Dany's garden # 3
Dany - I definitely feel a future trade for us! You want some seeds from the NOID vine on my Help thread and I would love to have a few seeds of your yellow I. nil. :-)
That is such a soft color of yellow! Very, very nice. No name for that one?
Dany - Thanks! "Full Moon"... I like it! Quite the perfect name for it! :-)
The variegation on the leaves of this one is outstanding! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6922817
Your Dark Storm is quite interesting! My dark storm was a dark blue color: http://davesgarden.com/community/blogs/t/beckygardener/7252/
I like yours very much!
Are you using a flash on your camera when taking these current photos? Your Hatsu Arashi is much lighter than mine. Interesting that you got a "paler" bloom on the same vine as the other two.
This one here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6922841 VERY NICE!!! Certainly a good idea to cross to see waht you will get!
Dany I like your Star Of India.. it is different coloured than the one I have..
Your collection is mind boggling.. just keep them coming to us! ;D
Dany - Just beautiful each and every one of those blooms! Fancy little French Can Can!
You sent me 10 seeds from a Japanese mixed bag of 50 seeds. You did a good job of sorting out the I. nils in the mix from the I. purureas, I. tricolor, and whatever other Ipomoea seeds were throw into that mix. Out of the 10 seeds, 6 germinated. Of the 6, 1 died. (It was literally growing upsidedown. Flipping it around didn't save it because it had already started to rot.)
Now, out the 5 remaining, this one has very light yellowish-green leaves. But look closely ... there is variegation of darker green on the light leaves!!! I thought that was pretty cool!
I've not seen this before. Usually it is darker green with the lighter variegation. I don't have any clue as to what the blooms will look like from the seeds you shared with me, but I love a good suspense story as it unravels ...

Becky, that is so cool! Can not wait to see what they look like.
Dany, all your MGs are just beautiful! Love them all, but the pink and white stripes are especially pretty.
GOOD Becky !
Lili it look like this pic
In Japanese the name is : 松島の清風 ミュータント朝顔 正木
In English = Mutant of morning glory Seihuu Masaki Matsushima or Drizzling Songdo or Bloom and Leave Shibori ( ebay )
I have a plant for 2 months and it shows no more Shibori leaves - I placed in shade, I hope the bi-colored leaves come back
that is so cool looking. Do all the blooms come out like that? half and half - that's what I would call it. We have a creamer here that goes into your coffee that is called Half and Half. :)
Dany - Thanks for giving me an idea of what it might be: Mutant of morning glory Seihuu Masaki Matsushima or Drizzling Songdo. You said that your variegated leaves disappeared. Did the variegated blooms disappear, too? That's really interesting to get the two-tone on the blooms AND the leaves! Very cool indeed!
Gorgeous blooms Dany.
Dany,Lovely, just lovely..
Becky can't wait to see those grow out!
I edited this post for seed savers - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=6916904 . In this case, perpetuation of MGs like Dany's peony-shaped MGs above is more a matter of producing the seeds correctly in the first place for the desired flower.
