THE ONLY FLAG THAT DOESN'T FLY

Between the fields where the flag is planted, there are 9+ miles of
flower fields that go all the way to the ocean. The flowers are grown by seed companies. It's a beautiful place,
close to Vandenberg AFB. Check out the dimensions of the flag. The Floral Flag is 740 feet long and 390 feet wide and maintains the proper Flag dimensions, as described in Executive Order #10834. This Flag is 6.65 acres and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with 5 pointed Stars, comprised of White
Larkspur. Each Star is 24 feet in diameter; each Stripe is 30 feet wide. This Flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 Larkspur plants, with 4-5 flower stems each, for a total of more than 2 million flowers.

WIFE: 'What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?'

See a note on my counter telling me I need gas for the lawnmower so guess Cathy has been here and done the grass..she's a sweetheart..I'll have to find something next weekend while in Buffalo to get her as a thank you...

OMG I'll have to take photo of all the pretties I bought for the new baby ...now to find how I'll connect them to the cake..lol

Betty, Laura is doing pretty well...still have some medication issues.....they are going to Idaho to her brother in laws wedding next week....

My closest cousin in Oklahoma had a heart attack yesterday....they have managed to get the pains stopped...tomorrow they go in to see what is causing the problem and if it is something they can fix they will go ahead with the surgery...his wife is exhausted (she is a retired nurse and has been with him the whole time)...my mom is taking it really hard as Al is more of a son than a nephew to her....please keep them all in your prayers...we really need them right now.

Oh my, sunshine, 2 days in a row..haven't listened to weather forecast..they did say rain for tomorrow, am hoping not..garden is starting to look awfully pretty..I'd like to get outside and enjoy..

Trying to get ready and out of here a bit earlier this a.m. Want to see if the Barrie store has one of those Angel toys for the cake, press her arm and she says "Now I lay me down to sleep' entire version..bought one last year for the other cake so am hoping they still do...might even get a McDonald's pancake breakfast..forgot to have supper last night...

Morning Tubby..got to tell you you've got that all wrong..I'm the quickest lady you've ever known when it comes to getting ready...you can drop in at any time, give me 5 and I'm off...especially if it's for an excursion..

We've an Old Navy store here in Barrie Liz, thought it was just for children's clothing...I'll have to check it out...

Whew, speaking of animals Tiga was extremely hyper for 2 1/2 hours last night, running laps, got into the closet where we keep our plastic grocery bags and made a mess out of those, tearing my arm up, running more laps, peeling out and skidding in the kitchen, my goodness I didn't know a 13 year old cat had that much energy! She wore me out!

Betty Old Navy has everything, I don't particularly like the store myself, nothing fits me right. When you go in you have to look back in the store a bit, the womens is usually on the left, the mens on the right, and there's little squares you go into. The one here has their adult clearance stuff in either the 2nd or 3rd square back, the front of the store is teenage stuff, and the very back of the store is babies and children s' clothing. The center of the store is usually seasonal stuff, the one here had red, white, and blue swimsuits, tongers, and beach towels out just before the 4th.

Betty, if you want to try Old Navy....when you are in NF next week...there is a HUGE Old Navy Outlet store at the Outlet Mall Center. And that is the weekend the mall is having its "grand reopening sale".

I am one excited gal today. Seems like the planets have finally alligned...and it is beautiful outside also.

Taking Shannon & friend Brit to the college...more paperwork and college ID day. Ugh. But it is a nice drive to get there.

Judy, Skittles doesn't look spoiled at all. LOL I love that stage when they love on you and nap on you still. Just make sure that he eats and drinks....they get so busy they neglect themselves. Did you start on fruits?

It's beautiful here as well, probably close to 80 today..drats I can't get used to celcius, will have to go and do the conversation..they are though calling for it to cloud up tonight and rain, thunderstorm off/on tomorrow then a glorious day Sunday...oh well, can enjoy the sunshine while I'm driving to the city for the baby shower...

Everyone in the office today is smilling/laughing, joking..must be something in the air...all are dressed up which is odd because normally it's dress down day on Fridays...

Ohhh Debbie, grand opening same weekend as I'm in USA....mom called me this morning to go through a few travel things..she's excited..told her to bring a lot of cash..those casino's I'll take her to use up the bucks...me, I'll save my $$$ for the Dollar Tree..

Debbie, Thanks for supporting words on Skittles! Yes he has been having fruit. Likes strawberries and grapes so far. I understand he can eat spegetti as well! The kids get upset that I place him in his cage as often as I do...Keep telling them, he is just a baby and has to be "made" to eat and rest...I am so happy your riding with Betty!

