Liz, Debbie is about 3 1/2 hrs. from my house sooo she'd be about the same distance to Judy's, pretty well an entire days drive..trying to con her into coming with me on my road trek..lol

Lordy you are a softy..you sound much like my mom and stepfather...if they can't take the dog then they financially support it at either the rescue unit or with an individual who would take in the dog but can't afford it...

Last night when Aunt Muriel was at the house, she was petting Sailor, now she could see that Sailor was having difficulties with her hind leg..was telling her that I most likely would have to put her down before the winter or shortly there after..she said I should ask my brother Bernie to build a ramp from basement to outside so she wouldn't have to climb steps...lordy, if she can't get up, does her business in the house because the cold so bothers her then why keep her in such pain...

LOL it was Dave's $20.00, 3 T-shirts at $6.49 a piece. I was going to say I bought a pair of shoes for work and 3 pair stud cubic zirconium earrings, then our visitor showed up but he's gone now.

Tubby, Izzy is a Newfoundland...with a border collie Mom. She weighs about 110lbs we think. Sad part is, she thinks she is a cat. Keep telling DH she needs a buddy dog...but he isn't the dog loving type....although he recently asked me if there was such a thing as a minature lab.

I know, traveling wise, that my SIL in Michicagn is about 5 or 6 hours from us. And my other SIL in OHio is about 4 hours from us.....SO..I would figure a days drive to Chicago. I went to Chicago zoo when I was a little girl...about 5...and one of the best times I remember.

Betty, I would just love to go with you. I am going and getting my enhanced license when DH gets paid Thursday. One way or another, if I don't go on the trip with you...I will be up there to visit at your place.

I have a feeling the weather is really playing havic on the head today. I am wanting to sneak away to a green house also. Hmmmmm.

Yea, that's close. I drove through it last October but didn't stop as I was by myself and it was almost dark. I've been to Memphis in the mid 80's, did the whole Elvis thing (parents were huge fans) but they've expanded it big time, plus I was 9 or 11 years old, I don't remember which trip that was. Me and Dave were going to do it last May, but chose the cruise instead. My conference is supposed to be in West Memphis this October, so I'll get to see Beale Street then, and one of my DG friends might meet me there so we can do some gardening stuff.

Sounds like fun..I'm surfing the map looking for a travel plan should I decide to actually get in the car and go..I did this with last few trips..I get enthused then a little intimidated by the distance alone..wouldn't be bad but today I can barely feel those fingers on left hand..keep thinking what if/what if...

From where Shar lives, Memphis would be mid point for us to get together...opening all options here..lol

I don't know if asked for prayer for my 80 yr old sister Doris but am asking now. A week ago Fri she fell and broke her arm right art the shoulder and splinters went into the socket. She has allready been in chronic pain for yrs with this and that. They had to put her on Morphine and put her in a Nursing home. She is not good. She has bed sores on her bottom and her legs and feet are twice size. She can't sit stand or lay without pain. Thank you . BEV

So I talked to Dave on the phone right before I left for lunch and I flat out told him that the problem is not with Roy, or brother for that matter. The problem is brother wants to compete with Roy. Roy doesn't care because he's almost 70 and just trying to survive. But it still upsets Dave as it is his brother and he just wants him to be friendly, but brother can't be friendly because he's competing. So it's a chain reaction, brother's competing with Roy and Dave respects Roy and get mad because brother's being a jerk, then it all falls on me, then because I'm an only child and can't relate to brother/sister bonds it causes problems in our marriage, and we're very lucky and don't have problems in our marriage.

Dave agreed (yay) and said he's upset that brother won't come see our house, I told him that brother will never come see our house because he'll never own a house himself, he's too busy spending money he doesn't have. The money he spends has to be put on credit cards, which are all high interest because he'll rack up a credit card to max, then make minimum payments on it plus miss payments here and there. He'll never have the credit to buy a house, especially in CA, therefore he's already lost that competition before it even started, so he puts on this front that he doesn't care anything about it, again being a childish jerk.

Bev, so sorry to hear about your sister Doris...does she live nearby where you can visit?she must be in tremendous amount of pain to need morphine...her feet being so swollen is that because of the meds or are the kidneys not functioning properly..

