TY sunshine. they can grow about 5' x 5' but can keep smaller in a container.
Tropical Garden # 47
and this is another neo, actually a ball of neos, lol. Owner took two hanging baskets, lined w/ sphagnum. top basket planted like you would any regular basket. Bottom basket, neos were planted on the outside. Then two baskets joined together. I imagine this is a two people job. Ball is about 4 ft and extremely heavy as you can imagine.
Sunshine, I could get into hoyas, I'm discovering they're very easy plants. that one you have is lovely.
Wow! that fireball neo's are gorgeous!!! I can only imagined the price....
Vossner, most of the hoyas are very easy. Each one with different flowers, I love them. But then I love all the plants. LOL
I didn't even ask how much the ball was. I may try making my own using 2 reg. hanging baskets. Now to find 200 neos, lol.
I think I got that one from FL colors 3 yrs ago, this is the first yr it has bloomed. This year I have been good about fertilizing the plumies.
You're right, the plumie hauling bit in the winter is a big, big PITA. Wonder of yours is Aztec Gold.
huh, well, like you say, you're supposed to water the cups only, but I have a couple of neos indoors and I still put a little bit of water in the soil when I notice bottom leaves drying out, not much. I will ask next time I'm there, but I wouldn't be surprise if she gives them a give spray with the hose and the water from the top trickles to the bottom.
Also, I would imagine you plant the bottom basket like you do w/ the upside down pots. You plant them, give them two weeks for roots to take hold, then you hang upside down. Or in the case of the ball, after two or more weeks, that's when you join the two baskets to form the ball. If you did right after planting, plants would probably fall off.
Ardesia, you're half way there, lol. wouldn't that one be awesome in a ball?
Silly me, I planted them in the top of the basket instead of the bottom. LOL
I think it is a type of Syngonium podophyllum http://davesgarden.com/sitewidesearch.php?q=Syngonium+podophyllum
Not positive but that looks like a pineapple lily, Eucomis comosa.
I call it pretty!!!!
I had to chuckle at that one RJ. "The Mess" just doesn't have the same ring to it as Jungle Heights. :-)
LOL
Messy End
Lili, it could be a young Cirinum plant.
Randy, I'm still envious. The rock is a very nice accent.
Christi
Joeswife, I have to agree, the Blue Jishi x ten ten, is a real beauty. I hope that she produces lots of seeds (hint)
vossner, I thought that I could get my passport renewed in Houston, but have since learned that I will have to go elsewhere.
I love your plumerias. They look so healthy, but I am more jealous of those nurserys that you go to, that carries all those nice big plants.
I looked up the crinium and I wondered if my leaves are too narrow to be a crinium.
Lili, it might be a young Queen Emma crinum.
I have most of my crinium in the ground. I may dig this one out and keep it in the garage this winter - just in case it is not frost hardy.
Awww RJ .. I love that shot.. so glad u got some rain!
James, I love that coclasia, i got me some this year for the water tub..
Rita I love your Nanas' Garden..
So.. my criniums should do something then? I have four. two from Tropicman and one from AuntB, They are just leafing up space so far..
I wish I had gotten some gerberas.. but I will see alot of them in Buffalo at my MILS"
