Oh Betty loooook at your flowers!!

I completely understand you're going to be movin' Betty. I told Dave via email that me and him could go Saturday and do the Elvis thing, then we could rest and Sat night hit Beale Street. Sunday morning/afternoon we could get together whenever you get to town, get a bite to eat or something, then whatever you and Debbie want to do, then me and Dave could either stay there, go into Mississippi, or go home. I just need to burn a day, Dave needs to burn two, or we're going to lose them, but we don't want to waste a free day off either. What better way to burn a day meeting a very good online friend?

Well Dave may not be able to come at all. The 'new' manager, they've gone through 3 or 4 managers in a year, said that he was going to create more time off for him and his co-worker with a new schedule, as it's not fair that him and his co-worker have to work almost every weekend. Schedule came out and they have to work 5 days a week 8 hour days, then 10 hours a day on the weekends, they get one weekend a month off. I don't know how in the h*** that's fair.

Wow, we just had one heck of a storm go through here. A hard strike across the road, don't know how the power didn't go out. Very heavy rains, now tapering off and it is getting that "sticky" feeling in the air.

Crissy, that sure doesn't sound fair for your DH and all co-workers. My DH has similar issues with work...but somehow they manage to work it all out. We keep saying these days he is lucky he has a job...and we have to deal with what comes.

Betty, how are you moving this morning after all that work outside? I hope I can keep up with you on the trip! I am really excited to be going, and to meet fellow DG'ers. I have met two in my almost 5 years on here....I think will be 5 years July 15. That would be Betty and NAP (Nancy), who doesn't get on as much as she used too. Most of you all even have met SHOE at roundups and such...so your ahead of me! LOL

Judy, hows "the baby" Skittle doing? You know, you can feed him whatever your eatting for the most part. Little pieces of toast with jam (no butter), mine love cornbread! Another good one....frozen veggies! I always keep a bag, defrost a few pieces on the counter...and give to them. One of my birds tosses all the green beans out on the floor! Just like my kids! LOL Oh, and boiled eggs are great for him also. I am sure they definately told you NO to chocolate, avecado and iceburg lettuce. Careful with celery also...stringy and can choke easily, especially when young.

Missing Mary on here....where the heck is she. I know she was job searching, but was hoping she would be back.

DH and I stayed up late...watching NCIS Dvd of 2007 season. We have become addicted to that show for some reason. I think he likes the pretty brunette! LOL

Well, I am going to go sit some of my hanging pots out in the rain before it stops. I can bearly reach them...so might have to get DH to help.

Put everything else in a 'shower gift bag' size large and wow heavy sucker..might have to purchase a second one so it doesn't break..

Am sure niece Michelle will love it all!

When I got home that 'stained glass' hanging window on my back deck had the wood framing coming apart so I put some metal brackets to secure it, should be fine..should have thought of that last year knowing the weight of the glass..oh well, all fixed "Mrs. Fix-it" on the job!!!

Kind of ready for a little nap before beginning the cleaning phaze but if I do that, there goes my energy..

I think your going to need a piece of board under that to move it...so the middle doesn't fall out from under neath. I was going to say one of those big cookie or pizza sheets...but it is too big for even that.

Wanted to comment on Kyle at "boot camp" of sorts. I feel bad for him. Lots of "training" for those kids. I know they are trying to give them incentive and all that, but in the heat thats been around....and making them do that for their food...just not great. I am not a fan of some of the military tactics however...support what they are there for but.....bad experiences there.

Love the tape measure. I think that is what we gave the son in laws for one of their Christmas tools. DH every year adds to their array of household tools.....and we are even giving their wives their own toolboxes as they keep loosing the DH's! LOL

Not only did he get this new schedule but didn't think to email me and couldn't call me to tell me because he left his phone at work the night before and the battery went dead, he scheduled his weekend off this month already and it won't work for him to get the weekend you are coming down, I so wanted you to meet him. That's alright, I'll find a girl to go with me and maybe go into Mississippi and do a little gambling :)

I waited up for him last night as he got off work at 11:00 last night but didn't come home until 4am cause he went to the bar, he assumed I would be asleep, but he still has to drive within 3 minutes of the house to go there. Not happy about that.

Ha! He's all complaining about being too tired, I told him that I was awake waiting for him to come home after he got off work at 11pm, by 4am was worrying sick, and if he doesn't have the decency to come home after work that's what he gets. He told me that Christy wants me to go tonight by myself to visit her while he's at work, but he's going to try to get off early so he can come home and we can go out together. No No NO! What part about this doesn't seem fair?

Afternoon everyone.
Betty, my knee surgery is this coming Thursday. This past Thursday, we went to San Angelo, for a follow up for my back Dr. We went to Outback Steakhouse, and had French onion soup with a salad. it was sooo good! Don't know why, but neither Todd, or I have a big appetite anymore. Seems like we eat more salads, and munchy stuff! And when we do grill a steak or something, it is one steak, and we share it! Guess it is just old age creaping up on us? LOL
Hope everyone is doing fine! Tubby, love the jokes. Keep them coming please.

Sorry Linda Kay, thought it was on Thursday...Outback Steakhouse..my favorite..love the blooming onions..you know I'm not sure why it didn't go well in Barrie but they closed after a year, I personally think it was the long waits, people got tired and went to other restaurants in the complex...

Nora (MIL) Marguerite (SIL) just left, she came to get her pants I shortened, brought me 2 more BUT 5 of the ones I did are still too long..we measured 27" BUT still too long so will do the few that I've just tried and reshorten them then next week I'll drop in to their house and finish shortening so she can try on each pair...wouldn't you know..

