Rock, that white-headed wp is incredible!! That accidental is amazing too!!

Great shots Lily. Cute Cardinals!

I believe these were Bushtits in my table fountain. I took the picture through a screen so it came out dark.

Thanks for your kind comments. I'll try to get them up in 'Bird Files." Here is another looooong shot in deep shade. Shaped like the Solitaire but speckled all over. Could it be another juvenile?

Resin--Thank you for the ID. That makes two new birds for the day!

The Rufous Hummers have gone but the void is filling with Anna's. Male in poor light.

Their heads just glow when the light is right. Sorry for the poor quality but they are much more shy than the Rufous. these are long shots cropped a whole bunch.

I've this darling Carolina Wren that joined in at the grain feeder, this is a new discovery for me. I'm so glad to see these cheerful darling birds coming around. :-)

Thanks Resin for the bird's identity confirmation.

My Orioles are gone, duc. Checked Ebird and there hasn't been one reported in OK since 09 July. Oh well. We had a good season and it will help with the wasp problem. Enjoy yours.

Love your Orioles duc!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Red, do birds help to keep wasp in check? Oh Duc, your Orioles on your flowers are some of the most beautiful pictures I've seen!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Cool hawk shot pelle! I hope to be seeing some soon. I have them a couple of times lately.

I'd think the larger flycatchers like Kingbirds would take them.

Over here (Europe & Asia generally, not so much in the north where I am), there's a couple of specialist predators on wasps, Honey-buzzard, and the bee-eaters.

This thread started a week ago which reflects the current state of bird activity for many of us. Once the heat of the day escalates, bird sounds and visible birds become less obvious. So, for now, if I don't see it between 7 a.m and 10 a.m., I won't see it !

Here's a recent photo of a small flock of Canada Geese.

Nice shots GP!

It has been oppressively humid here the last few days. Big storms came through last night even creating a tornado in a Pa. town. This morning it's so beautiful out with a lovely breeze. Lots of birds here along with the nuisance ones.
