I enjoyed those photos, Allison----the butterflies on the butterfly bush were fantastic. Shelley, that gaura is the common lindheimeri---no pink on it this year----too overcast maybe? Did you raise that geranium, Jen? Nice color.

I wish I could take credit for it but I got it at RU with the MidAtlantic bunch of DG'rs, I'd have to check to the tag to see who it was from.

Celeste, Your Lilies and DL's are really stunning.

Nice, Dyane

For everyone who has Oriental lilies....which one is your favorite? I need to add one to my order from Brent and Brecky.

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

This year I liked 'Time Out', 'Tiger Woods', 'Angelique'

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

it was from me Jen... glad they are doing well... the ones I planted in the containers in the back are doing well... the ones in the ground up front... not so well

Robin... that's good to know. I had no idea that guara might loose their color in some situations.

Dyane... I always like helenium, but that one is new to me and a great color!

Flowerjen.... very pretty!

Allison.... I like that combination.

I'm only guessing that's why there's no blush on my gaura---don't know for sure! Jen, I really like Black Beauty, even though it's an Oriental cross---anything blooming well in Aug. gets my vote!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Pixie is your prettifuly dahlia perchance 'Mango Sunset'?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Does Black Beauty have a fragrance?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Robin.... It sounds like a good guess to me! I know that there are a few other plants that do that, so why not! Some friends of mine that I house/pet sit for occasionally have that 'black beauty' lily and I think that it's well worth it! Not only is the color great, but it smells really nice too. Theirs gets very tall as well, at least 6'. But, that might because it's in a fairly shaded location.

Pretty Oxalis Pensacola.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

lol....Please do!! I would love to know myself!! my friends whose yard it's in don't know what kind it is.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

'Christmas Star' redchic. Dan's Dahlias in WA should offer it in their 2010 catalogue http://www.dansdahlias.com/product_details.php?category_id=199&page=2&item_id=485

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

I think it is time for a new forum.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You mean a new thread?? I'll start a new one. Do you have dial-up? Does anyone?

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

i dont have dial-up but it take forever to get to the end where i can post or say something sorry

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just hit Skip to New, and that will bring you to where you last were. If you hit the END key on your keyboard, it will bring you to the last post.

Christmas Star and Final Touch are just gorgeous!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks Dahlia! What a fast response time too! that's great. There are very few plants that I ever say that I am for certain that I'm going to get when it's available. (providing it's not an exhorbitant price) But that's one of them. Most of the time I say/think that I like something and it gets put on my want list. I chip away at the want list eventually, but it never ends! lol.

Those are both great shots Victor.

Thanks Flowerjen.

Thomaston, CT

I really love Final Touch----just planted it this year in the new bed---glad I'm going to like it! The Christmas Star is also pretty----I need to plant more dahlias. And echies---Tiki Torch is nice, & I've been thinking about Rocky Top. Anyone grow it?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - yes, Final Touch is one of my favorite DL's.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love that dahlia RC!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I'm falling behind but all the pictures are beautiful as always. Thanks all for the nice compliments, im glad your liking my blooms. I don't always get to enjoy them as much as I would like this year and I feel like all I do is weed!!
It is only 7 weeks to DD's Wedding so im even more of a scatterbreain than usual, but i'll try to answer the questions.

The dahlia is one from the coops called 'Autumn Fairy'
The red phlox was something I picked up at a greenhouse, it didnt have a tag so i don't even know if it's hardy or an annual.

'San Souci' one of my favorites.

So many pretty photos! I am surprised there were so many great plants considering how bad the weather was this summer. I do have Hydrangea, Ferns and Astilbe that were all very happy with all the rain. They look the best I've ever seen them. [g] Lilies are pristine this year, having managed to keep the RLLBeetle from chewing them to pieces for a change....

Very nice shot.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Shelly, love the dahlia shots, especially the red and white one. That's a real stunner! Love the echi with the butterfly friend, too.

Nice shot of Final Touch, Victor! I have that DL too, and I love it.

Celeste, that San Souci lily is amazing! Reminds me of peppermint stick ice cream. Yum!

I second both Victor and Allison on that, lisabeth!

Karen

Robin... Sorry, I don't have any experience with that echie!