Will include her in my prayers...

Crissy, you probably feel better verbally bringing out into the open what you think is wrong between Dave, his brother and Uncle Roy...

I learned from a rebelious, argumentative niece today, how to use vocabulary. Now this is 21-year-old, not a teenager. She posted a rude remark on facebook (our family page) that no one had better come up to her and complain about anything anymore. After what the soldiers are going through, we had no right. So if we were going to complain, stay out of her face.
I thought it was a bit bossy so I wrote back and said gee, does that mean I have to stop being human? Everyone complains pretty regularly, but it does not mean we don't feel especial empathy for our soldiers.
Well she argues what she said and what she really meant. So I just say, Brittany, it was the tenor. She never answered back, probably because she didn't know the other meaning for tenor - only as related to singing. I should have read that book years ago about how to argue and win. I'm pretty good now but missed about 40 years at being adept with words.

I've given up looking at some of facebook entries of some of the family members..especially the young ones..the photo's at times are a bit too visual and comments and use of language just not appropriate for the entire world to see let alone your family...they keep telling me I'm too old fashion so I just don't visit the site...what I don't know doesn't hurt me they say...

she is mad at certain family matters so she wants my boss not to talk to her own brother ect,

told her to walk away, the dil is jelouse and has some serious issues she see's things that are not there, and blows things out of proportion, just sick twisted behavior.
im use to that with my family, so i have been trying to toughen her up not a easy task
she is not use to that kind of treatment, i feel so bad for her.

Huh, whatever works. Yup, I'm not sure about brother but Roy is at the airport by now, he was supposed to turn his rental car in @ 10:00. I know brother left this morning too, but they weren't on the same flight. I was going to see what flight he was on.

Went to the dr this morning because of a little thing I had on my nose. He numbed my nose, cut the 2mm size thing out, sent it to biopsy as he thinks it is skin cancer but the best kind as it doesn't grow or spread, and cauterized the wound. So I have a numb nose.

Numb nose? OMG, Crissy, I nearly spewed coffee all over the keyboard with that one.
Sorry about it, though, but sure is funny.

crissy I had that done recently also. It feels numb for a few days, then itches.
I had it done on the breast also...that was not fun. I go back the 29th for surgery to remove another off my stomach. Told him to make it big enough to get rid of the roll of flab so I dont' need a tummy tuck. He did not have a sense of humor.

Nice out now, but keeps clouding up. Not sure what I am going to do today....just staying away from my kids as the "parental allergy" is flaring big time. This child is going to send me off the deep end of the pool without my swimmies on!

I am going to go rooting in the attic to see if I can find a project. LOL

Oh Debbie my dr would have cracked up! My dr is hot hot hot and has the same sense of humor that I do. Too bad we're both married (gasp) Did I say that??? We kept picking on each other the whole time I was in there. He was trying to talk me into letting him just take the thing off cause I save a co-pay and he wanted to make sure that I knew he's a dr because he likes helping people and to not collect money, and as small as this wound would be it would heal in 3 to 4 days. I finally conceded cause I'm going to have to have it removed at some point in time anyway, why pay another co-pay, right?

So he got the iodine out and told me that the wound would heal up fast but it would take weeks for the iodine to come off, I told him he was lying cause I've had the crap all over my belly several times, we laughed about that. So during the procedure we capped on each other back and forth almost constantly, when it was time to leave he got a mirror and let me look at my wound, I told him it was Huge!! He grinned at me and said, "You're lying!" I said, "I would Never do such a thing!!" We laughed about that, then he held out his hand to shake my hand and I said, "Thank you Dr. Nelson." He said, "Aww to you I'm Joe, call me Joe." There's the dr I was supposed to marry! I found him!!

Good Morning/Afternoon Eveyone!

Yikes, VERY LONG..

Sorry to go MIA, but had to unpack, worked on laundry the entire day and as usual, allow everyone to do their computer work first, so i can play uninterrupted. Well, lots of excitement going on...lol, you all know about the wedding. We couldn't aske for the most perfect days, a very comfortable 75-78 degrees, gentle breezes add a wonderful ombiance to the day.

