2009 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 6

Lets see your hummingbirds!

These pics are from this morning. Not enough light to use manual settings so everything taken in automatic. I just love their feet!

This one is a bit blurry but I like it because you can see how chatty she was.

She is a pretty one Pelle...thanks for the new thread.

We still have many Hummers and they seem to enjoy the flowers as well as the feeders. Here is a flash shot from Monday morning...it had gotten dark due to an approaching storm. They were in a real feeding frenzy and were very loud as well as active.

Here is a group shot from yesterday.

This juvie was busy all day yesterday protecting the thistle that was in bloom.

I usually cut the thistles before they bloom but this one got away from me...and I'm glad!

This one kept disappearing into the Daylily and then would take a rest!

and was also guarding!

Last one for now just because this one looks so pathetic.

My pictures aren't near as clear as some of yours but I've had this Hummer that hangs out at my feeder all day for the past week or so. I'm guessing he/she must be a youngster, since she will just sit and sit and sit.

Mel, I find that mine are doing that a lot too lately with the high humidity. That is a sweet shot! Looks like it may be a young male.

Rose, Your shots are wonderful; I can't imagine having that many hummers!

Not a great shot but what it lacks in quality it makes up for in quantity. I counted 27...some are just blurs but it is fun to watch!!
