79? You will have to get out the long sleeves. So happy to hear you have had some rain.
RIta, thanks for the compliments on the lotus but those plants grow themselves and I feel guilty taking any credit. Are the porterweeds annuals for you? I have tried them but they never come back for me. The butterflies and hummers love them.
Where's my rain RJ? You're supposed to share!!!
You didn't get any?
my water bill came in at $180.00 - 22,000 gallons
$180 for a month? That's probably my water bill for 3 months.
Count your blessings. I normally spend about 200 and up in the summer and I only run the irrigation on an as needed basis to equal 1" a week. This extra rainy year I haven't had to turn it on and the bill is running less than a 100/month.
BTW, White Linen Night sounds so cool, I want to come.
I'll book you in the guest bedroom!
yes, I too was looking at that cool website for White Linen Night. Sounds like a great place to live. We will probably just have an ice cream social. Wish I could win one of those ice cream party that Edy's give away sometime.... but I never win anything....
Rita, thanks for the close up.. I really like that, if it sets sets, save a couple for me.. your chalis vine is trying to take control of the front vine corner.. thanks so much, can't wait for a bloom, it is having babies tho, there are now three starts at the base of it.. you can see the leading top of chalice to the far right of this picture.. it was just about a foot tall when it went out.. it is almost four foot long.. and one of its' sports is coming between the brug leaves.
Look how pretty your gophrema is .. I found out is called strawberry delight.. LOL a nursery lady told me..it contrasts well with the giant white zinnias, and the white silvermound lantana.. my thanks to the DGr that sent me the triple datura purple plant seeds, my hubby loves it and goes out to see it every night.. ( that takes a lot for him in this heat) When this bed was brand new , he strolled up and down it and saw the few plants I had in it and asked" is this it>? what about all this space thats bare> " HAHAHA The power of seeds..
White Linen Nights...sounds like a perfume from 7-11. LOL Doncha love white linen???
Great photos everyone!!!
Rj, sounds like fun! always enjoy your blog.

Rita, the plant that needs IDing is some type of cassia, host plant for the sulphur butterfly. Some cassias are more desirable than others but since sulphurs are my fave, all cassias are good. I do not know which one you have. I'm surprised yours is blooming already. Mine tend to bloom in early fall.
I thought porterweeds were supposed to be thugs, no?
i love the crinum w/ the boxwood, mixing formal w/ wild.
joeswife about your cleome, it's supposed to be a reseeding annual in my area by mine didn't come back from last year. I didn't replace, just ran out of time.