I digress, first we went to the House on Thursday afternoon. In the morning, We closed on our half of the house, so it is now completely ours!! My sister Gypsy met us up there, as it's half way to the Rez. So we Celebrated into the night, going out for dinner and then blabbed away out on the deck...Julia and Anthony had to work so they arrived much later, once they got there I was able to totally chill and have a good time.

Friday morning we pulled a train to the Rez, where We first went to my Brothers and saw my nieces and nephews...OMG, they are just to cutre for words...We "kidnapped" Jazz and Bird,bird for a ride and visited with them in between getting ready for the wedding. My van has a sliding door that you just push a button, told the little one it was a magic door! OH they were estatic on that, lol had to tell and show their mom all about it...Then we went back to Bummer's because we didn't know the way to the wedding, it was being held way on the other side of the Rez, Geesh...Talk about boondocks! Thought we were going to be late was getting a bit frustrated, but was worried for nothing, lol Bride and Groom wasn't even there...

Shortly after 3 Here comes Johnny on his Harley, wearing a White Tuxedo, Black Vest and a bow tie! OMG, I just loved that!
While we waited people mingled, and food was getting cooked on 2 grills, nice feast...Finally, came Charmaigne, riding up on her Harley wearing her Wedding dress!! OMG, was upset I missed that photo op, but BIL, got one at least...Finally the ceramony started, was simply beautiful! LOL, Johnny made sure he said his vows loud enough for all to hear, some even said what and made him repeat!! LOL, of course we all laughed on that..Then Char made her vows and lol, couldn't get the ring over his knuckle!! ROFLOL, the Judge whispered "spit on it", Bride & Groom just laughed and as she did, the ring finally went on...and i actually got it on film! LOL, that was probably told over and over and still was hysterical...Then commenced to celebrating with family and friends. This was a day my Brother Was NOT putting up with any bafoonery, any one remotely started, they were gone, just like that! I was proud of him, for saying I do and keeping the nuts at bay. We all had an excellent time and everyone left at a reasonable time...
On the the way back, We got lost!! Well, it was late and it is Pitch black up there at night..but we finally found it, Poor kids, were following us, had to make a stop (we had no clue) and ended driving in circles trying to find the place. But they finally did and all was well again.

On Saturday, the 4th, We all went back to Johnnies and Chars...lounged around and visited with my Cuz, who was not at the wedding...UH, she shouldn't have been there then either but oh well...what can you do, but put up with some peoples shinanagin, Brother Bumm was there too and OMG, his woman was all bent out of shape that he dared to go to the party!! So, she literally dumped his meds, I am telling you she is insane and out to harm him..My, our only hope is that he see’s this and sets himself free of her!

Well, in the evening we set out to town for the Pow wow and fireworks! The kids all went into the bowl to watch the dancers, not as many danced , Sabrina and Julia went down and dance in the last open dance. I watched and beamed! It was their first time. Of course batteries died just before it so no pics.

We left the next morning. Set off for Warren, Wi. Where we met up with our Friends Don and Karla!
Had a wonderful visit. OMG, Betty! Wait till you see her Victorian Santa!! She is quite the Crafter and Gardener as well…And not only that, but she did a mural on her wall..It’s an Eagle…(made of material!) LOL, told her of our Victorian Santa sleighs…she did it very much, like that, it was amazing!

And finally came home, as stated above…Called early evening on the well being of Skittles, to our very delight (he) was ready to join our family!! So, we spent the evening playing with him…poor little bity thing was exhausted. This morning he was doing ok and actually now knapping. I have to make sure he eats. But he is getting acclemented to his knew cage, with out his siblings…
And , that has been all our excitement!

So today, I am trying to play catch up on the threads, lots to read, so will be back a little later.

Bev, lol you are so cute! I have told my friends of your spectacular photo’s! Whish I could have shown some of them, but I think I did them justice. My friend Karla and BIL, both enjoy photography, so they enjoyed hearing of yours…

It is cold and gray and damp and I am tired of it.....Summer can come back now ! In spite of the clouds and cold we are not getting any more than an occasional mist....I wish we would just get a good soaking rain, get it over with and go back to summer....they have been predicting a warmer, drier summer than usual.....wish we would get around to the "warmer" part:(
