Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

i just had a salad for lunch! I used what was left of the lettece, a tomatoe and a cuke- all from the garden. Added some cheese and trail bologna, it was good!

What's trail bologna?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I was going to ask the same thing!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Cheese?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

The Amish make it. A very mild summer sausage. It's great alone or in a sandwich. The Amish live in southern OH. The cheese was mild chedder and colbyjack cut into chunks. DSh says there is a factory in Trail,OH for the trail bologna. The brand is Troyer's.

aaahhhhh

Holy crappola! Close call! Just found out that you can't eat red runner beans raw. They have a toxin that will make you hurl if you don't cook them. WHEW! cuz I planned on eating them all raw. Good news though is that apparently they don't make beans until it gets cooler which may be why I've had flowers galore but no beans yet.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Sounds like some good eatin's are coming 'round for y'all!

The salad and trail bologna does sound good.

GLAD! you didn't eat them raw!! I would have never thought they were poisonous, Ms. D-nut!

Weighed the zucchini harvest for the past two days .... 25 Lbs.

Salad harvest has been steady, too, though, I think the arugula is a bit bitter.

Can't wait for the Eggplant Lavender Touch to be pickable. Soon.

Harvested more zucchini, 4 nice Eggplant Viserba, and a colander full of cherry tomatoes, today!!

Gee, Willie--I have NO eggplants, tiny peppers, 2 zukes, 1 miniscule yellow squash, & tasteless tomatoes----but, I do have great beans, carrots, & beets---that's it---worse garden I've ever had!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Marilyn! My green beans are the best crop out there right now as well. So far, my broccoli and green beans are the only decent crops I've had. The onions still look a bit puny, but they've got some time left.

Debilu - those stuffed peppers sound good!

Has anyone seen Sherrie around lately? I wonder how she is doing.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

No sigh DonnieB and from her posts I think her membership was expiring. Maybe the fairies will help ^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O I think the fairies have helped ^_^ I think DG will send her an email telling her this ^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

ps I only know this cuz I believe in fairys so they talk to me.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Fairies are awesome!!! I have d-mailed her, but haven't gotten a reply. I hope she knows how many friends here are missing her!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - I was wondering too. Thom also.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I think we are all worrying/wondering. YOOO HOOO Luvly Lady YOOO HOOO!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I think Sherrie was getting discouraged with the garden ,from her last posts. I hope the fairies will help her come back. FYI, next week I won't be on much because of the county fair. DD is showing in it.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Best wishes to your DD. I always enjoyed fair week.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks. I'll let everyone know how she does.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

good luck to your DD Jumper!!... I miss Sherrie too!!!... Please come back!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Sherrie sure did sound discouraged .... I probably would be, too.

I hope she has a nice break from it all and comes back fresh and revived soon!

I know how hard it is to have all your hard work taken from you.

Thomaston, CT

Victor, Thom posted a few weeks ago---he had bought some snazzy iris---how about Patti? Is she on vacation?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
