We had some thunderstorms roll thru where my sis is North of Denver and some areas got hit with 70 mile hr winds, trees down, etc. They just lost the satellite connection to the tv. It really cooled things off for the next day, it was gorgeous.
My mom has a long road to recovery, at least while I was there she was having very good days, she may not have remembered my name right away but recognized me and knew that I was her youngest and remembered that I was there the day before. She still can't get out of bed without help or move to the wheelchair on her own. She has physical therapy every day and they have a occupational therapist working with her and a speech and memory therapist. They are starting her on a alzheimers med that should help with memory and give her some more good years. Medicare with only pay 20 days in skilled nursing and then she has to have an evaluation if there is progress but still can't do things for herself she can stay. If there is NO progress they have to move her to long term care. They got her sugar stabilized for the past week, which was good. Very tough seeing her like that, esp since she's so far away, but glad my oldest sis has a good head on her shoulders to deal with all the paperwork and stuff.

Thanks all. It's tough, I told my sis (ya know) you don't think you'll ever have to take care of your parents. They are supposed to live to 100 and then die in their sleep.
Sounds like your Mom's care is getting things stabilized. Hope things work out well for her and your family. I can relate, take care of my Mom who is 96 and has no short term memory. Other than that, considering her age she does pretty well but cannot be left alone at all. There are good days and bad days for both of us and I am glad I can go to the garden even for a few minutes to get a different perspective on things.
The weather here is gloomy and the rain looks to be finally slowing down after heavy rain dumped 2-3 inches more on the garden. Gusty winds too. Only around 60 degrees. Tomorrow should be better.
It is still pouring rain north of Boston & windy. I am still waiting for summer; we will get it on the weekend when in mid 80s which I consider too hot.
Cloudy and chilly 68 they say high of 86, that's an awful big jump.
A high of 63 for today... and torrential rain!! Looks like nice weather for tomorrow.. Hooray.. .maybe I can set some seeds...

I'm having a lobster feast tomorrow rain or shine!! I've ordered 15 lobster's, DD #1 ordered 6, DD #2 is getting 15, DD# 3 is getting 9, and DD's Aunt ordered 27!!!
Under $3.00 a pound, can't beat it!

Over 2" of rain here overnight & this morning. It really makes gardening difficult.
We were talking about lobsters this weekend too and we can get them right off the boat! Price is right for sure!

Beautiful day here---low 80's & a breeze---went to the farm & picked a bucket of blueberries---they are huge & sweet!

There is a Hilton Fireman's Carnival tonight that we were going to go to, that is where the tornado is heading. Just saw pics on the news. So far it hasn't touched down.

Debilu and I escaped the tornado and hail but strong winds and rain pelting down in sheets.
I had to check the garden this AM to see if the flagstone walks were still in place.
