Here's volumes 2, 3, 4 all conflated into one . . . 234 ;-)

Immature Grey Heron. Closely related to Great Blue Heron, but with grey thighs, not purple-brown thighs.

And a Reed Warbler - tricky one to get, a skulker of a bird, usually hiding in the reeds!

...and I like the angry purple finch. :-)

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Burn, love that grumpy finch!! I didn't know the Robins liked grapes. I'll have to try putting some out in the fall when they migrate through here.

I was excited the other day to get my first photos of a Black-crowned Night Heron. They're here year round, but I usually see them in the higher trees.

I have a question and need advice. I would like to repaint this feeder, and was wondering if that would OK for the birds.

Gardenpom, your photos are all really good. Our Mockingbirds seem to have disappeared, but hopefully they'll return soon. Love that Cardinal and the Grackle too.

Nice shots GP. Here is my poor male cardinal. He has suffered all summer with the feather mites.

Cute juvenile Cardinals GP!!

They do look sad Dave.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

GP your juvie cardinal looks sweet. The problem with paint is lead? Or is that old fashion thinking, now aday did they take that toxic stuff away from paint already? Maybe young folks can re-educate me.

Oh Dave, I wished your cardinal gets over that. Poor thing!

Here I've a female cardinal, not sure what she was hogging, I meant hugging, but she was really serious about doing that. lol.

Great shots!!
Raining hard here all day the birds are hiding. I was taking a shot of my flooded back yard when I noticed this Robin taking shelter from the deluge.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

The 13 day old Eastern Bluebirds come to the worm feeder cage and beg the parents to feed them. They haven't figured out yet how to feed themselves.
