Today's weather in your garden - 50

South Hamilton, MA

Any rocks for bill?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Many gorgeous rocks! I highly recommend visiting. It's an awesome experience and I don't use that term lightly.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

He'd have a hard time getting home with all the rocks! Welcome back Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, jumper!

Here is one of many.

Looking forward to more pics Victor, it's been a long time since we went, but the caves were cool!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Sun!!!!!!
There was finally sun!!!!!!
Just to let you know what kind of a summer it's been, tonight is only the second night all season that we've turned ON the window fans.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I forgot to say, welcome back, Victor, and I can't wait to see more photos of your escapades!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - the caves were cool, both literally and figuratively. 54 degrees felt really nice!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Candyce!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I remember when we went they had piles of jackets for anyone who needed one.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They don't do that anymore. No tripods allowed, so pics were real tough. No bags of any type were allowed either. Security.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll probably do a thread of photos, but here's one more.

Thomaston, CT

Oooh---scary---did the boys like the caves?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

victor you did not answer the question which is a concern - any rocks for me?????

oh yeah welcome back :)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Looking forward to your vaca pics too Victor. Sounds like a great time, I bet the kids were enchanted..
Hazy and foggy this am. Sun tried to make a show for a bit but the clouds seem to be winning now. Mid 70s and very humid again. Chance of more rain later, what else is new.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very nice Victor... sounds and looks like you had a nice time... always good

68 now... poured earlier... still drizzling now... getting a short break and they are saying some nasty storms later on today... AGAIN... 68 now going up to 80

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks all! Yes, the boys loved it. I thought my younger one might get scared when they turned off the lights but he was fine.

Raining steadily. The summer of rain continues. 72.

Thomaston, CT

Yes, same here---same old, same old---RAIN---have many garden things to do, but not today.

South Hamilton, MA

I saw carlsbad when I visited my brother in NM. It was a bit offputting when you realized that the park service was behind you turning off the lights, but a fantastic show. I never got to the Cave of the Mounds when growing up in WI.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Welcome back, Victor.
Storms, storms and more storms today

Grand Forks, BC(Zone 5b)

I am not from your region, but kinda like it here. Hope you don't mind if I coment here.

We are experiencing a terrible miserable heat wave for the past three weeks. I would trade any of your rainy days for this. 101F yesterday, a little lower today. We are used to this but not for extended periods. A real challenge to keep the gardens hydrated. Flowers and plants are not happy. :(

So don't despair your weather...it could be worse.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jen.

Feel free, Don! We like to hear from other regions too. I have heard about your heat wave. Crazy weather all over the country this year!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Randy and I went on a slug mission tonight... must have killed 30 - 40 of them in the matter of a 1/2 hour

way too gross!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ewwwwww

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

hmmmm...slug eradication on a date..

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

sad part is ... it was only the long section of garden in the back... I gave up after being too grossed out

68 now going to 86... supposed to be a nice day

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - guess that's a sure sign that tv shows are in re-runs!

68 and sunny. Hot day on tap.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Currently 60 and sunny. Not sure what the high will be, too tired to care. Took DD to a horse show yesterday. We had a cool front come through yearterday and showers came through with it. Made the first few classes a little wet.

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Dry, Breezey, Sunny... high of 85.... Lovely! I could stand a month of this...(yeah, right.. lol)...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

At this point, I'd settle for another week or two. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i heard the first heat bug of the summer today.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I am still not hearing crickets at night. That usually starts by mid-July. Weird.

Thomaston, CT

No crickets here, either! But a nice sunny, hot day on tap---finally.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

mine have been chirping for quite a while... 62 now going up to 88... two nice days in a row... woo hoo

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Currently 66 and on its way to maybe 90. Jeff rode off on his bike at 5:45 am toward Ocean City. He should be there about noon before it gets too hot. He has done this once a summer for a few years. Maybe it has something to do with turning 60 this week. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

74 and sunny. 90 predicted here as well. Will be first 90 of the summer.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

DH just called. He's about 15 miles from his sister's and he's having something to eat and a huge glass of orange juice.

Feels very humid.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats to Jeff! How long a ride is that?

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

About 65 miles. I really was glad he took my cell phone and called. Now, I can relax. :)
