Been busy lately. Today another surprise downpour and went out there to check after the rain.

Most of the photos I took with my 8 mega pixel camera phone today (don't ask - it's not even available yet in the US), some, of my SLR camera I took before.

To start off - raindrops on this day lily.

More lilies. The yellow and the white one is the same plant. Started as yellow and faded to white.

Homestead verbenas (purple, red, and pink). Give it another month and it will be a riot. As it is now, it is already a traffic stopper.

My suburban meadow is growing. All the coneflowers are getting taller and bigger.

OOh.. love the Gerber daisies.. wish they liked me.. and the Helenium.. lovely... Just love the collages, folks.. very nice! Is Englishtown a Maple?

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

Raspberry Magic Roses - of all places got them from SpringHill last spring. They were just barely 2" tall. Now they're starting to bloom. The rain kind of weighed down the blooms though.

Blooms on this hydrangea are getting bigger. Started pinkish/purplish, now kind of bluish.

Victor - it's a Samsung phone called Innov8 (model no. i8510). Yes, 8 mp camera, also functions as video camera, mp3 player, DivX, WiFi, GPS, 16 GB of storage. The front looks like a phone, the back looks like a digital camera (with flash) and functions as a full digital and video camera. Beats the crap out of iPhone. LOL! And IS smaller than iPhone. Go figure.

Like I said, it's not available in the US from the cell companies. It's only available in Asia and Europe. But I was able to get the unlocked version so I can just use either ATT's or T-Mobile's SIM card.

Impressive! What about camera functions like zoom, white balance, manual stuff, etc.?

Bill - funny!!

Victor - very pretty! I love your patio shot and I meant to tell you earlier that I really like that Autumn moon!

JoAnn - pretty collages again!! Your coleus combos with the caladiums look great!

Tex - wow! You've got some gorgeous blooms happening! I am really wanting Tomato Soup. I love the color. Your buddleias are way ahead of mine! I especially like your vibrant colors!

Victor, yeah there's zoom, and like different kind of functions for like night, beach, sun, stuff like that. Also what I like is it got 'EYE BLINK/FACE/SMILE RECOGNITION'. It will not take a shot if your subject's eyes are closed or something like that. I'm not yet fully familiar with all its function. As of now I just point and shoot.
It's just a neat gadget to have, especially when you travel. All in one device. The video is just amazing!

Do I have to tell you the camera is also a card reader? It reads business cards and stores information in the phone. LOL! This thing is such a bad a@@! LOL!

Really nice photos---loved the echies, Tex---I have only one opening---and no butterfly bush blooms yet. JoAnn---I, too, loved those JIs---& Victor---quit showing me more clems! I was sure I had settled on one, but the Abundance is a beauty. Louise, your potting shed gardens look so nice, & Willie---what a good idea for the window---keep us posted on it.

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

Donnie - I just got my Coral Reef plugs about two weeks ago. Can't wait for that one to flower. I got a long way. I am so wanting Firebird (also a red one) and Hot Papaya.

I also ordered Hot Lava and Milkshakes from the co-op here at DG. Expecting delivery around middle of this month.
Gosh, so many new echinaceas. Can't cope-up with them!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Marilyn!

Tex - I want one of those camera phones!! I really like that feature of not taking photos if someone's eyes are closed. How the heck does the camera know that?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Tex - please post flowers of those hot cones when they flower. I really want some of those. Right now I'm having to focus on shade flowers to fill up new shade beds, but next year I'll beef up my cones. I lost "After Midnight" over the winter. Got it last year from Garden Crossings and it WASN"T cheap!!! Bummed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bummer, Louise. The newer echies are not reliable in general. My AM did return, luckily.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That's good to hear, Victor. I think I moved mine to a new bed too late. My Pink Double Delight has blooms coming. That's a favorite of mine too. Do you have Tomato Soup? Oh, ooops, I just remembered that you don't do orangish flowers. LOL

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

Donnie - simple answer - JAPANESE technology!!!! LOL!

Here's a link from Samsung/Hong Kong, since it's the only English version in Asia. DO NOT use Samsung/USA as the phone is not commercially available in the US:

http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=mobilephones&type=mobilephones&subtype=smartsymbianphone&model_cd=GT-I8510RKHTGY

It says, Blink detection, Smile shot, and Face detection. You may probably find it on Ebay, but be prepared for the asking price. LOL!

Very cool, but way too $$$ for me.

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

It is those BIG SKY Series echinaceas (midnight, sundown, sunrise, whatever) that are problematic! They all came from one breeder. Anything with BIG SKY series label on them, buy it at your own risk!

But all these new ones for 2009-2010 are from a different breeder.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How tall are Meringue and Coco Lime? Do they flop like PDD?

Long Branch, NJ(Zone 7a)

PDD - Pink Double Delight? Yours flop? They only reach about 2' tall maybe a little more in some cases. Meringue is like the white version of PDD. Coco Lime grows tall can reach 3' or more.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - big-time!
