NOID daylilly. This is the bed I was working in today. All the space behind was choked with the 'grass with roots to China'. It's peeking at the right in the photo.

Very nice, Allison! Your caladiums are further long than mine. I did not start mine indoors.
Yes - BT is great on caterpillars. It's also the active ingredient in mosquito dunks.
thanks.... mine were started outside as well ... the chipmunks are doing a number digging around in my containers this year... really getting on my nerves ... so many leaves are messed up because of them
Really? When did you start them? I waited, due to the cool temps.
uuuhhhh wow .... after frost... LOL
had to be after may 16th... that's when I got the pro mix from Holly at the swap
I started much later than that.
amazing.. it's all a blur ... I have no clue when I planted them... dain bramgae
Really loved that Hocus-Pocus ger., & the ensata, & the cosmos! Spent time today spraying all my lilies with Neem Oil---Agway person said they almost sold out on it, insects are so bad this year. They were having 25% off sale on trees & shrubs---looked at some JMs, but looked inside my wallet, & only bought the spray.
I discovered my cosmos may actually be a dwarf red coreopsis, thanks to Gita on the MidAtlantic forum

The dark red cosmos has a total yellow center which mine does not.
I thought it might be the new Chocolate Cosmose.
Thanks for the id Gita
Jen I have seeds for that coreopsis already... no need to save then
Hi Onewish!! up early again I see
Thank you all for posting your pictures. Between the rain and wind it has been a rough spring. A tree branch came down and flattened my iris bed. Then the chain saw wielder stepped on those that had survived the limb. My siberians are done and the japanese iris are in bloom, with the water lilies as a backdrop.
Would anyone like to swap an ensata for this no name beauty? I bought it several years ago at a big box store and it was mislabeled. I had divided it before blooming so have several good size clumps to share. I have them planted along the pathway to the pond, they grow quite tall and are graceful looking. I would describe the color as lilac, or pinky lavender.
good morning all.... that pink frost is pretty Mittsy
