Greetings from Carolina, where I'm visiting my folks. Sorry I couldn't make it, but it looks like y'all had a great time. It's been raining all week here. Guess I brought it with me so you could have some great weather there, but looks like I'll be bringing the rain back home a few days from now. I hope to make it to the next one.
Invitation to Fall gathering in SW New Hampshire!
Allison, I always need to babble to someone in the car, too, to stay awake during long trips. LOL!
Kassia, it's too bad I didn't get to see you this time around. We haven't seen each other since last Oct at.....oh, shoot, I can't recall her name now! Darn, I hate it when that happens. My ADD kicking in! Anyhow, in NH. I know I'll think of her name in a minute. My poor PT Cruiser is having engine trouble and has been at my DB's house all week getting fixed. I hope he will have it done today, but I haven't heard from him since Thurs. At that time he said hopefully he'd have it done by Sun, but I'm not holding my breath. At least I can use my DH's car, as she's in Alaska with Dad and won't be home till the 26th.
Oh, yeah, it was Celeste! I haven't heard from her in awhile. Anyone know how she's doing?
Karen
Hello, Sharron! Nice to hear from you. I got the corydallis you brought to my RU planted, and they're doing great. Did you bring the little hellebore seedlings? I finally got those planted, too. I'm trying to catch up on planting stuff before it gets too cold here.
Karen
Karen, im Celeste.....I think you meant Candyce. No I haven't heard from her and thought she would be at Louise's yesterday but wasn't.
Oops! I knew that, too! Sorry about that! I guess I'm still not awake. :-P Brain fog!
Karen
Thanks Louise and Hank - it was wonderful!
Just made it back home, we got an early start out this morning.
Hi Sharon! I hope you are having a nice visit in the Carolinas! We would have loved it if you had come yesterday. What a harmonious group we had. Everyone was so relaxed and comfortable with each other sitting in front of the fireplace, just chatting away. As Hank said to me this morning....what a terrific bunch of interesting, friendly people we have! The common thread of gardening is just the beginning of the easy connections that are apparent when we get together. Genuinely nice and generous people. I'm looking forward already to the next RU next summer - wherever it is.
Karen - I hope you have your Peetie back soon!! Ours is waiting for us in Fla. We truly missed you yesterday!
Wow - Debi - you guys are already home? It was so special that both of you came! I just planted JoAnn's blue aster, and Hank took some of your sweet woodruff down through the woods to our little log cabin that Hank and I built by hand 20 years ago and put it on our dogs' (Cody and Max) grave. I also put some in my new little island garden between the driveway and the road. I was looking at the cards you made more carefully this morning. Wow....those are so pretty!! Thank you so much for bringing them.
I'm going back out shortly to do some more planting! I'll bet I'm not alone!
Memory - thank you for that lovely message! I think you said it..."Peace and Plenty [of great friendship and sharing!]" It was so great to see you again. We both enjoyed having you share our special summer spot!
Louise I was happy it worked out that JoAnn and I could make it. We were both up by 4 this morning so hit the road by 5. I saw 1 moose crossing sign but the moose weren't paying attention!!
Glad you liked the cards, all the pics were from my garden.
And I love sweet woodruff, it does spread but pulls out pretty easily and smells so good in the spring. I spent a few minutes today picking and eating raspberries fresh off the cane warmed in the sun, mmmm.
We also went for a long walk - 75 and sunny today, and I picked a bunch of wildflowers.
Will probably crash tonight.

Debi - I bet you will crash all right! Tomorrow Hank is going to rototill a strip just on the other side of my hydrangea bush that is in front of the veggie garden for the raspberries and blackberry canes that we got. Thank you so much. Your walk must have been gorgeous. It was just perfect today here!
Karen, I might have brought the hellebore seedlings. I had and still have some, but my memory could be better. Glad everything's happy and planted.
Louise, it will be great to get home tomorrow - still raining hard here- hasn't stopped at all for 3 days - we stopped counting at 9 inches sometime yesterday - probably 15 or 20 inches straight by now. I just hope the runway isn't under water. It was nice to visit, and I was glad to help clean out the garage, but would much rather have done more gardening and less garage cleanout! Also not too inspiring to take little trips in the pouring rain. Oh well... wish I could have been there.
Have a safe trip home, Sharon! I'll be looking forward to seeing you at the next RU......perhaps at Bill's house!
Well, I got my car back, Louise. Now it needs a catalytic converter. Will it never end? My brother said he won't charge me for the labor to install it, though. Oh, and it needs one new tire and a new rim, too. After all this I'm in for a run of good luck.
Karen
Wow, Karen. That's quite a siege you're under. How wonderful that you have a brother who can help you out! I'm wishing you that run of good luck!!
Thanks, Louise! I'm due!
Karen
Just got caught up here. Love all the pics. It looks like a great time was had by all.
Hi Marilyn. Glad you're back home safely, but I was wondering how Doug is feeling. Sorry to hear he's still sick. I hope the rest of your trip went ok under the circumstances! It was great to see you both!
Nice pics, Marilyn! Thanks for sharing.
Karen
You're welcome---we missed you, Karen!
thanks for the update on Doug. Hope he feels better
Yeah, he does---slightly---thanks for asking Jo Ann.
I missed you guys, too, Marilyn. Oh, well, another time. I will do another one here next July if people are interested. Will allow more digging in my gardens, too.
Karen

Karen, I never made it to the Roseman Nursery close to where you live... next year hopefully!
It was great seeing you Kassia. No problem that you were late. It was hard to see how much the bad politics at your work had taken out of you. You are a light. : )
thanks Harper!!!! I just have to hang around there for a few more months... get all the experience I can and go on... the price for knowledge!!!!
It was really great to see you and meet Shadow... he is so adorable!!!! so cute!!!
Thanks Kassia!!
Sorry I had to miss this one, folks, but it looks like you had a grand time.
