so that's what I've been doing!

Hey Dave, don't wait out there too long. it may take me a while to hop that far.....grin dinner sounds tasy though..doing Lebanese pasta here tonight. Said I was lazy and it is easy to cook.
You do know I am NOT joking Kassy....grin
Got a side car for groceries Dave?
MY new truck has ON_STAR....Nyahhhh I'll find it....grin
Hey Kassy!
Yes Flowers, please call me Dave, most folks do. How do you refer to yourself?
Thanks for the comments folks; show us the native forest in your area!
Koa trees start out with bipinnate leaves like many other common Legume trees. As they mature they lose the true leaves and the petiole expands acting as a leaf. This gives the tree the ability to photosynthesize and yet hold up to high winds, battering rainfall, and other factors that they must deal with in their pristine, but often harsh environment.
Here is a young plant trying out its' petioles!
Dave my name is Karen. Jean can your on star help you fly over water? lol Kassy you should go into photography you take some clean shots

I purchased an omni 2 ditital camera from an individual. Its pretty cool takes videos and all. The only thing is I can't find a driver for it that stinks.
now I lied, did find one online site that had a universal driver for 20 bucks and may just have to fork it out to use my camera to post pics.
