Tried to catch the steam coming off the bird feeder.

Victor, that echi and the lily look good together. The echi picks up the center color in the lily.
Thanks. Yes, I like it a lot.
I'd forgotten how much I liked stokesia, nice shots!!
They would be nice planted along the path opposite scabiosa.
I planted a ton of scabiosa. Hopefully they will take and bloom next year. I think this is the edge of their zone limit.
Johnson's Blue was a favorite of one of my college professors. He had it all over his yard, very nice.
Great pics, all! So many posts since this morning! So hard to catch up. I took a bunch more pics this evening after work, even though it was raining a bit. Will try and get some posted tonight. I have tons of DL pics I need to label.
Bill, I love your 'Capt. Kirk' hosta. I got one this year. I see you have 'October Daphne' sedum behind your Beni Hime JM. I love it. I got a clump this year. Think I would like to get more, or maybe I'll just wait till mine gets bigger and divide it. Bill, I did not know that petunias would reseed. Do you just leave the pots outside and they come up in the spring? I might try that. I was hoping my marigolds would reseed for me, but no seeds have come up. When I lived in NV, in a zone 7, the marigold seeds would come up every spring. Maybe they don't survive the winter here?
LH, I have the same problem as you do with the DL's, and I'm the only one here who does any weeding. My father is willing, but with his dementia he can't be trusted not to stomp on things, knock down scapes, pull up the wrong things, etc. I will be getting rid of many DL's this year, and some will be given away at my RU. I'm only keeping the ones I like the most.
I only have one dog of my own here, plus my Dad's dog. No time or money (for vet bills) for other pets. I love having animals and have had many: cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, rats, and even a snake. I would love to have a pig someday, and chickens. Actually, would love to have a mini farm, but only if I was not working full time. Animals are a lot of work!
Thanks, Willie, for saving that lily for me. I do have lily beetles here, but the Monterey Garden Insect Spray is keeping them under control. I think I have a fungal disease on them, too. Probably botrytis. I just printed out a page of several fungicide recipes http://plantlilies.com/growlilies/66-recipefung.html . I don't know if the ones with copper are organic. I don't want to use chemicals. BTW, I happen to like when the hydrangeas blush. I think it's very pretty, though the straight blue or straight pink is really nice, too. Nice Asclepias tuberosa you have! And your jades are wonderful, too. Oh, and I haven't forgotten about your DL's. Just mega busy lately. On vacation starting this weekend. Hopefully will get them dug then. I have to get this place in shape for my RU.
Cool lightning shot, Victor! I'm thinking your bright orange DL might be Alabama Jubilee http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/7231/ .
Karen
Thanks, JoAnn. I was just looking at the Heritage Mix. I think I will order some for next year.
karen they reseed easily - i have them all over my brick walkway in front - hard to "round'em up" - at the end of the season I just crush all the dead branches in the dirt with the seed heads and wait for spring.
Great! I will have to do that, though I didn't plant any this year. I wonder if the same will work for the million bells.
Karen
