Lady Scarlet. I pair this with Happy Returns.
Garden Photos of '09... # 31
Victor, I love your Hydrangea/Lily combo. 'Goldilocks' usually gives me about 6 or 7 seedlings each year. I try to leave some seeds on but mostly I deadhead because it's right along my front walk and I like to keep it tidy. So I would say it self seeds but not aggressively.
Victor - what is that daylily in the post right after your After Midnights (which are gorgeous, by the way....sniff!). I love that color of the daylily! I would also like that combo you have of the Lady Scarlet next to Happy Returns. Great combo!
Celeste - I have "Indian Giver" from you as well.....can't wait until it blooms!!! It's in my Pixie Garden.
Victor - forgot to ask - Do your After Midnights reseed a lot or is that one clump you posted?
Wow, I think I missed an entire thread. Love the deep colors on this one.
I'll check on that DL, Louise. The AM's are in their second year. No seedlings yet. That is one plant.
Indian Giver is a beauty---also love the echies---Dyane, your gardens are looking great---no photos today---my DLs are waterlogged!
Awesome shots, Dyane! I love the one of the monarda with the spider. I also love your Pollyanna lily. Luscious! And I love the October Daphne!
Nice rendition of our flag, Tex!
Your shots are great, too, Victor! I love that 'Emilia Plater' clem. The color is outstanding! That 'After Midnight' echi is stunning! And 'Lady Scarlet' is amazing! I have one very similar called 'Scarlet Orbit'. I had trouble finding 'Lady Scarlet' when I looked it up on line. Turns out it's a Blooms of Bressingham cultivar. Oh, and I tried that new search engine called Bing.com, and I really like it.
Karen
great shots all..... hope the seeds Pixie gave me and I am growing aren't the ugly cherry brandy...
Victor that sad hellebore ... so sorry.. hope it's ok
Lovely Aftermidnight Victor.
Very foggy but no rain (yet) this morning... I'll try to get some pics of what's blooming
I was actually wondering what that was... pretty good!
Very nice... what is the lily that is blooming?
There are 2 varieties
On the right is a 2 year old clump of Fata Morgana
On the left with dark red throats is Music Art
spray paint it green... it will fit right in
I never thought of that. If it doesnt disolve this winter I will do that.
DD will take in the bulbs and I will put lilies in that spot. I really need to getaway from the yellows, thats all the colors I have right now. Even the later ones are copperking and whites or creams.
I want some pinks and a dark black-red for intrest in that area.
There is some wphlox David,Penstamon Red Husker and a verbascum Sixteen Candles behind the cage.
Many plants need moving.
I also added agastache Apache Sunset I doubted the plants would all live and of course they are so its getting crowded in there.
I have to move some phlox since it has been shaded by that huge delph. ... poor thing got crowded out
well that's good for you... crowded plants are better than none
:)
Its the most expensive weed controle ever.
LOL
Joann, what is that towering Lily next to the Ligularia?
Dont I wish I knew.
Many people want to know
I will try to find it on Brent and Beckys just because I'm cureous. Its supposed to be a recurved cream with a yellow throat.
I ordered?
and the tags said? but thats not what the lily is so I called and sent a picture of what bloomed with the wrong tag.
They didnt know either.
This is what bloomed
I checked all the lilies on B&B 's website and its not there this year.
Patti has what I ordered I saw it last year blooming in one of her garden shots, its a womans name. I'm so jealous.

Joann, I know how frustrating that can be to order something specific and then wind up with something else, but it is a nice looking Lily.
Noreaster, you have created such a lovely, tranquil shade garden. Blue Ivory really pops, looks great with the Birch tree.

Thankse, Dyane-
I forgot to add that I love your October Daphne sedum. I have some of that, but it looks nothing like yours! Sedum and Daylilies are two things that I like to torture by forcing them to live in the shade, lol. In the picture of Blue Ivory, that is John Creech sedum on the ground, which actually does surprisingly well in the shade (and that spot is particularly shady).
Thanks Dyane B&B did make it up to me.
I also love the lily.
Noreaster: slugs? of course, and I cant seem to get rid of them.
Sluggo has been used but I didnt follow up.
I am using Cayenne pepper around the new prized JI 's there are too many hostas to sprinkle pepper on all of them.
The poor Ligularias do look lacy.
Very nice, Jo Ann. I like the coleus / caladium combo.
Thanks Victor: that was a pot I just threw leftovers into. Sometimes the carefull plans ar not as good as the thoughtless tosses.
Maybe thats a thread.
You will be surprised when you see it.
