Afternoon everyone. Sorry for just skimming through all the post. Hope everyone is doing fine?
Hubby is still home from work. He is feeling better, but he has to go through a chemical induced stress test on Wed, to see what if any damage he has from the major blood loss! he needs to have knee surgery, but not until his cardiologist says it is OK to do so. Right now it is too soon, after his blood loss.
I go in Tuesday, to get my result of my MRI, and my knee damage. Geesh. Always hits the fan all at once it seems!
I am also babysitting the two grandsons this week, and they are very anxiously waiting for this week-end, so they can watch grandpa set off the fire works!
Lets all hope for some rain, so we won't set the neighbors on fire! LOL

Maybe you could be knee patients together Linda Kay...now wouldn't that be fun...know most do their own fireworks but does your town/city put on a big display? some might have had to cancel because of economic times...

Betty, I rarely go to St Louis, I much prefer Louisville which is about the same distance in an easterly direction. So I can't tell you very much about the city of St Louis, or what it might offer.

I spent better part of an hour looking at all the marvellous things I could do in St. Louis...putting it in my stop should I make the trip...

Quite stormy, Sailor sure isn't liking it...panting and underfoot...

Yesterday we had to be at the State Park at 6 a.m. to monitor parking for a big club ride. Three hours of that, grabbed breakfast and went for a 20 mile ride up the valley. Then had to come home and get cleaned up for a going away party for one of Bill's employees (that I had not planned on being at my house)....only 25 people!!! It was a long day.

Finished post party cleanup this morning then spent the afternoon at a Doctors Appt. and grocery shopping. Doctor thinks it may be my new "crazy meds" and the schedule I am taking them on that is causing a lot of my tummy and pain issues.....sure hope she is right. With my dad having died of Colon Cancer any kind of internal issues scare me silly. I haven't been able to get a test....extremely expensive and we have no insurance, no savings.....make too much for low cost or subsidized coverage and not enough to afford private medical insurance. May have to go back on my old meds....expensive but if they solve the issues......

Have to get started on dinner....having big Chef Salad with lots of shrimp and a loaf of Chipolte Chili Sourdough!!!! Dawned on me I never got around to having lunch today....

Dave's little brother is coming too, kinda curious of how he's going to get here, no car and no money and lives in Berkeley, CA. Roy's flying in from Sunnyvale/San Jose, CA. There's a family reunion on the 4th at Arkansas's big lake, Lake Ouachita. Don't know if it's the biggest in the state, but I think it is.

Betty so if you go into KY to see Sharon, will you be driving down to I-40 and driving cross country by yourself, that's the fastest way, or will you fly out of KY over to Las Vegas? Am I asking too many questions?

Passing some over to ya Crissy....Bill should be home in few minutes and ai am starved!

DUCKS IN HEAVEN !!!

Three women die together in an accident
and go to heaven.

When they get there, St. Peter says,
'We only have one rule here in heaven:
don't step on the ducks!'

So they enter heaven, and sure enough,
there are ducks all over the place.
It is almost impossible not to step on a duck,
and although they try their best to avoid them,
the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.
St. Peter chains them together and says,

The next day,
the second woman steps accidentally on a duck

Oh Trisha, I'd be worried as well, that's only natural..has the tummy problems just started? just feel sick that many aren't able to get tests/care due to no insurance...catch 22, here we have to wait longer but the services are provided to everyone...will include you in my prayers in hopes not only are you feeling better but that some $$$ somehow become available so you can get it checked out...you have been working a bit much lately, physical work, worrying about family..you also my dear friend never stop so it could be that...we just won't think of the alternative...how's Sage enjoying being out of school?

Crissy, no, on this trip I'd drive...could make it to Shar's in 1 day of driving IF I pushed it, but would make some mini stops/visits as to break up the ride, that's what vacations are for, stop here, stop there....looks as though you've a busy schedule ahead this week and weekend..hey maybe you can book BIL and uncle a steak now that you've perfected the b.b.q.

LIZ, 1st thing one must do before planning trips is making sure you both can get the time off..lol...

Heavy torrential rains certainly did a number on my gardens, especially the tall plants..most laying on the ground..sure hope they get enough energy to stand up again...overcast and looks like another rainy day..

LOL I'm not cooking anyone anything. Dave said a good one last night. He told me that his brother was coming, every time he shows up at a family function he seems to make a spectacle of himself and show off to the people who don't know him and start trouble with the ones who do, apparently he's staying with Aunt Eller. I'm hoping since he's all show no go he won't make it, he has an old clunker car and no money so I don't know how he's getting here, 2000 miles is a long walk!

I'm trying to see you too Betty! I'd be happy to take a drive :) Watch out Sharon, you might end up with a house full! LOL I had a dream last night that I met you on the Oregon/CA state line. I also dreamed that my next door neighbor's tree lilies bloomed and the blossoms were as big as a full grown crab apple tree! They were sure pretty!

Liz, do you know DH's boss? or can you just tell DH you've that time period off and could he get the same..hopefully can...now tell me about this trip you are planning???? I'm excited for you...

If he tried to drive it, it wouldn't make it! I think it sucks that the reunion is on a major holiday, which is probably why they have it that day, so everyone can make it, but still. Hardly anyone who has kids come, I'm sure because of not having fireworks. I have to figure out what I'm going to take to it, I have no idea, something that doesn't have to be refrigerated...

Feel the same when someone plans a wedding on a long weekend as well..look forward to long weekends all year round and to miss out..well DRATS!

I forgot to mark the thread! Was wondering why it was so quiet on here and have been gone so much the last two days...I just caught up!

Everything is fine Betty, just very very busy. Having teenager issues, but trying to work through them. Having to do that tough love issue...but it is so hard when the teenager already knows everything and is a high school graduate.

DH is home the next 5 days....except has to scoot into work for a few hours Saturday morning. Ugh.

Love those puppies....I can just smell the puppy breath!

Good evening all..............

Had to do Grocery shopping MIL this morning...she is recovering well and back on her own now, just didn't feel she stay on her feet for a Big shopping trip.

Put in a new little bed at the corner of the driveway for mom, transplanted some poor plant that have been stuffed in her urn Planter for years....they had reached the move me or I die stage. Will also put in some of the Iris we move out of the front bed. Got the excess pond plants taken over to Laura....now if we can get her a pond instead of just the half barrel liner and a tin wash tub....got things watered out back, but OMG how the weeds have grown, and going to Have to take a little time and MY yard weeded!!

Now need to get the dog a vet appt. and get her nails clipped, get the train reservations made for our trip to Portland.....always something!

Didn't ride tonight....Bill should be home soon so I should get Supper ready....Fried Rice and a green salad.....the rice is smelling so good and I am starving!!

Debbie, Our house was pretty much the same as Dad's when he was younger.... grandpa's comment was "when you get your own place you can do or say what you want...in the meantime this is My house and you go by My rules".