Thanks Judy, sure wish all of you were on my travel path ..boo hoo but maybe I'll fly west one day, rent a car and do a lot of dg friends in that area..hey, maybe it could be a Christmas present from the boys..lol have to give them a few hints...

Well I've been playing with the map..

Here's what I'm thinking...

If I left home like in the wee hours of the morning on the 31st. I could be in Buffalo/Lewiston to meet with Debbie by let's say 9 or 10am..if we put in a good days driving we could make it to Cincinnati and spend the night..maybe have a few hours in the evening to check a few quick sites...

If we left early Saturday morning we could be in Nashville by noon then take in a few sites, maybe find me a country and western singer and spend the night in the area...

Sunday morning up bright and early and just maybe we could talk Crissy and Dave into driving part way to meet us, somewhere near Memphis...

On Monday morning leave bright and early and visit with Shar..maybe spend the day and night and leave on Tuesday..heading over to meet Bev....

Find accommodations near by and on Wednesday early am head north to Chicago- maybe even get to visit with Judy/Liz for an afternoon..

Thursday visit with Janice in AnnArbor and off to Lewiston by Friday aft.

Now to go and put miles and hours driving and see if this could be a workable plan...

Oh Debbie I'm so glad you're able to go with Betty!! That makes for a much safer trip and less worry for the rest of us.

Absolutely Betty. I'll let Dave know later this afternoon, he forgot his cell phone at work so I can't reach him til after 3pm, and see if we can work it out, shouldn't be a problem, Dave just said he has 2 or 3 vacation days needs to burn and I have a comp day I desperately need to take before it disappears, just waiting for the perfect time, which looks like I've found it.

Ooo I have a better idea, if Dave will go for it. I LOVE Nashville and maybe I could make a weekend thing out of it. Nashville is 5 hours, 48 mins from my house. Maybe if we left Saturday for Nashville, spent the night Sat and Sun night, oooo I just love that city, I desperately need to talk Dave into it and see if his co-worker will work that Sat. He just got word last night that the company is trying to cut back on weekend work anyway. Oh Betty and Debbie I'm so excited I just can't hide it!!

Crissy that's would be wonderful, but I have marked Memphis on the list..think what I've done is workable...that way not one person will get tired of us..lol

Figure is we don't sleep we can get to see and do more...or take turns, one sleep/one drive...sightsee together..lol

Me and Dave made it cross country in 1 1/2 days switching drivers like that. The problem is you don't get a restful sleep.
LOL Betty, you are too funny!! Memphis is great, besides, he's already agreed to that and he can see Graceland. Have either one of you seen or interested in Graceland? LOL I'm just trying to make it easier for you and Debbie too, maybe save you a day so ya'll won't have to rush so much.

Well that certainly would be nice..yep, saw Graceland about 6 times...actually when I was first hired as Manager of Toronto branch for American Express omg so many years ago now, my training so that I could train was in Memphis..but then, Elvis was alive and no Graceland to visit..

I saw it back in the 80's and they've added a ton of stuff to it, and different packages you can buy for what seems like not too bad of a price. Let me get the link to the website.

Paul let us go shortly after 2:30 so headed home and have been out in the garden ever since...have to rethink what I have around the pond, couldn't even see that I had a pond, so I've worked almost 3 hrs. pulling out high growth, some I've replanted and if it lives it lives if not oh well...

What I'm going to do is mark a chart of what is where and what I'd like to move so come spring I'll know..it's pretty enough but I love to see the water...I watered everything even sprinkled the decks to give them a fresh look..you know those weathermen, say a storms coming in and rain all day tomorrow, if I didn't water, they'd be wrong and plants would die so if it rains they'll be well taken care off...

Wow what a pile I've created for burning...

Haven't eaten yet so best I go do that, bath and then a night of relaxation..

Might just go and take a few photo's before it gets dark..lots is coming into bloom...

Crissy, I'm excited about meeting you and Dave, but remember we're on a fast train ride..lol..and would only be spending part of the day, however, you and Dave can do a lot of sightseeing after we've gone...I'll work a little more with travel times and drop-ins to know better...will make sure I keep posting...

Judy/Shar, we'll I guess you've both rubbed off on me, got me some roses, actually forgot last year I got them when you were both talking about your roses..but have to move them into a garden of their own next year..too hidden amongst other flowers..

Looks as though there will be several blooms on this yellow rose bush...
