Thanks Josephine for the link. It was very interesting. It didn't say anything about being a coleus, don't know where I got that, I must have been mistaken. I didn't know about all the medicinal qualities. Now I love it even more. I first intend to try it as a tea and a sweetener.

It is much prettier than the article described. Similar to purple basil but easier to grow and the butterflies love it. Beautiful mixed with red or yellow summer bloomers.

Thank you for the link on Perilla Frostweed! also it gives the other names of the Perilla, one of which is Summer Coleus.

So Sharon... since it re-seeds, maybe you can share some? I would love to grow some in my garden.
