What have you ordered for 2009 - Part 9

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I ordered some Iris reticulata last night along with some lily bulbs from bloomingbulb.com. I have ordered from them before and had good luck with the lilies they sent. I am wary of ordering spring bulbs in general from them, I think they send good quality stuff, the problem is they seem to send things that don't look like the names. Their guarantee is only to replace if you don't get a growing thriving plant. That right there says a lot ; ) I went with J. Scheepers because their guarantee is also to the right name. That matters when you have a spot where certain conditions need to be met. Like me with part shade, I need Dafs that are known to do well in some shade not dafs that look similar, but may not like the shade so much. Ya all here me right? : ) The Iris reticulata are supposed to be 'Joyce' but I figured with the blue ones, they all look an awful lot alike, so no biggy if they aren't. I keep swearing off Lilies and yet I can't help myself when I see one I like! I need help. : ) Lol

You're just like me, Meredith---I'm still ordering the lilies, even though the lily beetle is eating every one of them here! Also, I liked the Purple Passion mix so well, I just ordered it from Bluestone.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

ooo LUV the colour on Marquee Meredith. My lily order hasn't arrived yet which is ok cuz I have more than enough bulbous things already to plant. After 3 days of planting and laying plastic fencing I'm pooped. ps. If that sprint froggie pops up one more time in a thread I'm going to squish it ARGH!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm with you Daliahnut.
Those cutsie things are just useless.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sprint froggie?? Are you getting ads? Turn them off in Preferences.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I know Victor but I like looking at the ads from suppliers. Sorry I'm just whining cuz this particular froggie is annoying.

South Hamilton, MA

Have the main ads off here--I'm not interested in them; interested in people communication.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have no patience at all for ads.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The ads I hate the most are #1 political ones #2 Pharmaceutical

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I have my ads turned off too. I still see a small one in the top right corner of evry page. That doesn't bother me. Those pop up / trailing types drive me nutz though, don't blame ya. : ) i GOT COMPOST DOWN ON THE BED FOR ALL MY BULBS THAT i AM ANXIOUSY AWAITING. : ) Ooops I just noticed I had caps lock by accident. I don't feel like retyping. Sorry I am not shouting! : )

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Caps lock happens

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

stopped by a local nursery the other day and spotted this smoke bush tree - Cotinus coggygria 'Young Lady' - it looked interesting so i decided to do a little research - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/123787/

and to my utter surprise the first two member photo's are from victor

coming home with me today - 2 gallon container $15

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! It's a nice one.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor has everything!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

all in that litltle teeny weeny 1/4 acre with lawn, pool, and pond - this smoke bush gets to be 8' x 10' - how does he do it the math does not add up? :)

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Lol Ge
Wow that's a very cool looking plant Wha. I love it. Nice taste. : )

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

thx meredith - in full disclosure victor had it first :)

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Ha ha Victor has nice taste too. : )

Thomaston, CT

Smoke trees are awesome---there's one not too far from us---I always admire it, but I have no place to put one. Well, if I ever cut down the crab in front---but the birds love the fruit.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Great deal on the luvly smoke bush wha. I see your smoke bush and raise you a 2 gallon Euonymus alatus 'Bailey Strain' which I just scooped up ^_^ I want a smoke bush too but mine won't be a fancydancy one as it will die right back every year and never smoke (which is better for its health anyhoo). re: the math at Victor's, maybe he lives in a wormhole? Everything fits in a wormhole.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The new math!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actual property is 0.6 acres.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I need a what Victor has list... so I am not being a "me too.. me too"

LOL

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Didn't we have a "Victor's plants" thread a year or two ago? I think I remember it sustaining me through a winter ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have to keep changing them so it remains unique!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i made a list last fall by going back through the photo threads, it took a while. many on the list came from you know who, also patti, red chick and others. this year those threads have not been CLOSE to what i remember last year.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very nice, Jen.

This is the first time in well over ten years that I did not place a fall order with FW. They probably think I died!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

What a great idea flowerjen and how prettiful to see the seasons. I NEED to learn how to make collages. I also NEED the blue star tulip. For late summer white: phlox david if you can use a tall. One of my favs

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

There's always Montauk Daisy for a white, but they get very BIG.

I need to learn the collage thing too.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh yeah Victor, they'll def think you died.