It's the loveliest of days, Cathy dropped in for an hour and I sat down for the entire hour, actually I felt bad, am sure I noded off a few times..it's sunny, blue sky and lovely breeze...

Then Bernice across the street came over for a drink of lemonade, sat again, and now with in-laws..lordy I'm doing a lot of sitting..lol.she's amazed that I've got flox in bloom...

This morning I treated myself to a lavender plant..not the regular lavender it has the biggest open flowers..reg. $12.99 on for $6.99 and I also purchased 4 perrenial poppies..one had a flower already...Bernice didn't think they came in perrenial form but the tags say they do...

Was thinking of having a bath then going out and sitting but know once I've made myself comfy that's about all I'll be doing so won't go there just yet...

Got some corn when I did groceries, maybe I'll put some on, cook a steak and enjoy an early meal...

Introduced her to egg this morning. lol, tasted it, not so sure she liked it but then she could have been full...Now, we are trying to train her that if she bites, or flies where not belonged then she gets caged...Also, Jacob was allowing her to play on his head, yikes that is not good, so now he is working on the no thing. My I forget what it's like having a baby, but we are having tons of fun. She is a very fast learner!

Judy my dad used to play in jam sessions in the bars and didn't come home from work a lot of times until 3 or 4 in the morning. I know Dave's not playing in jam sessions or anything else for that matter, just brings back a ridiculous childhood dealing with it, and I'm an only child so I had no one else to deal with it with me. All my other friends and neighbors had their dads home every night after work but me. Dave thinks my reasoning is retarded cause he's not doing that, but it's not retarded and it's not funny like he thinks it is, especially after coming off a week with his family here and him saying, "When my families here You don't matter!" Seems I need to give him a little taste of 'doesn't matter.' The problem is my only family is my parents, so I'll never have family visiting like he does.

I'm so glad Skittles is doing good and going through training. They are like having little kids, but better cause they don't argue with you til you are blue in the face, and slam doors and what-not.

Betty you know me, I'll make the best of the situation. Like I said, if I go by myself I'll just go into Mississippi and stay at the casino where it's safest. I know it's not his fault he got these ridiculous hours, I sware that company is just "Work More! Work More! We'll keep laying off though so we can Save Money, but you need to Work More!!" It's really lame.

Oh oh. I just drank a virgin cosmo down really fast cause I want a fruit drink and there's nothing in this house, except after reading the bottle to see what fruit is in this one, I noticed that it's not a virgin. Crap! Now that's funny!! Oops!! I guess I'll be eating at home this evening. I wanted BBQ. It's a sunshine day here, can hardly see the computer screen for the sun coming through basement craft room window...having my coffee, going to do my hair and then just might sit outside and enjoy an hour or so in the gardens...there was so much work in getting them to this stage but now I can enjoy...

They had called for rain yesterday, all day long, happened early in the a.m. and again late p.m. so the cleaning of my craft room/laundry room just didn't materialize...sooooo will wait for the next rainy day..

Good morning all, Had a fun day fabric shopping yesterday with a fun neighbor. She is a fellow quilter and she's also a painter!!! She too does beautiful work Betty. You would love her. We went to a fairly new (to us) shop about a half hour away. We were there for almost two hours. She spent over two hundred dollars on fabric. She makes things for the craft fairs in the fall. The shop owner was so nice. She is helpful without being pushy. She is very thoughtful and remembers what you purchase. I was looking for a special fabric and she found some for me at another shop and had it sent to her so I could get it. She even served us tea!!!!! Now that's the way I like to shop!!!

betty had garage sale at my bosses made 85.00 i had one guy ask how much for both tables with all the stuff on it, i didnt know how to answer that?
kenny had come down and i called him outside and said what do i say ? he said lol let me take care of it..
he gave me 40.00 i was so excited to be able to unpack all of that!
i didnt dare tell him i had another table full lol
so it started at 8.00 and by 9.15 all of this happened lol too funny.
all i brought back was one plastic bin with 6 items no next saturday is the day! it is killing me to keep all of this in and not say anything yet cross your fingers.
what are you working on today? we had the strangest weather yesterday it was nice and warm and with no warning got overcast with rain and a little thunde crazy for us.

ahh that crazy dog cost us 100.00 to be given antibiotics and steroids and before we took him to the doc he ripped a huge area at his rear i was so embarrassed! he cried like a big baby, had to get kenny to put him in line all the doc wanted to do was check his belly omg it was pathetic then the worst thing was she said typical terrior guess its one of their traits lol did you get the pool filled? omg all their showing on the news is the sears tower and that new attraction.

Barb, how wonderful to have such a shop so nearby..had one in Midland but the owner passed away, heart attack at 66..he was wonderful, knew everything about sewing machines, repaired them while you waited, brought in what interested his clients...he had just remarried (maybe she was too hard on him) I know not funny..but she has sold the business .. sure miss Ted...

Trisha, I've about 7 hummingbird feeders, only seen one hummer so far and not at the feeders, was enjoying the flowers...nice way to spend the morning...are you biking today?

Liz, good for you getting rid of almost all your things...isn't it funny one day these objects that we can't live without, then our tastes change and we go in a completlely different taste..in fact Bernice was here yesterday, her entire house was Victorian...in the past 2 weeks everything has been cleared, newly painted with lighter color and most of her Victorian antiques/furniture she had from ancestors got stored away..must go over for tea tonight and see the difference...but we talked at great length yesterday about styles...

Right now it's just too much energy for me to change from somewhat country to anything newer..which isn't me..guess when I finally find what's really me I'll change...
